Love Me Beauty is a Beauty subscription service like the other boxes however you choose the products you want from a choice of 3 menu’s each month. Each menu has a slightly different set of 4 items to complement the diverse needs of their subscribers. In this month’s valentine’s edition they have thrown in a mystery product within the contents.
This is the first box I have reviewed from Love Me Beauty. Unfortunately the menu which I wanted was no longer available maybe due to the fact that I ordered this in late February and therefore I opted for another menu. I chose Menu 2.
The box included 5 good sized products which consisted of a mixture of hair and Beauty Products.
1. Beautify Me Vitamin Complex Capsules by “Inner Beauty” Full Size 28 Capsules RRP £15.00
This was the one item which I did not want to try as I am not a fan of taking supplements! Unfortunately the only two menu’s which were available included the supplements so didn’t have much of a choice but to opt for these! These supplements are for skin, hair and nails. They include seven “fabulous nutrients” together with a balanced combination of Marine Collagen, MSM, Silica, Vitamin C, Biotin, Zinc, Selenium, Copper and Iodine. The box states that the antioxidants properties within the capsules protect against free radicals which damage collagen causing ageing and wrinkling. This is a full size product which would last two weeks as you are required to take two tablets once a day and the cost of these is more than the Love me Beauty box alone!
If anyone in the UK would like to try these for free please email whichbeautyboxuk@gmail.com and I will choose someone at random to receive these. I would hate for these to get wasted. The closing date to apply is Friday 7th March 2014.
2. Percy & Reef London Dry Conditioner Full Size 150ml RRP £12.00
I am starting to become an acquaintance to this brand. I love the full size of this product and of course the design which is very quirky. I have come across a variety of dry shampoos but I have never heard of a dry conditioner so was very excited and intrigued to try this product. When shaking the can it sounded like a spray paint can! This is probably to ensure that the liquid within is mixed evenly before application. The spray states “give your hair healthy softness and shine without the H2O. Our fab conditioning formula reduces damage caused by brushing as well as adding gorgeous glossy shine to even very dry hair”
I am not a fan of leave in condition especially when applying to dry hair as some can leave your hair feeling greasy so this “dry” concept without wetting the hair is very welcomed by me! My hair is quite thick and curly and I tend to have my hair blow dried straight so this concept is great as applying water based leave in conditioner on my hair soon makes my hair curly again and frizzy.
I absolutely loved this product it smelt lovely and did not make my hair greasy or weigh it down. It was completely dry to my amazement. My hair was smooth and shiny without any effort whatsoever. Will definitely be using this on a daily basis.
3. The Bakewell Soap Company Multi-Purpose Pocket Balm Full Size 25G RRP £4.95
I have never heard of this company before however when researching the brand on their website they are based on a site of an old Victorian mill just outside Bakewell, Derbyshire, in the heart of the Peak National Park. Their website states that their products are made by hand using the finest essential oils, fragrances, botanicals and their ingredient’s are sourced locally and from around the world.
This is a multi purpose balm and can be used on the lips, hands, nails and body. It contains a special blend of hard working essential oils such as Omega 3 and 6 that help soothe and restore dry/damaged skin and is packed with vitamins and anti-inflammatories . Other Ingredients in this balm include sweet almond oil, beeswax, hemp oil, walnut oil, natural Vitamin E, Roman Chamomile Oil along with 100% pure essential oils. This pocket-sized balm is compact enough to store in your handbag, car or when travelling which is great.
This smells divine which is due to the excellent and well thought out ingredients above which definitely complement one another and reminds me of relaxing aromatherapy oils. This was not greasy when applied on the skin, was smooth in texture and easy to apply onto the skin. The scent also lasted and a little does go a long way! A great product and concept and hope “Love Me Beauty” feature this brand in their future boxes as I would love to try out their other products.
4. Headline Colours Quick Sand Nail Varnish Full Size RRP £9.00
Another product which I am a newbie to! However this nail varnish has great views on it’s lasting power and its chipping resistance. It states that “Headline Colors is the brand new, must-have nail color collection following the heartbeat of fashion, offering a capsule collection of only the hottest nail colors based on the very latest fashion trends”
I am happy with the colour I received which is a light mocha colour. I seem to collect a lot of dark colours in my nail varnish collection so am pleased that this is a lighter shade.
5. La Claree Ultra Melting Body Milk 30ml – Full Size 200ml RRP £24.00
My first thoughts when I received this product is wow this sounds very nourishing and definitely something you would use as a pampering treat or pick me up! This brand comes from France.
This again is the first time I have come across this product. Their website states “The Ultra Melting Body Milk moisturizes* and protects the skin, promoting a feeling of wellbeing. Nourishing, restructuring, it strengthens the collagen production of the skin. It also strengthens and protects the hydrolipidic film while bringing softness and suppleness throughout the day. Its non greasy consistency allows you to get dressed after its application”. I was pleased to see that 99% of their total ingredients come from natural origin and organic farming.
This smelt gorgeous and was smooth to apply. The cream is the right consistency which in turn makes this very easy to apply on the body and was not greasy at all.
My Verdict
This was my first box by “Love Me Beauty” and whilst my preferred menu was not available I still was not disappointed by the contents. I loved every item apart from the Vitamins!
This box contained 5 items mostly from brands which I had not discovered before. The products included a range of hair and beauty products.
This is the same price as GlossyBox and BirchBox subscription boxes. The sizes of the products are great also. I only received one item which wasn’t full size!
Overall, this is a good box if you want to discover new brands. This month’s box is very good value for money with the contents worth £40+ not to mention the 4 full sized products! I like the fact that I can choose the items I want from three menus instead of receiving random items that I probably may never use, however I also like the surprise of not knowing what you’re getting like BirchBox and GlossyBox! The excitement is not so intense when you know what you’re getting! I guess you can’t have the best of both worlds!!!!
