First things first, a huge congratulations to Love Me Beauty who featured on Dragons Den last month and secured a chunk of funding to progress their subscription service to the next level. The February Love Me edit excitingly features the likes of Charlotte Tilbury (which is the first time the brand has ever featured inside a beauty box), make up from Kat Von D in addition to skin and body care from Nuxe and is one of my favourite offerings from them in terms of the brands they’ve partnered up with plus you can also expect to see your chosen picks inside an ever so cute make up bag to match the theme. Here’s a round up of just some of the new additions which you can expect to see inside the February boutique. New subscribers can get 20% off their first box for using my exclusive reader code at the end of the post.
Each month the Love Me Beauty membership is worth 60 credits and you simply chose the items you want inside your box from a selection of products ranging from hair, body, nails, skincare and make-up with majority of the items being full sized or travel sized. You can now add on extra credit packages as well as the opportunity to treat yourself all month long!
February see’s new arrivals from Charlotte Tilbury, Kat Von D and Nuxe as well as some products from previous months so whether you love make-up, skin and body products or a bit of everything there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
1. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Kiss Pockets – (x6 10 credits each)
While it’s absolutely amazing to see Charlotte Tilbury on board this month’s boutique I was hoping to see some deluxe samples as opposed to these Kiss Pockets but there’s no arguing that 6 of these for only 10 credits is the perfect way to try out the formula and the shades without having to pop to your nearest counter or splash out on full sizes first. I love and already own quite a few lipsticks from her Matte Revolution collection and it really is hard not to fall in love with them as they boast a creamy, hydrating and long lasting formula with a great colour pay off. In addition to the Matte Revolution you can also expect to see samples from her K.I.S.S.I.N.G and Hot lips collection, all of which are still available within the boutique.
2. Kat Von D (Deluxe Size. 15 -20 Credits each)
I’ve not tried much from Kat Von D and my first introduction was all thanks to Love Me Beauty last year so I’m delighted they featured some more make-up but I’m a little sad none of the concealers made their way inside my bag which was probably due to the fact that they sold out so quickly – think there’s just the one shade available now!
Up first we have the Tattoo Liner which boasts highly-pigmented colour and a precision brush tip for easy application and rich payoff. Formula wise you get a deep, black line that dries down to be totally smudge proof, is water resistant, and holds up well all day long without any flaking or fading. Unlike a lot of pen style eyeliners with felt nibs, this one strikes the perfect balance of flexibility and precision.
Lastly inside my bag is the Studded Kiss Lipstick in the shade Underaged Red, a long-wear, pigment-rich lipstick formulated with Colour Cushion Technology to keep your pout feeling comfy and velvety soft. The shade is described as a matte fire engine red.
3. Nuxe – (5-10 credits)
I think the only dud among my contents was the Nuxe Prodigieuse OR multi-usage dry oil (sample size 10ml) not because I don’t like it in fact it’s great for the winter months to cheat that glow but it’s been featured countless times inside a number of boxes so I really didn’t need to another one to join the other five samples I already own! Described to be used on the face, body and hair, this give a beautiful veil of luminosity, it’s like liquid gold in a bottle!
Luckily the Nuxellence Detox (sample size 15ml) isn’t something I’ve sampled before or come across so that’s a relief! This anti-ageing night care formula recharges the skin overnight, it repairs youth by repairing mitochondrial DNA and detoxifies cells so you wake up with skin that’s refreshed and rejuvenated!
My Verdict
This month saw another solid line up from Love Me Beauty especially when you take into the account the big name brands they partnered up with but having said that I’m a little bored of seeing Nuxe as they’ve been featured quite a few times already! Initially I was most exited about the Charlotte Tilbury products and was hoping to see some deluxe sized sample as opposed to the Kiss Pockets but nonetheless if you’ve been curious or wanting to try any of the three collections it’s a great way to sample the formula and the shades to see which ones suit you best. As expected, the Kat Von D make up didn’t disappoint and I so need to get myself to Debenhams to try out the concealer. So now Love Me Beauty are backed by a dragon I can only imagine better things are coming and I cant ‘t see what they have in store for us in March.
If you’re not a fan of surprises when it comes to beauty boxes then Love Me Beauty is the perfect choice and destination for those who want more of a personalised subscription service that offer flexibility all month long meaning there’s an opportunity to extend your credits with their value add-on packages and the best bit is they’re always refreshing their boutique with lots of new and exciting products so they’ll always be something to tempt you with an extensive range on offer.
