The May My Little Box has landed and this month’s theme is ultimately focused around the truly picturesque and charming beauty of Provence. With this mind the line up includes a good mix of samples from L’Occitane, an exceptional brand that was born and bread in Provence and their products just scream luxury and quality with display windows that entice me in without fail whenever I walk past a store. Being a fan I was chuffed to see a generous selection of their products housed within this month’s edition alongside some lifestyle treats too in the form of some magnets and a chic customisable gold cuff bracelet that I absolutely adore, perfect if you love to coordinate your accessories with your outfits. As always, this box never fails to impress me with this months edition being no exception. From it’s chic presentation to the stylish and luxe contents within, it beautifully captures this month’s theme.

My Little Box is a hand-picked and beautifully designed box of beauty, fashion and lifestyle surprises. With fashion accessories, beauty products and other goodies created exclusively for you and based around a different theme every month, each box promises to delight their subscribers. They also produce their in house beauty products known as My Little Beauty.

The May edition features an impressive seven items and includes a mixture of skin and body products and make up, all contained within a charming drawstring bag alongside two lifestyle items. Enclosed is the My Little World Magazine which has had a make-over and now opens up as a poster and inside you can expect to see an interview with the beautiful Really Ree, alongside some beauty tips, cuff designs and on the reverse there’s a massive poster which was quite a nice surprise.

1.  Mer & Mistral Shower Gel – Travel Size 50ml

The Mer & Mistral Fresh Shower Gel gently cleanses the skin, leaving it freshly perfumed and leaves the skin feeling clean with an invigorating scent.

This little sample of shower gel brings the sea and the wind of Southern France straight to you in a bottle with a refreshing blend of aquatic and aromatic fragrance that’s bound to give you a little pick me up in the morning.

2.  Roses Et Reines Hand and Nail Cream  – Travel Size 10ml

If you read my posts regularly you will already know that I’m a fan of hand creams so I very much welcome this mini sized version that’s perfect for popping into the handbag or even the smallest clutch bag.

The cream is light in texture and enriched with shea butter and vitamin E to help soften both the hands and cuticles. It absorbs into the skin almost instantly without feeling sticky or greasy and best of all it’s my favourite type of scent that combines extracts of roses from Grasse, Bulgaria, Morocco and Turkey with a unique rose extract from Haute-Provence. Sometimes rose scented products can smell quite sickly but this strikes the perfect balance.

3.  Verbena Body Lotion  – Travel Size 30ml

This is an absolute gem that I’ve purchased quite a few times. It is a very light gel-cream which feels lovely and cooling on the skin due to the mint extract it contains and absorbs very quickly, making it perfect for the summer without comprising on the hydration factor. It smells absolutely divine with a uplifting citrus scent that reminds me of lemon sorbet.

4.  Verbena Leaf Soap – Travel Size 25g

This for me is probably the most interesting product within the beauty line up as it’s from the same verbena range as the body lotion and is an exfoliating soap for the face that contains crushed verbena leaves and guarantees to not leave your skin feeling dry. I can’t wait to give this a go.

5.  My Little Beauty Eyeshadow Crayon – Full Size RRP £9.00

I think it’s pretty amazing that My Little Box also have their own beauty range which is called My Little Beauty.

This month see’s a full sized eyeshadow crayon in a beautiful metallic brown shade. The colour really packs a punch and looks absolutely stunning when applied. Due to my oily lids these types of crayons never seem to remain in tact and usually tend to crease so it will be interesting to see how this one holds up.

4. Lifestyle Items

This month’s box included two lifestyle items which really complemented the theme, although I really wouldn’t expect anything less from My Little Box.

First up is the My Little Doll Magnets (RRP £6.00), a sheet of magnets consisting of a doll and various outfits and accessories to affix onto your fridge.

Last but certainly not least is the Embroidary Cuff (RRP £15.00) that comes presented within it’s own little box and contains everything you could possibly need to get your creativity juices flowing. It’s such a unique concept that allows you to customise the cuff with the cotton provided or you can simply use your own. I really love the idea behind this and you can chop and change as and when especially if you love to coordinate your accessories with your wardrobe. Tip – to stop the end of the thread fraying I burned the end, it was so much easier to thread through the holes.

 My Verdict

Month on month, inside and out, My Little Box truly wows me. The extra little touches, the intricate details alongside the line up fits in aptly with the theme and brings the beauty of Provence straight to your doorstep. I loved all of the mini L’Occitane products which will certainly come in useful for traveling although I think it’s very unlikely these will make it to the suitcase as I’m pretty eager to start using these! The lifestyle items this month are fun and creative, and whilst the magnets didn’t particularly excite me I’m really chuffed with the embroidery cuff.

This box offers something very different compared to the other boxes and if their previous boxes are anything to go by you will certainly not be disappointed. It’s definitely a showstopper and one which is beautifully composed with their very own in-house illustrator, Kanako. Every month the box truly captures me and the contents and loveliness inside is even more pleasing, it’s something which My Little Box do extremely well.

If you like chic and adorable lifestyle items along with good beauty brands, you will simply fall in love with this box and I can’t recommend it enough! It really does deliver something very magical which is guaranteed to make you smile.
