As always the *Cohorted Beauty Box is one that I’m always keen to get my hands on, not only is it a novel box where you’ll find medium, high end and luxurious brands nestled inside it’s very own signature black box but it’s also great for those who simply want to grow their beauty collection or simply want a guilt-free treat each month without breaking the bank balance. The August edition features another great line up featuring brands that we all love and know and boasts four full sized products and an extra bonus sample totaling an incredible value of £66.00.

The August edition features lots of new discoveries from the brands Cargo, Bare Minerals, Laura Geller and Molton Brown. As always the contents come beautifully presented inside their signature black box secured with an organza ribbon giving it a very luxurious look and feel.

1. Bare Escentuals i.d Bare Vitamins Skin Rev-er Upper – Full Size RRP £15.00

One of the products which caught my attention inside this month’s box was the Skin Rev-er Upper by Bare Minerals.

With make-up prep and moisturing in mind, the Skin Rev-er Upper is a daily multi-vitamin supplement loaded with botanical extracts and AHA’s to re-energize and smooth out your complexion to boost make up application and unlike a primer you wear this underneath your moisturiser. It also benefits from spot busting ingredient salicylic acid which is something that really appeals to me and I love that whilst I have my make up on there’s a protective barrier underneath looking after my skin and spots too!

2. Laura Geller Baked Impressions Duo Eyeshadow – Full Size RRP £15.00

This is my first introduction to the Laura Geller range so I was delighted to see this eyeshadow duo that’s embossed with an elegant floral pattern – it’s so pretty.

The eyeshadow in the shade Fine Wines comes in a small round compact with a transparent top and inside there’s a mirror which is handy when you’re out and about. As well as being beautiful to look at it’s also easy to apply and with the plum shade being more pigmented than the pink the partnership really works well together.

3. Bare Minerals Soft Focus Brush – Full Size RRP £20.00

Personally I don’t think beauty tools are featured enough inside beauty boxes so I very much welcome this make up brush by Bare Minerals.

Ideally you would use this brush with the Bare Minerals powder but due to its versatility it works just as well for applying foundation, bronzer, blusher and powder. It feels so soft on the face and is great for when you want lighter coverage.

4. Cargo Eye Colour Quad Palette – Full Size RRP £10.00

Although this eyeshadow quad from Cargo was released a few years ago, it really is gorgeous inside and out. Since being introduced to some of Cargo’s collection mainly from previous Cohorted editions I’ve been really impressed with their eyeshadows. The shades are rich, pigment-packed, and feel super smooth and this quad is no exception as the same qualities have definitely been passed down to this fantastic foursome.

There were various shade variants this month and I received Bermuda, a lovely mix of earthy shades which reminds me of autumn so I’ll be saving this one.

The compact itself is really sturdy with a good size mirror and for a quad, the eyeshadows are pretty generously sized.

5. Molton Brown Relaxing Yuan Zhi Body Cream – Sample Size 30ml Worth £6.00

I’m not a big fan of Molton Brown but there’s a few collections which I absolutely love and Relaxing Yuan Zhi thankfully is one of them!

The Relaxing Yuan Zhi is ideal for the evenings especially after a shower as the scent alone is wonderfully soothing and relaxing and what I love the most about this body lotion is the fact that the scent actually lingers for a while aiding a good nights sleep!

My Verdict

Cohorted have once again curated another great edition but I can’t help but feel there’s an overkill with the eyeshadows again which isn’t terrible by any stretch of the imagination considering their full sized, good quality and from well-known brands. I guess for me personally I would have liked to have seen a different type of make up product to balance out the line up but nonetheless I think everything’s very usable and there’s nothing that I won’t continue to use. This month’s box includes four full sized products and one sample totaling an amazing value of £66.00 and as always the value always exceeds the cost of the box.

I really lust over premium brands and this box really gives you ample opportunity to discover well known and loved brands for a fraction of the price with the majority of the products being full sized.

If you need a little cheering up or a guilt-free treat each month this box can be purchased as a one off transaction so there’s no subscription involved giving you full control and flexibility to purchase as and when you want to.

In other news Cohorted will be launching their white edition box in October so I’ll be sure to keep you all updated as and when they release more information.

The September edition will be available on the 1st September at 6pm via:
