Look Fantastic don’t release many Limited Edition beauty boxes but when they do they’re pretty amazing and this one is no exception! While this was released for Christmas I think it’s the perfect guilt-free treat to beat those January blues and features some great winter staples to revive and restore our skin and hair especially if you’re still feeling a little partied out from Christmas and New Year! Containing a wealth of quality brands, there’s a collective of new discoveries and some old favourites too from brands I already love and know in addition to a couple of brands that are completely new on my radar. With over £160.00 of amazing goodies tucked inside, it’s a pretty good all-rounder that covers all areas of beauty and makes one incredible gift to yourself or a special someone. One of the first things I noticed when this box arrived on my doorstep is that it was heavy! It’s quite literally jam packed with so many full sized treats that it feels like you got your money’s worth even before you take off the lid!
Without further ado here’s a quick overview of what’s inside the box:
Up first and quite possibly one of the prettiest highlighters I’ve ever across is the Illamasqua Beyond Powder in OMG (Full size RRP £32.00), it’s so stunning and comes in the sleek and sturdy signature Illamasqua packaging. Designed to add a warm hue to the complexion and rekindle the skin’s natural glow, OMG is a universal flattering champagne hue that I can see suiting almost everyone. The powder formula has a lovely buttery feel and it’s incredibly blendable too. For those of you who are looking for a more subtle highlight then this is a great option as it’s a relatively sheer powder meaning you can easily control how much glow you’re getting (because not every day is a disco ball day!)
The High Definition Eye and Brow Palette in Vamp (RRP £25.00) is something I already own and although I don’t use it as much now I do turn to this palette when I want more definition and a bolder look. This smart multi-purpose palette not only fills in, shapes, and tames your brows but the powders can also be used as eyeshadow and range from cool-to-warm colours to give you an array of looks. In addition to this there’s also a smooth setting wax, a brow highlighting powder and a double ended application brush, all of which are contained within a sturdy travel friendly palette making it ideal for both beginners and those who are pro’s.
Lastly on the make up front is a cute lip and cheek sampler set from lilah b, a US brand I’ve not come across before but they embody the philosophy of ‘With less, you are more’ with a minimalistic collection of colour to allow women to achieve a finished look with fewer products… encouraging a movement to declutter, minimize and simplify. Their unique formulas promise to combine nourishing and moisturising ingredients from earth and sea to deliver a healthy glowing finish. The sample shades are b.real, b.fearless and b.sassy.
Moving onto the hair department we have the Kérastase Elixir Ultime (deluxe sample 50ml worth £12.50), a versatile hair oil that works to treat, protect and strengthen your hair. Enriched with a rich blend of precious oils, including argan and maize, the oil is suitable for all hair types and deeply nourishes, controlling the look of frizz whilst boosting shine and reducing the appearance of split ends.
Sticking to hair and another new discovery for me is from Grow Gorgeous in the form of their End Split Ends potion (Full Size 120ml £18.99). Made with an expert blend of Amazonian oils, including acai, palm and inca inchi, this repairing treatment will help to nurse your hair back to health and protects against heat styling or harsh environmental conditions without making your hair feel greasy or sticky.
Rich in moisturising and softening active ingredients, the Decléor Aroma Confort Gradual Glow Hydrating Body Milk (Full Size 250ml RRP £32.00) brings together the Extract of Vanilla from Tahiti with Magnolia Essential Oil, in a light and melting texture to impart a gorgeous top-to-toe sun-kissed glow that looks natural and hydrates the skin too.
Although I try to get the recommended dose of beauty sleep there’s no harm in powering it up a little and this is where the Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial by REN comes to the rescue (Full Size 40ml RRP £32.00). This skin saver which works while you sleep promises to leave skin visibly brighter, more luminous, refined and even toned in the morning. Containing a unique complex of actives, this delivers a 3-phase treatment while you sleep that gently renews the skin, boosts skin cell vitality and infuses skin with plumping moisture.
Starskin is a brand I’ve been introduced to quite a few times thanks to beauty boxes – mainly their face masks so I’m excited to try something new from their collection. The Dreamkiss Coconut Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Lip Mask (RRP £8.50) is a nourishing bio-cellulose lip mask that adheres to your lips like a second skin and delivers instant plumping and intense hydration for soft, smooth, kissable lips.
My Verdict
Look Fantastic definitely knocked it out of the park and partnered up with some fabulous brands for this limited edition box! There are so many wonderful products and interesting new finds to play with not forgetting all of the generous sized products majority of which are all full sized. Line up wise, they covered a good balance of beauty and I love that everything is geared towards the season, there’s some great revivers and restorers to perk up dull winter skin and hair especially if you’re still feeling the wrath of Christmas past! While the £40.00 price tag may seem a little hefty, when you consider that you’re getting £160.00 worth of products, it’s really quite a steal!
