With festival season upon us the early arrival of the June ‘Festival Edit’ Glossybox features a selection of festival essentials to keep you looking good with minimal fuss and most importantly majority of the products are luggage light too. You can expect to see a line up that mainly consists of skin and body products this month alongside a summery nail varnish with three out of five being full sized. In my opinion it’s not the most exciting box and the value isn’t particularly great either but there’s a couple of highlights that I was happy to be introduced to.

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 4-5 selected hair, make-up , body and nail products from well-known brands and new brands and includes a mixture of full sized and sample products.

1. Monu Spa Rosewood Reviving Mist  – Travel Size 50ml

I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve tried so far from Monu and with the warmer days approaching some time soon it’s always handy to keep a mist in the handbag or when traveling to beat the heat or to simply re-charge tired, dull skin.

The Monu Reviving Mist contains Lemon, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Petitgrain, Geranium, Clove and Clary Sage. The combination provides a light fragrance that refreshes, tones and set’s makeup.

The spray itself is really light which is ideal, I’ve used some which douse your face and make it that little bit too wet. This just delivers the perfect amount of fine mist all over your skin and whilst it can be used for both the face and body it makes a pretty good make up setting spray that gave me a lovely dewy and fresh look.

2. Halo Fragrance Free Facial Wipes – Travel Size. RRP £1.20

Some sort of cleansing wipe is essential when you’re in a muddy field for a couple of days and this travel-sized packet from Halo are fragrance-free and dermatologically approved making them suitable for even sensitive skin.

Formulated to gently cleanse your skin removing any make-up, including waterproof mascara with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera to help leave your skin feeling cleansed and moisturised.

Festival goer or not these will certainly come in handy for the Summer or when traveling.

3. Kueshi Anticellulite Booster – Full Size 150ml RRP £14.55

I discovered Kueshi from a previous Glossybox in the form of a toner which I absolutely loved but I’m not really sold by anti cellulite products and I would of been happier with just a normal body lotion. It’s a very generous full sized product and is the most expensive item this month.

This light weight cream claims to stimulate blood circulation whilst toning your skin and fighting off any dimples and you simply apply to the legs twice a day.

4.  Essence Gel Nail Polish –  Full Size RRP £1.71

Nothing says summer like a bright nail polish and I was delighted to see a royal blue shade from the Essence Gel Collection. It’s a gorgeous bold colour which will look great with that go-to nautical striped top. There’s a few shade variants this month but they equally all look very summery.

5.  Glossybox Flash Tattoos – Full Size RRP £6.50

If you’re a regular reader you will already know that as much as these tattoos are really popular and on-trend I’m still in two minds about them even more so when I see the Glossybox logo as one of the designs! For those of who do like these tattoos there’s some pretty designs which have been exclusively designed for Glossybox subscribers.

UPDATE: I’ve been using the tattoos on my nails and they look ever so pretty. I’m so happy that I’ve found a use for them!

My Verdict

We all know what it’s like; too much fun and so little time to carry out some of those essential beauty routines so when the spoiler of the June theme was released my high hopes had already kicked in. There was so much potential for this to be a great curation this month but unfortunately for me the box was lacking it’s usual sparkle.  Nonetheless I was happy to discover a couple of highlights inside the box in the form of the nail polish and the mist spray.

Whilst this this month’s box included three full sized products the value isn’t particularly great and totals up to around £23.96 but with that being said the sizes of the products are generous making them ideal for festivals and weekends away.
