With summer on it’s way the May So Susan Lip Love Bag is inspired by that busy social time of the year where we all want to be looking our very best and this month you can expect to see a great line up of treats to get you summer-ready. I adore the line up this month it features a good mixture of products to achieve fresh faced and sun kissed makeup looks, perfect for bringing some sunshine to your make up bag. The bag features four full sized make up products alongside a bonus item in the form of an anchor bracelet with an incredible value of £56.00.
The So Susan collection ranges from make-up to nail varnish combining their lovely portfolio of colours with science. Their philosophy is to create colours which last, are cruelty free and also much kinder to your skin. As well as the philosophy behind the brand, I love the feminine and pretty designed packaging which always stands out for me. I’ve tried quite a few products from their collection and already have a few firm favourites.
Each month, the Lip Love bag will include 4 full sized items and one bonus item usually consisting of jewellery or hair accessories.
1. So Susan Light Diffuser – Full Size. RRP £14.00
This utterly gorgeous scented light diffuser palette is a new addition to the So Susan family and the combination of the chocolate and coconut scent really sets the scene of holidays, it’s such a tease!
The palette consists of an illuminator and a bronzer that promises to you give you immaculate, sunkissed skin whilst diffusing any harsh light at the same time and is infused with with Cocoa, Papaya & Kelp extract to help rejuvenate & heal fatigued skins.
With just a single quick sweep of one or both of them combined creates a gorgeous sun-kissed glow that’s very natural looking and it’s so versatile that you can use them as an eyeshadow too. I really like this compact it gives just the right touch of warmth.
2. Jelly Pong Pong Play Paint – Full Size RRP £9.00
There’s another new product launch inside the bag in the form of the Jelly Pong Pong Play Paint in the shade Damson and the texture feels very similar to the Colour Hybrid which was featured last month so that’s a bonus as I loved the finish.
This velvety, richly-pigmented cream delivers an exceptional 10 hours of continuous wear for both the lips & cheeks, without the dryness. Formulated with Pumpkin Seed Oil to help rejuvenate damaged skin and delicious Rhubarb extract to help further protect skin from moisture loss throughout the day.
I love the formula which feels velvety soft as soon as it touches the lips and the shade itself really packs a punch whilst keeping your lips feeling silky smooth. The only downside for me is the colour looked more coral on my lips as opposed to a pink shade so depending on the tone of your lips the shade will vary.
3. The Beauty Crop Lightning Crew – Full Size RRP £12.00
When my skin is feeling a little lack-luster I find that highlighters really enhance that glow so was pleased to see a handy sized tube from The Beauty Crop.
Lighting Crew promises to perk up your complexion, accentuate the features you love and leave you with a natural radiance. Packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants derived from Pineapple and Green Tea, our Highlighting Cream will add a healthy, luminous glow.
The shade is a golden bronze with a very fine shimmer to it and being pale this really warms up my face in a way a bronzer would without imparting as much colour. The golden sheen really gives the effect of being out in the sun without actually going outside!
4. So Susan Creme Couture- Full Size RRP £13.00
The So Susan Creme Couture is soft-focus cream, blush with Wrinkle Relief Complex and boasts a cutting-edge mixture of rich cream and luminescent powder, for a truly revolutionary blush that is seamless, soft-focus and with a subtle halo effect.
This creamy matte peach/coral shade seems a little intimidating at first, but it’s actually a very wearable colour that gives a healthy flush of colour to the cheeks. It’s buildable formula means it can be applied sheer or you can go all out with a more bold finish.
When the weather starts to get warmer I much prefer a barely there look during the day so this is perfect for when you want minimal colour, but don’t want to go bare.
5. Anchor Bracelet (Bonus Item) – RRP £8.00
As well as the make-up you can expect to see an adorable anchor bracelet inside this month’s bag. It’s so pretty and definitely something that I’ll be wearing.
My Verdict
It’s hard to resist the lure of glowing skin as the weather starts to warm up and this month’s Lip Love bag incorporates a beautiful collection to bring a little sunshine to your make up bag. The pretty illustrations and quotes really embraces all things summer and has definitely got me dreaming about sun, sea and sand! Whilst the Lip Love bag is still fairly new I’ve been really impressed with the variety so far and each month delivers something very different as So Susan are always churning out new revolutionary products so you can always expect to discover something new as well as some of their classic products too. I love the design of the canvas make-up bag and the pretty abstract artwork is designed specifically to match the theme each month which is really impressive.
It’s definitely refreshing to see just a make-up based subscription which not only is cruelty-free but kind to the skin too without compromising on any of the quality. This concept by So Susan really gives you a great opportunity to experiment with make up that usually may be out of your comfort zone.
The contents within the bag is worth an incredible £56.00 and beats the actual price of the bag itself making it super affordable and exceptional value.
