First things first, can we take a moment to admire the *July LFSummerLovin Beauty Box, I love the dashing tropical colours with the pop of gold it’s got me yearning for those hot sunny days and although the weather has been rather wet and gloomy this months edition really does bring some summer cheer straight to our door with a rather fabulous line up to match. Covering a good area of beauty as well a couple of make up treats (yay!) this is by far one of my favourite editions this year. Showcasing well-known brands this months box is worth over £50.00 and includes the August Elle Magazine and 6 beauty treats and together they make the perfect companions for travel as well as some key staples to get us through the summer come rain or shine!
The Look Fantastic box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skincare, haircare, cosmetic and body products, catering for every beauty lover.
This month’s box is filled with a generous mix of treats and showcases This Works, Benefit, Nuxe, Kebelo, Bellapierre, and MITI.
1. This Works In Transit Camera Close-Up – Sample Size 20ml.
I love products that combine a few different things into one nifty bottle, and the In Transit Camera Close-Up by This Works is one of them making it such a great staple for travel. This moisturiser, mask and primer all in one formula promises to even, plump and brighten your skin with a powerful blend of repairing plant oils as well as a boost of caffeine to erase signs of fatigue and makes your skin look radiant.
The translucent white balmy-cream goes on transparent on the skin, leaves absolutely no residue behind and makes skin feels super smooth and ready for foundation. It has a soft-matte finish, which is perfect for those with slightly oily skin and it’s a great quick pick-me-up that not only leaves the skin feeling really fresh but hydrated too. You can also use this as a thick mask, while you are flying to lock in moisture.
2. Benefit Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil – Sample Size.
If you’ve been wanting to try out Benefit’s new game-changing brow collection that launched last month then you’re in luck as all subscribers can expect to see the Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil within this months line up.
I think the shades may vary but I received 6 which appears to be the darkest from the collection and is the perfect near match for me. I don’t usually opt for these kinds of pencils as I like more a pointed tip but the unique angular, tear drop like shape makes precise, yet quick and effortless brow shaping, something I wasn’t expecting at all. The formula glides on very smoothly and works great over sparse areas to quickly fill them in. While I wasn’t expecting to love this as much as I do, I’ll definitely be paying a little trip to the Benefit counter to explore the remainder of their range.
3. Nuxe Prodigieuse OR – Sample Size 10ml
The Nuxe Prodigieuse OR is a multi-usage dry oil for the face, body and hair which results in a beautiful veil of soft shimmer making it such a great addition to cheat that glow and luminosity, it’s like liquid gold in a bottle!
The consistency is quite thin and applies without any streaks and as the name suggests the finish is dry so you won’t feel oily or sticky. If you love perfumed body products then you’re in for a real treat as this carries the same signature scent as the original Nuxe Prodigieuse Oil and needless to say it’s absolutely gorgeous.
4. Kebelo Silk Anti-Frizz Cream Serum – Travel Size 15ml
Specially designed for all hair types or those having a frizzy spell, the Kebelo Silk Anti-Frizz Cream uses ‘superfood’ quinoa, amaranth and chamomile to smooth each strand weightlessly and revitalise hair. Helping to reduce styling time, it contributes to keeping hair healthy and stronger by not being overworked. With added argan and jojoba oil, hair is left nourished with a stunning shine and silky feel and boasts being Paraben free.
5. Bellapierre Lip and Cheek Stain – Full Size RRP £12.99
I love dual purpose products which not only save space but are great for when you’re on the go too. This Lip and Cheek stain in pink is the perfect shade for everyday and I can see this suiting all skin tones. I love how it blends effortlessly when applied onto the cheeks leaving behind a sheer wash of colour.
6. MI TI Bobbles – x3 RRP £4.95
Since discovering Invisibobbles, a few years ago I’ve never gone back to the typical elastic ties so it was exciting to see these bobbles from MI TI which look and feel identical. These hair rings don’t tug or pull your hair, won’t cause breakage or split ends and have a strong hold that works great with all hair types. They also do not leave a kink in your hair so you can go from hair up to long flowing hair without a trace! With different colours available, the MI TI bobbles are a pretty way to tie your hair up this summer.
My Verdict
From the striking box design to the ever so appropriate line up, this month’s Look Fantastic edit really embraces all things summer and I think it’s definitely one of their better curations with a balanced beauty menu that features some great essentials for this time of the year. As always they’ve stuck to the theme throughout something which always gets full marks from me and while some of their curations have been a little hit and miss for me in terms of my personal preferences, I don’t think there was anything I didn’t like this month! Sadly there are a few brand repeats again but it was great to see the likes of Benefit, This Works and Nuxe on board, brands that I already use and love plus with two full sized products and the remainder being travel-friendly there’s a good opportunity to determine if they work for you or not.
