Globally renowned across ten countries, Glossybox celebrate their fourth birthday in style this month and to mark the occasion the *August edition is a true birthday treat filled with beauty discoveries from both near and far giving subscribers an opportunity to get their hands on some hidden gems from well known brands as well as some new discoveries mainly sourced from Spain, Sweden, UK and the USA. I love the line up this month the majority is make up (yay!) alongside some skin and body care products and overall there’s a great opportunity to try out some home-grown greats from around the world. The box also boasts five full sized products so it’s incredible value for money this month.

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 4-5 selected hair, make-up , body and nail products from well-known brands and new brands and includes a mixture of full sized and sample products.

1.  MeMeMe Lipglide in Playful Peach – Full Size RRP £6.95

I am a huge fan of lip crayons, especially this time of the year. They are so easy to put on and this one is particular isn’t chunky making precision application easy peasy!

Playful Peach is a lovely matte coral shade with great pigmentation and longevity.  The texture is creamy and doesn’t dry out your lips like other matte lip products.

MeMeMe Cosmetics feature quite regularly inside Glossybox and this by far is probably the best product I’ve tried from the collection.

2.  Manna Kadar Lash Primer – Full Size 4g. RRP £14.55

If there’s a product that bestows an immediate change for the better in an instant it has me interested in a flash and this is definitely one of those gems.

This lash primer nourishes and enhances lashes by creating a base coat to amplify any mascara’s effect. It can also be worn at night to condition the lashes.

I wasn’t sure what to expect but after a few tries, this primer makes some of my mascara’s known to clump less clumpy. By applying the primer first, my lashes were separated and lengthened which then allowed the mascara to follow suit, this is definitely one of the highlights this month.

3.  Emite Artist Colour Powder Blush – Full Size. RRP £20.59

Another very generous sized product is the Artist Colour Powder Blush in the shade 108 from Swedish brand Emite.

Boasting a smooth formula and balanced pigments, this promises to lift your cheekbones and give your face a natural look containing the mineral Mica which is reflective to give beautiful luster and  smoothing effect.

The shade does look a little scary in the pan and is considerably dark compared to what I currently use but once blended out this really gives your cheeks a lovely pop of colour with a matte finish. It’s heavily pigmented too so a little really goes a long way.

4.  Naobay Calming Face Toner – Full Size 200ml RRP £10.65

Naobay is a brand that hails from Spain and inside this month’s box there’s a very generous sized Calming Face Toner from their collection.

This refreshing citrus-scented lotion provides a 4-in-1 skincare action that promises to effectively remove traces of makeup and impurities from the skin as well as cleansing, toning and soothing thanks to the goodness of the Chamomile and Gotu Kola extracts.

The scent is a little weird in terms of I can’t really pinpoint any of the key notes and it definitely doesn’t have a zesty scent, I was expecting something more calming although it’s not unpleasant by any means. The toner itself is light and dries pretty quick without leaving any residue Whilst it’s too early to tell if this is benefiting my skin on the plus side it’s not caused any irritation or break outs since I’ve been using it.

5.   SASS Purifying Cleanser –  Full Size 100ml. RRP £7.00

SASS have featured inside quite a few beauty boxes this year and whilst there will be mixed reactions I think it’s a great essential especially during the time of the month. In case you’re wondering this is for the intimate area and has been created to help you feel fresh throughout the day.

Their gentle formula contains special Ecodermine technology that acts as a probiotic to maintain intimate harmony, soothes your skin and helps you be at your best. In other news I left this in the shower a couple of nights ago and in the morning to my horror my husband had told me that he had used my new facial cleanser! Let’s just say he wasn’t amused when I told him what it was for, that will teach him to use my products!

My Verdict

I really love this month’s edition and in my opinion it ticks all the boxes for me – new discoveries, all full sized products, incredible value and everything’s very usable. There’s some great highlights from all over the world and introduces you to brands and products you might not have otherwise found which is what beauty boxes are all about although the only downside is  some of them aren’t easy to get hold of in the UK.

For me personally there’s definitely some interesting products to try out this month and what’s made me even more happier is the fact that the majority is make up! The content value is absolutely amazing this month and totals up to nearly £60.00.

Glossybox always include a generous amount of full sized products and the total value always beats the actual monthly subscription cost so it’s a great affordable way to discover products from well known and new brands. It also comes beautifully wrapped and feels very much like receiving a gift each month.
