First things first, Happy Birthday Look Fantastic! This month, their Beauty Box turns two years old – it sure feels longer than two years since they ventured into the subscription market! With this in mind their September celebratory edition is geared towards getting us party-ready and is well rounded showcasing a mainly make-up line up in addition to some skin, hair and body care samples. After last month’s skincare heavy box I’m delighted with their picks but I can’t help but feel that it’s a little underwhelming for a birthday box plus I was hoping for at least one item to be full sized. Nonetheless there’s some familiar brands on board plus some new finds too so it’s a good balance and with six good sized samples you’ll be able to judge whether they work for you or not. I’m a little sad that the Elle Magazine hasn’t been featured so I hope it makes a return soon!
The Look Fantastic box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skincare, haircare, cosmetic and body products, catering for every beauty lover.
This month’s box is filled with a generous mix of treats and showcases Lord & Berry, Bareminerals, Bliss, Argan Liquid Gold, Christophe Robin and Gatineau.
1. Bareminerals Mini Moxi Lipstick – Travel Size
Described as a warm, rosy pink, the shade Get Ready leans more on the sheer side, but still provides good pigmentation, and has a nice creamy feel on the lips. This particular shade is very neutral and is such a easy to wear shade for everyday.
2. Argan Liquid Gold Multi-Tone BB Cream – Sample Size 10ml
If you wanted to go that one step further to achieve luminous skin then say hello to Argan Liquid Gold, a luxe brand that uses top quality organic argan oil in their products in addition to 24 carat gold!
The Multi-Tone BB Cream is specially designed to adapt to your skin tone, creating a flawless luminosity and natural, even colour coverage. The silky smooth formula is infused with Organic Argan Oil and 24 Carat Gold, together with other nourishing ingredients leaving the skin feeling hydrated and supple.
3. Lord & Berry Mini Strobing Pencil – Travel Size
Creamy and lightweight in texture, this strobing pencil which substitutes the Luminizer stick we should have received is such a gorgeous addition and is definitely one of my favourites inside this months box so I’m really glad they made the swap! The shade really exudes summer radiance and is a great way to accentuate key features without looking like a disco ball!
4. Bliss Lemon and Sage Maximum Moisture Cream – Travel Size 30ml
The Bliss Maximum Moisture Cream in Grapefruit was featured inside the February box and while I loved the formula I’m a little disappointed to see it again but on the plus side it’s a different scent!
With an uplifting scent of Lemon and Sage, the cream promises to leave skin soft, hydrated and subtly scented with a refreshing citrus fragrance. Its paraben-free formula contains coconut oil to rejuvenate, soybean to deliver nourishing vitamins and algae extract to improve suppleness and firmness of skin. The non-greasy, thick butter provides antioxidant heather flower extract helps to regenerate and deeply condition skin, whilst boosting cell renewal to fight against signs of ageing and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
This feels really light and absorbs super quick into the skin without making it feel greasy and another bonus is that the fragrance lingers on the skin for quite some time. I really love this, it’s refreshing and uplifting making it the ideal pick me for the mornings.
5. Christophe Robin Purifying Shampoo – Travel size 75ml
Dandruff is something all of us will experience at some point in our lives and the use of heat styling tools and stress in general doesn’t help my occasional bouts so I’m really keen to give this a go.
This lightweight, innovative formula promises to eliminate dandruff and relieve itching. Suitable for daily use, its unique, natural blend of Jujube Bark and Cherry Flower Extracts provides instant anti-dandruff action to minimise flaking, whilst regulating excess sebum and soothing the scalp for long-lasting comfort. 6. Gatineau Collagene Expert Eye Pads – x1 sachet
Drenched in a unique collagen solution, the Collegene Eye pads by Gatineau revitalise and hydrate the skin, whilst remaining gentle to the delicate eye area. Eye contours are refreshed with soothing allantoin and glycerin works effectively to moisturise skin to reduce signs of fatigue in just ten minutes.
My Verdict
Celebrating their second birthday, Look Fantastic have marked the occasion by putting together a party-ready collective of beauty samples, showcased within a beautiful celebratory box and hats off to them as they’ve stuck to the theme throughout. While the contents for their birthday edition didn’t blow me away, I love all the make-up treats they’ve featured as it’s something that’s really lacked recently plus I think the balance of beauty was so spot on this month in comparison to last month’s skincare heavy line up. There’s quite a few highlights that I’m really excited to try out and as always they’ve featured a generous amount of samples but it’s a real shame that they didn’t include a full-sized product or the Elle Magazine but having said that I don’t think there was anything I didn’t like and I’ll definitely make use out of every single item so that’s definitely a plus in my book!
