First things first, can we take a moment to admire the design of the *January Lip Love bag, it’s so pretty! This month’s theme is centered around loving yourself and celebrating life to the full and with the cold weather here to stay So Susan have curated the perfect line up to wake up dull winter complexions with a very versatile mix suiting all skin tones you’ll also be able to create anything from a subtle day look to something more glamourous for the evenings. Showcasing a collective of new discoveries from So Susan, Jelly Pong Pong and Trifle Cosmetics, the bag contains four items with an incredible value of £53.80.
The So Susan collection ranges from make-up to nail varnish combining their lovely portfolio of colours with science. Their philosophy is to create colours which last, are cruelty free and also much kinder to your skin. As well as the philosophy behind the brand, I love the feminine and pretty designed packaging which always stands out for me. I’ve tried quite a few products from their collection and already have a few firm favourites.
Each month, the Lip Love bag will include 3 full sized items and one bonus product from either Jelly Pong Pong or So Susan.
1. Lip Parfait in “Guilty Pug” by Trifle Cosmetics – Full Size RRP £12.95
If you love cute packaging and pugs you’re in for a real treat as this lipstick by Trifle Cosmetics is just adorable, how can you not love this!
This lip treatment and lipstick in one applies like butter to impart a soft, moisturizing shade of color to your lips. Infused with cocoa butter to keep lips plumped and hydrated all day long, as well as silicon-coated color pigments so the color is never dull or feathery, and lips look refreshed, hydrated and super soft.
The shade Guilty Pug is a dark nude with tons of pigment and a hydrating formula packed with lots of goodness.
2. So Susan Jello Shot – Full Size RRP £19.95
I love it when beauty and science join forces and this new addition to the So Susan collection is a gel-stain hybrid formula infused with Heat Shift™ technology that instantly transforms into a healthy, rosy flush upon contact onto your skin according to your body temperature.
On first impressions I was little startled by the bright orange formula but once applied to the skin it magically transformed into a rosy pink shade with a stain finish.
3. Jelly Pong Pong All Over Glow – Full Size RRP £9.95
If you’re skin’s a little lackluster from the cold weather then the All Over Glow by Jelly Pong Pong comes to the rescue with an oil-free lightweight luminizing gel, enriched with micronized pearlescent pigments & jasmine extract to highlight the face for a fresh, radiant complexion.
The shade is a lovely golden peach with subtle hints of gold shimmer and a little goes a very long way. The formula blends in effortlessly leaving a beautiful sheen that you can really see when the light reflects on the skin. As well as the cheeks and the brow bone, a very tiny amount can also be mixed in with foundation to add a little glow and warmth.
4. So Susan Liquid Shadow Palette in “Sumptuous Smoke” – Full Size RRP £10.95
The colder months definitely provide the best opportunity to experiment with darker shades and this month’s Lip Love Bag features the Liquid Shadow Palette in “Sumptuous Smoke”, something I’ve had my eye on for quite some time, it’s so gorgeous with a very good variety of warm sultry shades.
This one-of-a-kind liquid eyeshadow formulation is hot-poured and solidified to form a creamy firm powder. This unique production method results in a cream-powder hybrid with an airy texture that moisturises and melts onto the skin, making your shadows last longer, with no fall-out and enables your skin to breathe. It is infused with radiance-boosting minerals, Vitamin K to alleviate dark circles and Copper Peptide to promote collagen and elastin growth around the delicate eye area.
Containing a spectrum of shimmers and mattes, it allows you to go as sheer or intense as you like and it’s the perfect companion for when you’re on the go.
My Verdict
So Susan have curated yet another great edition that features a good variety of new and exciting make up discoveries this month as well as a gorgeous bag to match that’s got me yearning for hot, sunny days. Whilst the cold weather is here to stay, the line-up effortlessly warms things up with pops of colour to pep up dull complexions. As always the bag features all full sized products so it’s incredible value for money and great for those who want to discover more skin friendly and cruelty-free alternatives.
The Lip Love Bag literally caters for every make-up addict regardless of whether you’re a pro or just want to experiment with different products and shades that may usually be outside of your comfort zone. One of the aspects I really love is that So Susan are always churning out new revolutionary products so you can always expect to discover something new as well as some of their classic and popular products too. I’ve discovered some great products this year and can’t wait to see what So Susan have in store for 2016.
