Beauty Pick of the Month – June 2014

image

Every month I pick my favourite product which I received from one of my Beauty Subscription boxes.

This month my favourite without no doubt was the iconic Beautyblender which I received in my Birchbox and definitely deserves to be in the spotlight this month. This literally was a savior for me and my MAC foundation which nearly got disposed of until discovering this unique and effective tool.

I currently own a Beautyblender however it’s seen better days so welcomed this new one.  A few months ago I was having trouble applying a high coverage MAC foundation which looked wonderful and easy to apply when tried in the MAC store however it was a different story when I got home. I tried various brushes and sponges and it looked so cakey every time.  Eventually I gave up and it became a dormant product which just sat on the shelf. Then came  along the Beauty Blender a sponge created without edges in order to eliminate visible lines and streaks. It’s unique shape has so many uses. I really can’t recommend it enough. It leaves my foundation looking flawless and smooth unlike any other beauty tool.

I use the pointed side for hard-to-reach spots like around the nose, mouth, and under the eyes and the rounded base for foundation on the larger areas of my face such as my forehead, cheeks and chin. You can also use the pointed side to apply concealer too which I usually do.

This also came with a soap cleanser. This cleanser is a travel friendly alternative to the original liquid blender cleanser and provides the same cleansing results and soothing lavender fragrance.

This is a must-have item in everyone’s make up bag. You will never revert back to brushes and sponges after using this product. This has certainly become one of my staple products which I simply can’t live without.

This can be purchased from the Birchbox website here and the prices range from £16.00 onwards for the Beautyblender.

You can also earn reward points on all of your purchases at the Birchbox shop and redeem these points on any of their products online.

Beauty Pick of the Month – May 2014

Every month I pick my favourite product which I received from one of my Beauty Subscription boxes.

This month my favourite without no doubt was Benefit They’re Real Mascara which I received in my BirchBox

This mascara is the UK’s No.1 best-selling mascara! I was so happy to have received this as I have heard great things about this mascara and even better I got to try this out before buying a full-size one.
This claims to  lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts & separates. Their jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!
So does it live up to all the hype? It certainly does and to demonstrate this I have included a before and after picture and yes They’re Real!

I love the formula of this product and it definitely gave the effect of false lashes. It also lengthened and volumized my lashes.   A great mascara with noticeable results and I will definitely be buying the full size one once this one runs out.

ClaySpray
(Brightening White Clay with Ginseng Masque)

My favourite product which I received in April has to be the Brightening White Clay with Ginseng Masque by ClaySpray which was sent to me in my You Beauty Discovery Beauty Box.

Upon choosing my products I was so excited to see this in the selection menu as this is the first time I have seen a face mask in a spray formula. It’s no wonder that these sold out so quickly on the website!

ClaySpray is the first clay emulsion to come in a spray can which not only helps keep the clay fresh but pure also.

The founder of Clay Spray is Marian an Archaeologist by training. “Clay is intimately bond to the excavation deposits, where Archaeologists patiently scrapes away layer by layer from the most recent traces human settlements through the oldest until a virgin stratum is reached that no human has ever had contact with. A clay deposit that has not undergone any alterations since its geological formation millions of years ago. This is where the job of the Archeologist finished and the dream of Pharmaclay starts”

This product exfoliates and renews. Removes dead skin cells, revealing a fresh new skin surface with energising ginseng to brighten, for an immediate replenished healthy look and 95% of its ingredients are natural.

This mask is perfect for tired and dull skin (ideal for me as the pressures of work and late nights play a toll on my skin) This is for combination and normal skin types.

I definitely didn’t waste any time to try this product. I initially thought this could be sprayed straight onto the face however this certainly was not the case! As per the instructions I sprayed this into the palm of my hand. The spray releases a lot of product really fast so you do have to be really careful otherwise it could be quite disastrous with clay everywhere! I applied and left it on for about 20 minutes and it dried firm.

I rinsed in the shower, and magically I acquired radiant looking skin! My pores looked more refined and my skin did look noticeably better. I am so impressed with this product it really is a hidden secret amongst the Beauty market and only wished I came across this earlier. I am quite particular about face masks but this really is effective and the results are noticeable. I am using this on a weekly basis as part of my cleansing regime.

I have recently purchased the Mattifying Red Clay Mask and the Glow Red Clay with Cacao Mask from www.feelunique.com who are stockists of ClaySpray. I am looking forward to their arrival!

March Beauty Pick of the Month

English Laundry No7 Fragrance

My favourite product which I received in March has to be English Laundry No7 Fragrance which was sent to me in my BirchBox. This certainly was “Love at First Sight!”

Christopher Wicks, the designer and creator of all things English Laundry, was born a child of the Sixties in Manchester, England. In his early years,he found solace sketching shirts, shoes and guitars. What began as a pre-teen pastime.  His fashion empire includes everything from denim to dress shirts, footwear to fragrances.

Long known for his line of men’s scents, Christopher Wicks of English Laundry tweaked his No. 7 blend just for the ladies. Bright and fruity, the result is both flirty and fun, grounded with alluring hints of masculine musk

This scent consists of pear, jasmine blend with gardinia, vanilla and sandalwood.  What a great combination hence the lovely aroma!

This smelt absolutely amazing. A very sweet smell which I am a fan of. The scent lasted a while also. I can’t wait to receive my full size bottle which I ordered a few days ago.
