My last couple of With Love Beauty boxes have been so on point when it comes to what I enjoy receiving inside my beauty boxes so I couldn’t wait to see what they handpicked for me for this month however a big part of me was also routing for that same quality I’ve been getting so use to! With this in mind, it’s safe to say the quality and everything I love about this box was definitely passed down to their May edition which once again offers a good variety, features all full sizes and even includes something on the lifestyle front in the form of popcorn!
If you’re new to With Love Beauty Box they are a fairly new beauty box concept that allow their customers to choose what they don’t want in their box from a list that they send out 24 hours after the purchase. Also unlike majority of the beauty boxes, there is no monthly subscription meaning you simply buy a box as and when your heart desires putting you more in control and bypassing those cancellation policies. Also for every single box that is purchased they help women and children across the UK by sending 5 beauty, hygiene and food products to women’s and children’s charities every time a box is sold.
Here’s what I received inside my May box (contents will vary depending on what you submitted):
Just one of things I really like about the With Love Beauty Box is occasionally they feature at least one high end item and this month I received the Too Faced Born this Way Concealer (Full size RRP £20.00) in the shade medium which turned out to be a good match for me although I don’t remember submitting any shade options so that was definitely a fluke I’d say! This oil-free concealer benefits from being buildable, hydrating, provides undetectable coverage and helps to hide the appearance of dark circles, lines and wrinkles.
I think I may need to cross of hand creams off my original list that I submitted to With Love Beauty Box as my stash is getting ridiculously out of control but that aside how cute is this Wild Cherry Magic Hand Cream by Treacle Moon (Full size 75ml RRP £1.25). Aside from the fact that this smells absolutely amazing, the formula contains apricot oil & vitamin E to provide intensive conditioning, smooths and rejuvenate and helps to heal chapped skin. It also fits nicely into the handbag too!
Up next we have the Rimmel Brow This Way Gel in the shade Dark Brown (Full size) and it’s another item where the shade is spot on however on first impressions the formula is very wet and did take a while on dry when swatched on my hand! Described as fade and smudge proof, brows stay fixed all day with a precise tapered brush for uniform application.
This time of the year I tend to make more of an effort with my feet as opposed to the winter months when I can get away with just moisturising them so the Sanctuary Spa Exfoliating Foot Wipes (Full size RRP £7.00) will definitely come in handy. These pampering foot wipes gently smooth away dry and rough skin, whilst refreshing and purifying with antibacterial tea tree and calming lavender essential oils leaving your feet feeling smooth, refreshed and stimulated. I’ve never used anything like this before on my feet so it will be interesting to see how they work.
Last but not least we have a pack of Joe & Sephs Salted Caramel Popcorn (RRP £1.99), air-popped popcorn coated by hand in smooth buttery caramel and flakes of Sea Salt, resulting in an intense contrast of sweet and salty.
My Verdict
With this being my third box in, I think the beauty box market has been crying out for a concept like this, I mean from my experience these guys really do mean serious business when it comes to customisation and the best bit is they are pretty good at it too however on the flip side I have seen some May boxes that weren’t so great and moving forward I think they really need to work on this. In terms of what I received, I can’t say there was anything I didn’t like or won’t continue to use from this month’s edition apart from the brow product as the formula is a little too wet but I’m really looking forward to giving everything else a good trial run plus I love that they include a host of brands from high end to those that are more on the affordable scale too. From what I have tried so far the Too Faced concealer is a firm favourite and I’m really chuffed that they managed to send me over a shade that’s the perfect near match. As per their previous curations, this month’s box contains all full sizes so it’s a complete steal as the box itself is only £14.99 plus free postage so it’s definitely worth trying at least once! I can’t wait to see what they pick out for me next month!
