After last month’s disappointment I’m pleased to report that the *July Glossybox is back on form even more so than usual with their Vive La France edition which makes a very fashionable statement in true parisian style in collaboration with fashion illustrator Jamie Lee Reardin who has worked with French fashion houses Dior and Balmain. This collectors edition is adorned with beautiful artwork and with so much attention to detail I really can’t stop admiring it. Keeping to the French theme there’s a selection of french beauty brands on board from both well-known brands alongside some new discoveries and if that’s not enough to get you excited you will also find a very chic designed make up bag which I absolutely adore it’s such a lovely addition. I think you’ll agree this month’s box just oozes charm and french glamour and I think it just so happens to be their best edit yet and one not to be missed.

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 4-5 selected hair, make-up , body and nail products from well-known brands and new brands and includes a mixture of full sized and sample products.

1. Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Cream – Sample Size 15ml

I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve tried so far from Vichy  and with the warmer days my oily skin much prefers a lighter alternative such as the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Cream.

The cream combines Vichy thermal spa water and a micro-encapsulated delivery system of Activ Hyaluronine to improve the diffusion of moisture into the surface of the epidermis. The skin feels replenished with water, as if continuously hydrated by misting micro-sprays and claims that skin will be refreshed, velvety soft and free of the sensation of tightness all day long.

Having tried this from a previous box this soaks in really quickly, almost like my skin is drinking up the moisture. There’s no greasiness or unwanted shine, just a slight botanical scent which isn’t offensive at all if you don’t mind scented skincare products. If your skin is dehydrated, tired or dull then this is a reliable and an efficient everyday staple which feels even more soothing if left in the fridge and also gives you the perfect base for foundation application.

2. Lollipops Lip Balm Dèlicieuse – Full Size. RRP £4.15

Lollipops Paris is a brand I recently discovered so was happy to be introduced to another product from their collection.  The Délicieuse Lip Balm comes in a pretty pink tube and has the feel of a gloss but unlike a lip gloss it has nourishing qualities without the stickiness. It comes in a delicious vanilla scent and contains antioxidants and vitamin E to soothe and soften the lips.

3. Teoxane Cosmeceuticals Perfect Skin Refiner – Sample Size 15ml. Worth £14.34

There’s a couple of new brand discoveries inside this month’s box starting with the Teoxane Cosmeceuticals Perfect Skin Refiner. The formula promises to plump and hydrate the skin with it’s potent mix of super-powered ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and 10% glycolic acid which helps the skin to resurface as well as calming ingredients to reduce irritation.

The powerful moisture-binding ingredients alone has got me really interested in trying this out.

4.  Noxidoxi Enhancing Serum Base –  Sample Size 25ml. Worth £20.75

Another new discovery on board is the Noxidoxi Enhancing Serum Base which boasts a CRC6 moisturising complex to keeps the surface of your skin well-moisturised whilst also penetrating deep down to hydrate the skin cells.

This all-round protection thanks to the combination of an anti-inflammatory agent and an essential antioxidant will protect your skin against the harmful effects of the outside world, sounds ideal for those who live in areas where pollution is high.

5.  Glossybox Exclusive Travel Pouch –  RRP £3.99

Last but certainly not least is the chic Travel Pouch which is exclusive to Glossybox, it’s a lovely addition inside the box and without a doubt will be really popular with subscribers this month. I love the design it’s so spot on with the french theme and being transparent this will also get you stylishly through security if you’re planning on going away.

My Verdict

So, in order to inject a bit of French fabulousness into our everyday lives, Glossybox have indeed come up with the perfect curation design wise and the contents inside. That being said I have a feeling it won’t be to everyone’s taste especially if you’re not fan of too much skincare inside a single curation but I can see why they’ve done this, after all the French are renowned for their skincare right? For me personally there’s definitely some interesting products to try out this month and whilst there’s only one full sized product (not including the pouch) I think it does exactly what I want it to do, and that’s to provide me with a variety of generous sized samples with an opportunity to discover some french brands and products. I’d say Glossybox did great this month so if you’re a sucker for beauty sampling and all things French, you’ll love the Vive La France Edition.
