Wow, I love the refreshing look and design of the January Look Fantastic Beauty Box it’s definitely one of their prettiest yet and is much more of a sleeker and slimmed down version in comparison to their old box. In terms of the line up there’s a few products I’ve already sampled via other beauty boxes however I’m really liking the brands and the variety they’ve got on board this month, it’s a huge improvement as they are known for being quite repetitive sometimes however having said that there is a repeat from last year! Showcasing four full size products in addition to a couple of samples you can expect to see make up, skin and hair care, rose gold tweezers, the latest edition of Elle Magazine and tips and tricks to get the most out of your products – they’ve certainly made a good first impression to kick start 2017 and it’s worth an incredible £60.00 this month!
The Look Fantastic box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skin care, hair care, cosmetics and body products, catering for every beauty lover.
This month’s box is filled with a generous mix of treats and showcases Vintage Cosmetics, Jelly Pong Pong, Trifle Cosmetics, Nuxe, PIXI and Briogeo.
1. Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Curl Mascara – Full Size RRP £17.95
Fairy Lashes Curl by Jelly Pong Pong is a sculpting, curling mascara that promises to continually curl lashes throughout the day with a unique synthesis of Moringa Seed resin that dries down and holds the curl of lashes for long-lasting results whilst adding volume.
The mascara definitely has fairies in mind with its weightless formula and soft finish and steers away from any crazy volume or length giving a very natural look. I’ve tried this before and whilst it’s ideal as an everyday mascara which keeps the lashes defined it’s not the best mascara I’ve tried.
2. Vintage Cosmetic Company Slanted Rose Gold Tweezers – RRP £8.00
If you love anything rose gold then you’ll love these oh so pretty Rose Gold Tweezers by the Vintage Cosmetics! As well as looking the part they are fantastic quality, sharp and being slanted they do a wonderful job of gripping even the tiniest hairs. I already own these tweezers but I’m delighted to have a back up as I’m forever misplacing mine!
3. Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask – Sample size
Remember that repeat product I mentioned earlier? If you’re a subscriber you would have spotted this inside April’s edition last year! Fortified with ultra-hydrating avocado, sweet almond & argan oils, strengthening keratin protein, power-conditioning rosehip oil, soothing aloe, and super hair-essential vitamins B5, D, A, E and biotin. This unique complex of targeted ingredients helps increase hair elasticity and moisture to prevent breakage, promotes healthy shine and luster, and replenishes strength.
4. PIXI Brow Tamer – Full Size RRP £12.00
Something I’ve really been loving and using since I received my box is the Pixi Brow Tamer, a light weight, translucent gel that performs really well to hold your brows in place and doesn’t leave them feeling dry or crispy unlike other gels I’ve tried! While the tube looks really teeny this is actually the full size version so it’s another generous addition amongst the line up.
5. Nuxe Gentle Toning Lotion – Travel Size 35ml
The Nuxe Gentle Toning Lotion is formulated with rose petals and is designed to remove make up whilst also promoting smooth and perfectly clear skin. It’s enriched with Hyaluronic Acid and Witch Hazel Water, to soothe and hydrate the skin whilst Damascena Rose Petal Water softens the skin and also boasts being alcohol and paraben free.
6. Trifle Cosmetics Liquid Glow – Full Size RRP £15.96
Described to give your complexion a boom of rosy brilliance, this is such a gorgeous pink highlighter and is another firm favourite of mine! It has a soft finish but its true beauty really comes to life when it catches the light. As well as being vegan and cruelty-free, it’s also formulated with Cocoa Extract to hydrate the skin.
My Verdict
Look Fantastic gets full marks for their new box design this month and I can’t wait to see what they come up with for their February edition. Line up wise, I’ve got to admit I wasn’t overly excited with my contents mainly because I was slightly sad to see things I already own and sampled which of course isn’t Look Fantastic’s fault, I guess it’s one of the downsides when you review so many boxes! Having said that though the new discoveries in the form of the highlighter and the brow tamer are definitely things that I love and will use so I’m delighted to welcome them to my beauty stash not forgetting the latest edition of Elle Magazine which is such a lovely little bonus! Nonetheless, I think you’ll agree they’ve covered a good ground this month with a mixture of travel sized samples in addition to few full sized products too and totals up to a very generous £60.00 which is pretty amazing when you take into account the monthly subscription cost.
The Look Fantastic Beauty Box is the perfect destination to try a range of beauty brands without the hefty price tag and for with subscriptions starting from £13.00 it’s a great way to trial beauty products from brands we all love and know alongside some new discoveries too.
