I’ve kick started the month with the May Look Fantastic Beauty Box and as per every month it’s a box that I can’t wait to get my hands on and one which I have complete confidence in. They’ve not been in the beauty box game for long but their established experience within the beauty industry alongside their brand portfolio really shines through month on month when they curate their boxes. There’s many reasons why this box stands out for me but the main reason being is that I know there will be something inside which I will simply fall in love with. This month’s box is definitely a favourite of mine showcasing a good area of beauty from well-known brands alongside a good handful of new discoveries too and as always you can expect to see generous sized treats in the form of samples and full size products.

The box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skincare, haircare, cosmetic and body products, catering to every kind of beauty lover.

This month’s box is filled with an incredible 6 beauty treats which have been carefully selected and features products from Eylure, Nuxe, Monu, Erno Laszlo, Christophe Robin and Omorovicza.

1.  TANWORX Self-Tanning Lotion by Monu Skincare – Deluxe Size 100ml. Full Size 200ml RRP £20.00

Even though it may be spring it sure doesn’t quite feel like it however inside this month’s box you can expect to see a self-tanning lotion by Monu Skincare to help you get your glow on rain or shine. Whilst self-tanning may not be to everyone’s taste I very much welcome them to disguise my pasty skin.

This luxurious moisturising lotion provides instant colour that develops into a deep, long-lasting tan with an enviable all-over glow. The formula promises a streak free finish and a natural looking tan that lasts.

I initially thought this 100ml was the full size but it’s near enough as the full sized version is 200ml so it’s a very generous sample. The only minor draw back is that there’s no mitt but these are pretty easy to get hold of in your nearest boots or superdrug store.

2.    Christophe Robin Regenerating Hair Mask –  Full Size 50ml RRP £10.00

Christophe Robin isn’t a brand I’ve heard of before but the collection has been specially formulated to care and protect colour treated hair luxuriously.

The Regenerating Mask by Christophe Robin works to restore and revitalise dry and damaged hair from root to tip. It also helps to stimulate your scalp and protect the hair from split ends and further breakages. The formula also benefits from Inula flower extract which restores the pigments of both natural and dyed locks, leaving it looking vibrant and healthy. This hair mask sounds ideal for post-winter hair and arrives just in time for spring restoration.

3.   Erno Laszlo Transphuse Night Serum  –  Sample Size 2ml. Full Size 1oz RRP £161.00

Designed to stimulate and fortify the skin, the Erno Laszlo Transphuse Night Serum contains active ingredients Glycosaminoglycans and Matrixyl 3000 which work to boost collagen production, reducing fine lines and giving an overall younger look to the skin. The formula also contains the plant extract Gatuline Expression to relax the facial muscles whilst also helps the skin to rebalance itself over night.

I’m certainly hoping for a skin miracle with this serum as the full-size retails for a whopping £161.00! The line from Erno Laszlo is pretty expensive but having tried their cleansing soap a few months ago you are paying for the quality and effectiveness.

4.   Omorovicza Cleansing Balm – Sample Size 5ml. Full Size 50ml £46.00

Eeek! I’ve been lusting after this extremely luxurious high-end skincare brand that hails all the way from Budapest, Hungary for quite some time now and the main factor that triggered my interest in the first place was their magic ingredient the Hungarian Moor Mud!

Omorovicza‘s legendary Thermal Cleansing Balm is an award-winning black balm that cleanses without stripping, removes all impurities and make-up including waterproof mascara, to leave the skin soft and hydrated. It contains Calcium- and Magnesium-rich Hungarian Moor mud detoxifies and purifies, while sweet almond oil nourishes skin to leave it soft and silky.

The balm itself is a grayish black and smells a little like orange blossom. The scent is natural and unintrusive, so even if you are not a fan of orange blossom, it probably won’t bother you.

Everything about this balm feels luxurious from the packaging to the goodness inside. Nothing short of what I would expect from Omorovicza and I’m looking forward to giving this a go.

5.   Eylure Pre-Glued Lashes – Full Size RRP £5.50

I love false lashes and was happy to see a set from Eylure as I’ve not tried much from their collection.

The lashes are pre-glued and thankfully you do get a spare strip of adhesive too. The lashes are are super light and are perfect for those who want a more natural look that’s not too dramatic. They are suitable for any occasion and are subtle enough to wear during the day too.

In the past the pre-glued gimmick has failed me so I’m hoping these live up to their name.

6.   Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or Multi Usage Dry Oil – Sample Size10ml  RRP £7.99

The NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Or Dry Gold Oil is a multi-usage dry oil that gives a golden shimmer to your face, body and hair.

If you’ve tried the original Huile Prodigieuse dry oil it’s not like an ordinary oil, it’s so much better being in a dry form and sinks into the skin faster leaving your skin soft without the greasy feeling with an added bonus of a heavenly smell too. This version is no exception to the original and contains a hint of shimmer.

I did swatch this on my arm and thankfully the shimmer isn’t too obvious and gives a lovely glow without the worry of looking like a disco ball. It looks pretty terrifying in the bottle but I can assure it’s quite subtle and great for evenings out or for enhancing a tan.

My Verdict

Look Fantastic have showcased another great box and I think there’s a lot to love this month especially with all the new discoveries. Inside you can expect to see a balanced beauty line up, and with the inclusion of the tan and the shimmer dry oil their the perfect duo to get our spring glow on come rain or shine. There’s many highlights this month but for me the stand out is the luxurious cleansing balm and I can’t wait to slather this onto my skin. As always the samples are very generous and this edition includes two full sized products with an overall value of £45.00.

This box never fails to impress me and it certainly gives you an opportunity to try more upmarket beauty brands without the hefty price tag. In my opinion the quality, the presentation and the product selection throughout their boxes remains to be consistently great and focuses mainly on medium and high end brands. The samples sizes are very good sized too and are ideal to accompany you on short breaks and weekends away.

For only £15.00 it’s a great way to trial beauty products from brands we all love and know alongside some new discoveries too.

The May box is available now and as a special treat, Look Fantastic have added the ‘ghd Curve’, worth £110.00, to 40 random boxes. Will you be one of the lucky ones?
