I’ve always loved being surrounded by beautiful fragrances and perfume subscription boxes just like Secret Scent Box not only fuel this obsession even more not to mention they are very bad for my bank account but on the up side it’s a great way to explore new scents and rediscover some old favourites! Their June edition, which I’m really liking by the way apart from one scent, contains a long standing favourite and a couple of new discoveries from Jean Paul Gaultier and Gucci. Just thought I’d throw this in, but I love the palm print insert this month!

If you’re new to Secret Scent Boxit’s a monthly subscription that contains three fragrances with at least 30 days use and with popular perfume houses within their portfolio it’s the perfect destination to trial new launches and classics in the comfort of your own home and also boasts being letter box friendly too so you don’t have to worry about missed deliveries!

Here’s what they featured inside their June edition:

1. Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Eau Fraiche

Top note:  sugarcane juice Heart note: orange blossom Base note: vanilla.

When Jean Paul Gaultier springs to mind, the first thing I think of is that unique sailor bottle and the enticing scent. From the outset, I really had high hopes for this one based on their signature fragrances but unfortunately it didn’t surpass that same quality. Whilst I lean more towards sweet and floral scents, this one was a little too sickly even for me!

2. Vera Wang Princess

Top notes: Apricot, Apple and Water Lily Heart notes: Pink Guava, Wild Tuberose, Dark Chocolate and Tiare Flower Base notes: Chiffon Vanilla, Pink Frosting, Amber and Wood

Princess by Vera Wang is a long standing favourite of mine, it’s a scent I never get bored of and the heart shaped bottle is so cute, eye-catching and very princessy!  The bottle design reflects what you can expect; a fresh, girly fragrance that has a good mix of fruity and floral notes. Really delighted to have a handbag-friendly version of this!

3. Gucci Flora Glorious Mandarin

Top Notes: Mandarin Heart Notes: Pina Colada Accord, Jasmine Base Notes: Creamy Wood, White Musk

Ooh, so according to the description this contains Pina Colada Accord –I’m sold! Surprisingly this light and refreshing scent from Gucci smells nothing like Mandarin or Pina Colada (sad face) but instead is a nice floral that’s perfect for the summer months.

My Verdict

So, I wasn’t smitten with all three fragrances this month but liking 2 out of the 3 is pretty damn good considering that I’m not the easiest to please when it when it comes to scents. Apart from the Jean Paul Gaultier, I think they featured a nice selection this month and not only do they fit in with the summer season but the two I enjoyed the most are also very easy to pull off too!

If you frequently like to mix up your perfume and don’t want to commit to buying full size bottles, or want to experiment a bit then it’s worth checking out this subscription.
