In the land of nod this is probably the kind of beauty box I dream about and with the likes of lust-worthy brands such as Michael Kors, Dolce & Gabanna, Cargo Cosmetics and Too Faced it’s definitely a dream come true inside this month’s spectacular May Cohorted Beauty Box. Just when I think I’ve seen the best from Cohorted they go and pull out another showstopping edition that boasts four full sized products with an incredible value of over £90.00. I’m so impressed although I wouldn’t expect anything less as month on month they feature a great array of products from a wealth of quality brands at such an affordable price that’s just brimmed with the unexpected. For those of you who are not familiar with Cohorted, they are an online cult beauty retailer who provide a much fairer price when it comes to purchasing well known and loved brands such as Urban Decay, Benefit, MAC, NARS, Dolce & Gabbana, Real Techniques, plus many more.

The May edition features a jaw dropping line up worth over £90.00 and as always the contents come beautifully presented within a chic black box secured with an organza ribbon giving it a very luxurious look and feel.

1.   Cargo Cosmetics Vintage Escape Eye Palette – Full Size RRP £35.00

This is actually my first Cargo Cosmetics item which I’m really excited about and it really is love at first sight!

The palette is housed within a brown faux leather case giving it a true vintage look and inside there’s a mirror alongside a double-ended brush.

Inside you’re greeted to 12 eye shadows consisting of four mattes and eight satin/shimmer shades. The colours are all warm toned and are so buttery soft, easy to blend and are incredibly pigmented that you only have to dab the brush lightly to achieve the colour which is really impressive.

The colours are so beautiful and versatile, there’s so many combinations that can be used for both day and night time looks. I’m so happy to have this palette in my collection, it really gives scope for creativity and contains everything from highlighters, definers, blending shades and eyeliners.

2.   Micheal Kors Lip Lacquer  –  Full Size RRP £23.50

Your eyes are not deceiving you! Cohorted have featured a Michael Kors lipstick this month and being a big fan of this luxurious brand I was delighted to try out a lipstick from their beauty collection.

The packaging alone is true to the Michael Kors signature look and feels very glamorous housed within gold casing. I received the shade Dame and whilst it looks like quite a full-on dark plum, it’s surprisingly isn’t at all. The lipstick is glossy, sheer, feels super moisturising and the colour builds up great for when you want it a bit more opaque, which is something I quite like as sometimes it’s just nice to have a bit of colour without going all out!

3.   Dolce & Gabbana Lace Nail Lacquer – Full Size RRP £19.00

Being a nail varnish obsessive I was delighted to see a Dolce & Gabbana nail lacquer in the shade Perfection from their lace collection which consists of nudes and natural shades.

The packaging is very chic and the lace designed lid is bound to catch anyone’s attention, it’s so beautiful. The shade itself is the perfect everyday nude that will stylishly take you from day to night.

4.    Too Faced Exotic Color Eyeshadow – Full Size RRP £15.00

Whilst I’ve been really enjoying the make up I’ve discovered from Too Faced this eyeshadow was featured a couple of months ago but in a different shade which isn’t an issue for me but I would of liked to have seen something other than an eyeshadow as the Cargo Palette has definitely compensated in this area!  Nevertheless the shade Poison Orchid looks absolutely stunning in the pan and when applied it shows off all it’s beauty with a iridescent amethyst base with fine specks of glitter. The shade has such an unexpected twist and really achieves a vivid pop of colour, perfect for nights out.

My Verdict

It’s pretty surreal and novel to open a beauty box and be presented with this kind of line up and the May edition without a doubt will certainly be a crowd pleaser for those who managed to get their hands on one. There’s so much to love about this month’s box and whilst I’m always blown away by their curations, this edition by far has stolen the show for me. They’ve not been in the beauty box game for long but for me Cohorted definitely stand out and deliver something quite luxe and unique with lust-worthy brands on board.  This month’s box featured four full sized products and has an incredible value of £92.50 which is really impressive when you take into account the price of the box itself.

I really lust over premium brands but not knowing how the product will perform is the main factor which usually stops me from splurging out, but this box really gives you an opportunity to try before you buy at such a steal. In terms of the brands, the size of the products and the value of each box the quality has remained consistent and whilst the box is expensive compared to the others it really is worth spending the extra. If you need a little cheering up or a guilt-free treat each month this box can be purchased as a one off transaction so there’s no subscription involved giving you full control and flexibility to purchase as and when you want to.
