Ending the month on a high is the September Pip Box and I think it’s one of their best edits from this year well it’s one of my favourites for sure because it’s centred around that all important Me Time something I really need to practice more of! Designed to help you pause and unwind, the selection is such a good all-rounder from pampering skin and body treats a self-heating eye mask, make-up and a bonus edible treat!

As of Monday 23rd July 2018, Pip Box have changed their subscription plans and pricing. For more information please click here

If you’re new to Pip Box then they are a strictly cruelty-free beauty subscription and their boxes contain 5 beauty treats, which will be a mix of full sized products and travel sized treats ranging from make-up, skincare, body and hair care products from organic and natural to multi-award winning brands. Their subscriptions start from £20.00 depending on the plan you opt for but you’ll also be pleased to know that 50p from each box sold goes to an animal friendly charity.

So without further ado here are all the goodies that featured inside this month’s box:

Time to start enjoying those long hot soaks in the tub again! Sticking to the theme we have the Natural Beauty Pot Rose Bath Salts (sample size 25g RRP £4.00) which are made using epsom salts and create a high-mineral content that duplicates the benefits of a hot spring. The high magnesium content in Epsom salt helps detox the muscles and alongside the Rose and Jojoba oils it promises to relax the body and mind.

On the skincare front is the Dr Botanicals Charcoal Superfood Mattifying Face mask (Full size 30ml RRP £14.90) and it’s packed with superfoods and activated charcoal, which works to cleanse and exfoliate your complexion leaving a smoother-looking, mattified appearance. I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve tried from this brand in the past so I can’t wait to give this a go although I don’t think this mask actually sets judging from what others have said!

Next out of the box is an Organic Eyelash and Brow Enhancing Oil from Hair Benefits (Full size RRP £8.00), a brand I’ve not come across before but I love their motto which is organic care for problem hair! Described as a premium organic castor oil treatment for eyebrows and eyelashes, it’s made with nearly 100% Castor Oil and is a gentle, effective, enhancing treatment that can nourish, revitalise and revive eyebrows & eyelashes and may help with their growth. I’m usually quite sceptical about these kinds of treatments due to previous experiences but will definitely give this a go – I guess it can’t do any harm!

Another very apt addition for this month’s theme is the Space Mask (X1 RRP £3.50) and I really can’t recommend these enough but it’s a little disappointing that Pip Box decided to include it again as its already been featured inside one of their previous editions. This genius invention warms and alleviates strain on your eyes which in turn aids in calming you down and relaxing your mind from long days of work, excessive screen staring, stress and headaches. The mask gently heats up and lasts around 15 minutes and definitely helps me to relax and drift off into sleep!

Moving onto make up we have the Honeypie Mineral Blusher (Full size £7.99) in the shade Pink Rose and it’s such a pretty and wearable hue. Described as a silky mineral blush, it provide flawless matte coverage with a beautiful natural luminosity and is made from natural ingredients for healthy glowing skin and also absorbs excess oil and minimises the appearance of pores. Perfect for all skin types, including sensitive, acne-prone, mature, rosacea, oily.

Whilst in summer I can pretty much getaway with the absolute minimum, I definitely need to up my game in the winter months so the Cuderm Cream (Travel size 30ml RRP £2.75) is another beneficial addition and it’s a new brand to the market.  This face and body cream and helps to soothe, maintain and protect your skin’s natural barrier and has a non-greasy formula that is easily absorbed. It provides intense moisturising to areas of dry or sensitive skin.

Lastly we have a bonus treat in the form of the Livia’s Kitchen Raw Cookie Dough Nugglets (RRP £1.50), a sweet oaty centre covered in smooth velvety chocolate.

My Verdict

I love a well thought out themed box and this was certainly one of those curations from Pip Box this month. Covering all areas of beauty and boasting good value, I really enjoyed delving into and learning about all the new brands featured inside their September edition as it makes the unboxing so much more exciting when you’re not having to write about the same items you’ve received via other boxes and is one of the reasons why this box really shines. Having said that though it was a little disappointing to see yet again another space mask as it’s already been featured inside one of their previous edits but other than that there’s some really handy additions on board and my favourites so far include the bath salts which smell absolutely incredible and the blusher.

If you’re thinking of making the switch to cruelty-free it’s so easily possible with this subscription, I’ve come across numerous brands that I have truly come to love all thanks to Pip Box plus they also include some discount codes which you can redeem via the brands featured.

In other news Pip Box are introducing their first ever Cruelty-free & Vegan friendly Beauty Advent Calendar – 24 products worth over £220 for £65.00. Keep your eyes peeled for the go-live via their social media!
