Autumn is finally here and with a new month comes a brand new So Susan Lip Love Bag to play with! While I was expecting something very seasonal from So Susan in terms of the bag design it’s really refreshing that they they stuck to something fun and vibrant in accordance with their theme “I love my inner child”. For their October edition they’ve featured apt pops of colour to kick start the new season in addition to a Blush Brush too, all of which are contained within a limited edition designed canvas pouch.
The So Susan collection ranges from make-up to nail varnish combining their lovely portfolio of colours with science. Their philosophy is to create colours which last, are cruelty free and also much kinder to your skin. As well as the philosophy behind the brand, I love the feminine and pretty designed packaging which always stands out for me. I’ve tried quite a few products from their collection and already have quite a few firm favourites.
Each month, the Lip Love bag will include 3 full sized items and one bonus product from either Jelly Pong Pong or So Susan.
1. Liptensity by Jelly Pong Pong – Full Size RRP £16.95
This highly hydrating gloss is described as a thick formula that enables you to have a intense lip colour that shines and lasts at the same time. It’s infused with Sweet Almond Oil to help reduce chapped skin and keeps lips succulently soft.
True to it’s name this gloss really packs a punch and surprisingly the pigmentation is pretty impressive too. Texture wise it feels super comfy on the lips and benefits from not being overly sticky so it’s a great choice if you’re looking for intense colour and a glossy finish.
2. Cheek Jelly by So Susan – Full Size RRP £14.95
The So Susan Cheek Jelly is a gel stain that tints lips and cheeks in a luminous, natural wash of colour. The sheer, lightweight texture enables you to blend and build the shade up for a perfectly personalised hue. Unfortunately if you’ve been a loyal subscriber you’ll recognise this from last year.
The gel-type formula is lightweight but still manages to provide a lovely pop of colour on the lips which is easily buildable to achieve the desired result. This also doubles up as a cheek stain and while it looks extremely bright you only need a tiny amount for a rosy flush of colour. The longevity is pretty amazing too and doesn’t seem to fade during the day.
3. Creamsicle by Trifle Cosmetics – Full Size RRP £14.95
Creamsicle by Trifle Cosmetics has already been featured a couple of times this year in different shades and this one has got to be my favourite so far. This creamy tinted balm in the shade Ganache is a lovely brown autumnal shade that contains the goodness of pure Shea Butter and promises to melt onto your lips and cheeks for rich hydration and for that pop of dewy, smooth colour.
4. Angled Blush Brush by So Susan – Full Size RRP £21.95
I love that So Susan have started to add make up tools inside their bags now as it mixes things up a little plus you can never have enough brushes! This versatile brush is made from best quality synthetic nylon & taklon hairs only and being angled it’s great for precision.
My Verdict
If you favour make up over skin care then the So Susan Lip Love Bag offers a great way to get acquainted with a cruelty-free collection from brands such as So Susan, Jelly Pong Pong and Trifle Cosmetics plus it’s a guilt-free way to build up your make up stash without breaking the bank. I love their picks this month, there’s a few multi taskers, the shades selected are wearable plus the blush brush is of good quality too. If you’ve been a loyal subscriber from the beginning then you’ll recognise the Cheeky Jelly so it was disappointing to see it again but nonetheless I’m happy with the remainder of the new finds this month. As always the bag features all full sized products so it’s incredible value for money and great for those who want to discover more skin friendly and cruelty-free alternatives.
