Today’s post features an unboxing and review of the August Pip Box and what a fabulous month it is as cruelty-free beauty is definitely having a well-deserved moment all thanks to this month’s line up which by the way is AH-mazing and their best edit yet in my opinion. Touching on a good area of beauty, they’ve put a host of new brands in the spotlight plus I love Sofi’s attention to detail such as the little note and the fact that one of items is always wrapped – yes the little things go a very long way with me but I think you’ll agree it’s such a lovely touch.
If you’re new to Pip Box then they are a strictly cruelty-free beauty subscription and their boxes contain 5 beauty treats, which will be a mix of full sized products and travel sized treats ranging from make-up, skincare, body and hair care products from organic and natural to multi-award winning brands. Their subscriptions start from £13.50 depending on the plan you opt for but you’ll also be pleased to know that 50p from each box sold goes to an animal friendly charity.
So without further ado here are all the goodies that featured inside this month’s box:
Up first and something I can’t wait to try is the Kitenest Organic Dry Shampoo (Full size 150g RRP £10.00), an all-natural formula that promises to absorb excess oils from the scalp and leave your hair looking and feeling revived and refreshed between washes. The dry shampoo which is in a powder form as opposed to an aerosol can is made from a combination of plant powders, clays and a unique blend of Grapefruit and Lime organic essential oils, which promise to leave your hair smelling fresh and revitalise your senses. This is a 100% natural and organic product, cruelty free, Talc-free, suitable for vegans, and free from any nasties (no toxic chemicals or GMO’s).
If you’ve not heard of Spacemasks (x1 RRP £3.00) where have you been, they are everywhere right now on social media! I absolutely love these masks so I’m delighted to have another one as they boast great benefits. This genius invention warms and alleviates strain on your eyes which in turn aids in calming you down and relaxing your mind from long days of work, excessive screen staring, stress and headaches. The mask gently heats up and lasts around 15 minutes and definitely helped me to relax and drift off into sleep!
Up next and another favourite is the Green Frog Botanic Body Wash (Travel size 100ml RRP £3.95), a formula that’s suitable for all skin types with an infusion of moisturising aloe vera, calming geranium and cooling peppering oil which acts as a deep conditioner for your skin, leaving it hydrated, nourished and full of antioxidants. In addition to being cruelty-free, this is also organic and vegan. Did I mention, not only does this smell so. so good but it also leaves your skin feeling refreshed and hydrated – it’s the perfect shower companion when you’ve had a long day at work!
On the make-up front is the very pretty Benecos Eyeshadow in Apricot Glow(Full size RRP £4.95) which is a beautiful subtle peachy hue making it ideal for day wear and also contains purely natural ingredients including Macadamia and Sunflower oils.
Last but not least is the Weleda Mini Body Oil (Sample size worth £3.99) and although we already received the Evening Primose Oil only in May, this time round it’s their Citrus Oil. Described as the fresh scent of sunshine and summer, the Citrus Refreshing Body Oil takes a base of delicate almond oil to maintain skin’s moisture, and infuses it with a squeeze of pure lemon oil to invigorate, lift your spirits and clear your head. I need all the help I can get to wake up in the mornings so I’ll definitely be making use out of this!
My Verdict
I think there’s so much to love about this month’s Pip Box and their August edit was another amazing, well rounded box full of cruelty-free goodness. I loved that so many of the products not only were all new finds for me but some also benefited from being natural and organic. It’s hard to pick favorites with this one as I’m yet to try everything, but in terms of what I’ll be likely repurchasing, the Green Frog Botanic Body Wash is a sure bet! I can really see myself getting a lot of use out of all the products from this box and I’m particularly looking forward to trying out the dry shampoo. Once again and just one of the reasons why this particular subscription really shines is they do an excellent job sourcing beautiful and interesting brands/products and it’s an edition I’ve thoroughly enjoyed unboxing. If you want to explore more cruelty-free options or thinking of making the switch then I highly recommend checking out Pip Box.
