It’s been quite a while since my last Look Fantastic Beauty Box review so I’m delighted to be reunited again even more so as the *August edition features a great line-up with quite a few new discoveries on board. Each month Look Fantastic’s established experience alongside their brand portfolio really shines through when they curate their boxes and whilst there is a repeat there’s plenty inside that’s got me interested. As always the box features a variety of both well-known and premium brands and contains generous sized samples as well as full sized products.

The Look Fantastic box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skincare, haircare, cosmetic and body products, catering to every kind of beauty lover.

This month’s box is filled with an incredible 6 beauty treats which have been carefully selected and features products from Eve Lom, Rimmel, , Beauty Works, Alterna, Bellapierre and Omorovicza.

1.   Eve Lom Cleanser and Muslin Cloth – Travel Size 30ml.

If you’ve followed Look Fantastic’s journey from the start, this cleansing balm by Eve Lom was featured inside their November edition which isn’t an issue for me as I love this luxurious cleanser.

Perfect for even the most sensitive skin, this pioneering cult beauty balm which featured in Vogue Magazine was recognised as probably the best cleanser in the world. Whilst its heavenly formula removes traces of make-up including waterproof mascara it also works well as decongesting, toning and exfoliating the skin gently. The scent is really nice too and stems from a bespoke blend of skin loving ingredients such as Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Cloves and Hops.

2.    Beauty Works 10-in-1 Miracle Spray –  Travel Size 50ml .

Gone are the days where you had buy separate styling products for your hair all thanks to the revolutionary all-in-one products which claim to do everything in one single spritz. Not only are they time savers but their a very inexpensive way to obtain multiple benefits.

With ingredients such as argan and macadamia, this innovative formula replenishes lost oils in the hair and helps to eliminate frizz, restore shine, nourishes, replenishes oils, protects from heat, detangles, conditions, prevents split ends, enhances natural body and repairs dry, damaged hair.

Beauty Works isn’t a brand I’ve heard of before but their 10-in-1 Miracle Spray has me got me very intrigued, I don’t think any of my current hair products benefit from being a 10-in-1 and it’s even suitable to use on hair extensions.

3.    Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist  –  Sample Size 1.8ml.

Omorovicza is a luxurious high-end skincare brand that hails all the way from Budapest, Hungary and having tried their cleansing balm in May I was excited to see the Queen of Hungry Mist inside the box but the sample is tiny!

Trying my best to spray the absolute minimum the mist is beautiful and light and absorbed within seconds without leaving any sticky residue on the skin. The mist is said to be inspired by thermal waters in Hungary, known for its ancient healing and skin care benefits. The Queen of Hungary Mist contains this special Hungarian water as well as orange, rose and sage waters known for their soothing and revitalising properties.

From what I’ve tried so from Omorovicza’s range this again does not fall short of what I would expect. The mist gives you the moisture your skin needs and also awakens the skin, perfect after a restless night or a long day at work.

4.    Caviar CC Cream  – Sample Size 25ml

BB and CC creams are all the rage for the face and recently CC Creams are taking their multitasking benefits and moving over to haircare. The Alterna’s Caviar CC Cream 10 in 1 Complete Correction is a leave-in hair perfector that gives you 10 benefits in one little tube.
It offers moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, UV protection, manageability, strength, heat protection, and light hold. You can use it on wet or dry hair as an instant pick me up.

5.    Bellepierre Shimmer Powder – Full Size RRP £12.99

I love the shimmer powders from Bellepierre, they have wonderful pigmentation, blend really easily with little fallout and are an ultimate all-in-one mineral make up product that you can mix with lip balm, clear nail polish, and with a drop of water it even becomes an eyeshadow and an eyeliner.

I received Snowflake, a really white shimmer not a shade I would of picked out myself but it’s fab for brightening the inner corner of your eye, although I might try mixing this with some clear nail varnish!

6.    Rimmel Wake Me Up Mascara – Full Size RRP £7.99

Late nights plus early starts doesn’t end well for me so if there’s something that claims to lend a helping hand and wake up my eyes I’m in!

This mascara comes in a fetching green tube which I suspect is due to the fact it contains cucumber extracts. It claims to wrap each and every lash with defined, clump-free volume, lifting & stretching them all the way up for an eye awakening effect!

The precision hourglass shaped brush does somewhat pull your lashes up and out for an eye wakening effect but the brush itself it quite difficult to work with. In terms of volume and length I didn’t really notice a huge difference but the thing that stood out the most for me was how long this stayed on for and the black formula.

This doesn’t make my eyes look any more awake than other mascara’s, but the hint of cucumber adds a nice touch and is really refreshing.

My Verdict

As always Look Fantastic have showcased a great selection of premium, emerging and well-known brands this month with quite a few highlights majority of which were new discoveries for me so it was great to see these inside the box. I’m a little miffed why they’ve included two very similar hair products this month and would have liked to have seen something different but that being said both of the hair products are usable and it will be interesting to see how these perform. There was somewhat of an anti-climax with the Omorovizca Mist especially when I discovered how small the sample was but the remainder of the products are very generous and there’s also two full sized products totaling an impressive value of £55.00.

The Look Fantastic Beauty Box without a doubt gives you ample opportunity to try more upmarket beauty brands without the hefty price tag and for only £15.00 it’s a great way to trial beauty products from brands we all love and know alongside some new discoveries too.

The August box is available now and as a special treat, Look Fantastic have added 30 x ‘FOREO Mini Save The Sea Special Edition – Sea Blue’, worth £99.00, to 30 random boxes. Will you be one of the lucky ones?
