First things first I am loving that this month’s Look Fantastic Box is dressed in decedent navy, it’s one of my favourite colours this season! November’s edition which is themed Dark Wonder is about embracing those dark nights of autumn and touches on skin and body care in addition to some make-up treats too – more than usual this month which makes me ever so happy however on the flip side do you remember that bath bomb that’s appeared inside their December box for the last two years? –well it’s back for the third time running!
Without further ado, here’s my unboxing and thoughts on this month’s curation:
I much prefer make-up over skin care and this month you can expect to see three very good sized make-up treats which doesn’t happen often inside the Look Fantastic Beauty boxes so that was a nice surprise! First out of the box we have the Mellow Cosmetics Liquid Precision Eyeliner in Black (Full size). This liquid eyeliner is perfect for creating a winged eye and I love that the tip isn’t too thick which in turn makes it so it easy to get that defined finish plus it stayed put and didn’t fade either!
Up next and a brand new discovery for me is the Contour Cosmetics Matte Lip Gloss (Full size) in the shade Juju and is another favourite out of the bunch, as it’s a pinky nude that doesn’t wash me out! Described as an intensely pigmented lipstick that glides across the lip for true colour pay off and an on-trend matte finish, I’ve been wearing this shade to the office and it gives a lovely natural look but the longevity isn’t the greatest.
From two variations, subscribers will either receive the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Gilded Honey Highlighter (Deluxe mini) or the Laura Geller Iconic Rosetown Shadow and although I was secretly hoping for the eyeshadow I of course ended up with the highlighter! I already own the full size and absolutely adore the shade so I guess this cute travel sized one will come in handy.
Moving onto skin care we have the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel (15ml) which is a repeat product from a few years ago! Containing natural fruit enzymes of exfoliating papaya and calming pineapple to smooth and clarify the complexion, this rinse-off exfoliating cream contains nourishing milk protein, anti-oxidant rich vitamin E and marine algae to moisturise, repair and protect skin.
The next skin care addition out of the box is the REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream (15 ml) is a day cream designed to repair skin’s natural barriers, calm, hydrate and soothe sensitised skin. Developed for reactive skin, it combats redness and irritation, protects against signs of premature ageing and leaves the skin soothed and radiant.
Just when you think you’ve seen the last of the Bubble T Bath Bombs (Full size), another one turns up for the third year running! I have nothing against the brand and the bath bomb smells lovely and will most certainly get used but I’m a little bored of them now. Exclusive to this month’s beauty box, this limited edition bath bomb is made with goji berry extracts and sweet orange seed oil to let your stresses melt away with the uplifting scents of acai berry and hibiscus tea notes. Created in a dark blue colour with gold shimmering tones, this ‘Dark Wonder’ bath bomb fizzer will moisturise while helping to relax on these cold and dark winter evenings.
My Verdict
I think the make-up saved this month’s box if I’m completely honest as I wasn’t too fussed with the skin care additions as neither were appropriate for my skin. As for the bath bomb which has popped up twice already, it was disappointing to see it for the third time – I guess we don’t have to worry about it turning up inside the December box! On a positive note I did like that Look Fantastic featured more make-up this month two of which were my absolute favourites from the line-up and full sized too!
