This month, the Pip Box celebrates their 1st Birthday and to mark the occasion they’ve treated us to a host of cruelty-free goodies and it even includes an edible treat too which always goes down well when you’ve got a sweet tooth! Covering a good area of beauty from skin care, hair care and make-up their February edition has so many newbies on board and is just one of the reasons why this month’s box really shines and ranks high in terms of my favourite curations from them.

If you’re new to Pip Box then they are a strictly cruelty-free beauty subscription and their boxes contain 5 beauty treats, which will be a mix of full sized products and travel sized treats ranging from make-up, skincare, body and hair care products from organic and natural to multi-award winning brands. Their subscriptions start from £13.50 depending on the plan you opt for but you’ll also be pleased to know that 50p from each box sold goes to an animal friendly charity.

So without further ado here are all the goodies that featured inside this month’s box:

Up first and just one of the make-up treats inside their February edition is the Medusa Makeup Matte Lip Paint in the shade Cowboy (Full Size RRP £9.99) and although we received something from this same brand last month I actually don’t mind as it’s such a great way to get to know the brand that little more better. Liquid lipsticks are my favourite kind of lip products but unfortunately this nude hue just looks awful on me which is a shame as the formula is so spot on and does not budge! Think I’ll definitely check out some of their other shade options.

Sticking to make-up we have not one but two products from Johnny Concert, a natural, cruelty-free and vegan brand from the US I’m not familiar so it was exciting to see an eyeshadow and an eyeshadow brush amongst the line-up. Thankfully, the Glamour Amplified Eyeshadow (Full size RRP £11.99) is so me and is perfect for evenings out. I love that Pip Box didn’t just send the eyeshadow alone but also included a eyeshadow brush (RRP £6.50) to go along with it from the very same brand – it’s a very good quality brush too!

Up next and on the skin care front is the Akamuti Chocolate Marshmallow Face Mask, a chocolate face mask that combines the antioxidant powers of fairtrade organic cacao with crushed rose petals, nourishing pink clay and softening marshmallow (known for promoting a healthy complexion – who knew!). There’s also the addition of exotic cupuacu and crushed vanilla beans for extra luxury! I don’t usually get drawn into these types of foodie scents especially when it comes to skin care however I think I’ll make an exception as this one is targeted for normal, oily and problematic skin plus it’s 100% natural and organic so I’m rest assured this will be kind to my skin!

To seal in all that goodness from the mask we have the Dr Botanticals Kale Superfood Nourishing Day Moisturiser (Travel size) that aims to smooth and improve the appearance of your skin whilst proving nourishment and hydration. The Vegan certified Dr. Botanicals products are made only of natural ingredients and potent power of botanicals.

I love multi-tasking products and Naissance Argan Virgin Certified Organic Hair Oil (sample size 10ml) is a cold-pressed and refined argan oil, rich in Vitamin E and Fatty Acids, which may help you bring your dull and dry hair back to life, tone and exfoliate the skin, and improve weak and brittle nails.

Last out of the box and something I wasn’t expecting to like at all was the JOM Organic Candy Fizzy Caramel – what an odd flavour combination! Surprisingly the initial sourness is eventually overcome by the sweetness of the caramel and weirdly it works and are rather addictive too – you’ll never be satisfied with just the one!

My Verdict

Celebrating their 1st Birthday, I’m super impressed with all the picks inside my Pip Box this month! I’m already enjoying some of the beauty goodies inside some of which were perfectly aligned with my likes from the shade of the eye shadow, the face mask, eyeshadow brush and of course the Jom Candy!  The skin care bits were also really interesting this month and included ingredients such as kale, chocolate and marshmallows – I’m a little sad that the Dr Botanicals is too rich for my oily skin and the liquid lipstick wasn’t my kind of shade but nonetheless this month’s not only included a host of new things try but there was lots to delve into too (7 products to be exact!) Thank you Pip Box for celebrating your birthday with us!

If you want to explore more cruelty-free options or thinking of making the switch then I highly recommend checking out the Pip Box plus they also include some discount codes which you can redeem via the brands featured.
