My last review of the month features the *Cohorted Beauty Box and for their November edition they’ve put together a collective of seasonal essentials from skin care boosters in addition to a neutral eye shadow palette that’s ideal for creating simple day time looks. With only four products on board this month I can’t help but feel it’s a little lacking on the line up front plus it didn’t excite me as much in comparison to previous editions but having said that the contents do total up to a generous £98.95 and it does contain seasonally appropriate products covering both skin care and make up.
The November edition showcases the brands Laura Mercier, Cargo, Dr Paw Paw and Evolve, all of which are beautifully presented inside their signature black box secured with a ribbon giving it a very luxurious look and feel.
Here’s a quick overview of what was featured inside their November edition:
Up first and a brand I’m always delighted to try more from is Evolve Organic Beauty and amongst this month’s line up you can expect to see a full sized bottle of their Hyaluronic Serum 200 (Full Size RRP £28.00). Containing the powerful moisture-binding ingredient Hyaluronic Acid (200mg to be precise!) the serum creates an effective water reservoir within the skin cells and plumps the skin for a rejuvenating and youthful effect and offers multiple skin benefits. The ingredient list also features organic pomegranate extract to soften and protect and it’s delicately fragranced with organic rosewater.
If you’re a regular reader then you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of this particular Dr Paw Paw balm (Full size RRP £6.95) but it’s not something that sits within a premium beauty box! This multitasker will solve all those skin and hair winter woes and is made from a variety of natural ingredients including Pawpaw (Papaya), Olive Oil and Aloe Vera Oil this versatile balm can be used on dry areas, as a lip balm, moisturiser, cuticle cream, smoothing the hair or to treat skin conditions such as dermatitis and eczema. It’s even gentle enough to use on a baby’s bottom as a nappy cream which really gives you an idea of how natural and gentle the formula is.
Up next is the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Protect SPF 30 (Full size RRP £29.00) and although I’ve received several of these via other beauty boxes I don’t think I actually own this one so that’s a bonus! Described as the ideal blend of priming and protection of SPF 30, this oil-free primer promises to create a smooth, even surface for flawless makeup application while helping to minimize the look of pores, fine lines, and imperfections.
It was only in September where Cohorted included a palette from Cargo and although it’s a different one I’m disappointed that they decided to feature another one again so soon! The Around the World Eye Shadow (RRP £35.00) contains 12 shades that are mainly cool toned and also includes a dual-ended eye shadow brush as well as a handy mirror inside. I think this is a good choice for everyday as it contains wearable neutral shades with a variation of shades and finishes.
My Verdict
Okay, so this month’s edition wasn’t my favourite and I’ve certainly seen them do hell of a lot better plus it was disappointing to see Cargo again amongst the line up (I’ve lost count how many times they’ve popped up inside the Cohorted box). While the line up didn’t particularly excite me, it does appear to be useful one with skin care must-haves for the winter months in addition to a couple of make up treats too. Value-wise this box was definitely solid at a total of £98.95 with everything being full sized so this kind of made up for the shortfall but here’s to hoping they pull out all the stops for their December edition!
