It’s a new month which means it’s time for Look Incredible to wow us again with one of their curations! For May we’re in for another treat and it excitingly features the likes of Dior and Too Faced however I don’t think it tops last month’s box but nonetheless it’s still loveable and contains a collective of products that I’ve not tried before so that’s promising. Focusing on mainly make-up in addition to a body lotion, the box showcases a wealth of quality brands and it totals up to an incredible £102.47 with every single item being full sized.
Here’s a quick overview of what was inside their Deluxe Edition:
Up first and the main showstopper among the line-up is the Too Faced Totally Cute Palette (RRP £32.00) and it’s ridiculously adorable! Featuring some bright, fun, matte and shimmer colours with two sheets of fun stickers, it’s housed within a plain pink metal tin that can be decorated in any way you choose – how cool is that! Now I’ve got to admit some of the colours are way outside of my comfort zone but the lighter ones are definitely shades I can get use out of although having said that I do love the look of Storm Cloud! I think this is such a fun palette and the shades are nicely pigmented too.
When it comes to make up products I use on a daily basis, eyeliner is always at the top of the list so the Dior Diorshow Kohl (RRP £19.50) is a welcome addition. I don’t know why but I was expecting this to be super pigmented just like my beloved Charlotte Tilbury eyeliner but as it’s also been marketed as an eyeshadow or base, I guess it makes sense that it’s not as dark! The smooth texture works great as a liner and also blends out well along the upper and lower lash line but I wish it was more long wearing and waterproof.
I’m obsessed with matte lip products and I can’t even remember the last time I applied a glossy formula so I was delighted to see the Laura Geller Love Me Matte Lip Crayon (RRP £17.99) in a wearable shade Coffee Craving, a chocolate nude. Described as a smooth, nourishing lip formula, it provides a high level of pigmentation with a modern, matte finish and is infused with good-for-the-lip ingredients, such as mango butter and coconut oil for hydration and nourishment.
Up next and the only dud for me inside the box is the Lancome La Sourcil Pro Eye Pencil (RRP £19.99), a double ended brow pencil that fills the sparse areas and defines the eyebrows and on the other end is a highlighter to enhance the eyes by brightening the arch of the brows. I’m not sure if the shades will vary but I received 030 Brun, which is a medium brown and doesn’t even come close to being a near match for me but on the plus side I’ll be able to get use out of the highlighter.
Lastly and on the body care front we have the No7 Completely Quenched Body Lotion (200ml RRP £12.99), a velvety soft lotion that’s light, airy and quickly absorbed. The body lotion promises to soften, smoothe and even out texture to leave skin looking healthy and radiant and is also hypo- allergenic.
My Verdict
I thought this was another great edition from Look Incredible and apart from the Lancome brow pencil which just wasn’t the perfect near match shade for my brows the remainder are all things that I like and will use. Once again the line-up focused on mainly make-up and is just one of the reasons why this box shines month on month and they’ve selected some great brands again for their May edition – you can’t go wrong with Too Faced and Dior! In terms of favourites so far, I’m loving the Laura Geller Matte Lip crayon and the Dior eyeliner and I’m particularly looking forward to experimenting with the Too Faced Palette and decorating it with all those adorable stickers! With five full sized items, the May line-up is a true treat and as for the value it’s worth a very respectable £102.47.
