I’ll hold my hands up and admit I wasn’t overly excited when I opened this month’s *Glossybox especially in comparison to their previous editions, but after having a little play it really isn’t as bad as I initially thought! Containing mainly a mixture of travel sized samples as well as two full sized products they’ve really nailed the Get Glowing theme with skin and make up fixes to haircare pick me ups to give your beauty regime a refresh in time for Spring as well as showcasing quite a few new discoveries from brands I’ve not heard of before. I’ve definitely seen them do a lot better, but for me I guess it’s just wasn’t that exciting but there’s definitely quite a few highlights that I’m delighted to have discovered.
Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 4-5 selected hair, make-up , body and nail products from well-known brands and new brands and includes a mixture of full sized and sample products.
1. Luxie Rose Gold Large Angled Face Brush – RRP £10.42
I love receiving beauty tools inside my boxes and this one by Luxe is ever so pretty and is definitely the star within this month’s box.
The Luxie pink and rose gold angled brush is the ideal makeup brush for all of your contouring needs. Its antibacterial synthetic bristles are cruelty-free and soft enough for the most sensitive skin. Cut to fit the natural contours of the face, this contour brush can be used with highlighter, illuminator, bronzer, and even blush.
2. Olay Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Cream – Sample Size 7ml. Full Size RRP £29.99
This perfecting cream promises to regenerate the skin’s appearance to help recapture healthy-looking youthful luminous skin that also reduces appearance of dark spots over time (8 weeks), hydrates, exfoliates and smoothes
The cream feels rich to the touch, but once you apply it feels more like a primer than a cream! It moisturises dry patches, and seems to have an overall mattifying and instant smoothing effect. It doesn’t give me that greasy shine that I fear, and it works well under makeup too.
3. Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum – Travel Size 15ml. Full Size RRP £28.81
4. -417 Catharsis Vitamin Mineral Shampoo and Conditioner Duo – Travel Size 40ml each. Full Size £16.89
One of my pet peeves when it comes to beauty boxes is when you either receive the shampoo or just the conditioner so I was delighted that Glossybox included both from -417’s Catharsis Vitamin Mineral range, a brand I’ve not heard of before but this duo has definitely sparked my interest with a formula that’s based on natural dead sea mud – something I’ve only used on my face!
Professionally treating the scalp and hair, the formula is based on natural Dead Sea mud, which is rich in unique minerals that stimulate the scalp and draw out impurities, and anti oxidants such as vitamins A, E, B, C and avocado oil that help repair sun damage. This product helps refresh and recharge the skin and hair cells, promoting new growth of strong, healthy cells and a glowing appearance. Benefits include reduction in dandruff, moisturised scalp and hair healthy shiny hair.
5. Collection Speedy Highlighter – RRP £3.99
As the name suggests, the Collection Speedy Highlighter is quick, easy and you don’t even need a brush to apply it! The colour is gorgeous; a beautiful rose gold shimmer which glides across the skin and works really well for my pale skin. It’s slightly pink toned so it looks relatively natural making it great for daytime use and you can amp it up a bit for the evenings too. I have a feeling this is going to become staple in my makeup bag!
My Verdict
While this months Glossybox isn’t going to bowl you over with it’s insanely high value, I think it does exactly what I want it to do, and that’s to provide me with a variety of samples to get my hair and skin spring-ready with a really useful line up that you’ll be able to incorporate into your daily regime. The products are definitely geared towards the season however unlike previous editions it just didn’t excite me as much but that being said there’s quite a few highlights that I’m delighted to have discovered.
The box features a mixture of full sized products as well as some samples this month so there’s an opportunity to give them a good trial run, plus there’s a good balance of well-known brands as well as new discoveries too making the unboxing experience much more interesting.
