The April GlossyBox has arrived. The theme this month is “Sweet Treats”!

“GlossyBox” is a  monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of  4-5 selected hair, make-up and beauty products from well-known brands and new brands.

This month’s box included 2 full sized products and 3  sample  sized products. The box mainly consisted of  Beauty, make up and hair products this month. A good variety however I was very disappointed with this month’s box like many other subscribers.

1.     Tresemme Instant Refresh Dry Shamoo  -Sample Size 100ml. Full Size 200ml RRP £4.99

This is one dry shampoo I haven’t tried mainly because I have already become acquainted with one which is ideal for me and actually works for me after testing out so many!

I did try a little on my hair and as expected this left a white powdery residue on my hair which isn’t great when you have dark coloured hair. It smelled nice and refreshing however I will be sticking to the one I currently use.

The sample itself is a good size and ideal for the handbag and when travelling.

2.     MeMeMe Cosmetics Beat the Blues Highlighter – Full Size 12ml  RRP £5.50

I have never heard of this brand. This highlighter is a multi-use product which is designed to highlight all of your best features.

You can use this on your cheekbones and brow arches to highlight or can apply under your blusher for a natural looking dewy glow. This can also be mixed into foundation for a more subtle shimmer.

I have never come across a multi-purpose highlighter but I am guessing the same uses would apply to any highlighter product.

The colour is pearl pink and upon application this did give a nice subtle shimmer and not too overpowering. A full sized product which is great however this isn’t a make-up product which I would use on daily basis maybe just evenings out.

3.    SunSense UK Daily Face SPF 50+ – Sample Size 10g. Full Size 75g RRP £20.99

Another new brand I am not familiar with however for those of you who know me I have issues with SPF ingredients when applied on my face. My skin just breaks out in spots so I wasn’t overly excited by this product.

The instructions do state that it is oil-free and suitable for combination and oily skin. Well that is a relief! Not too sure whether this would agree with my skin however I will be willing to try this when abroad or even this weekend if the weather warms up!

This SPF  is  lightly tinted for a perfect summer glow for your face and neck – this in theory sounds great. I guess the proof will be in the pudding when I try this out!

4.     Monu Spa Warming Ginger Massage & Body Oil – Sample Size 30ml. For Full Size 100ml RRP £25.00

This is a massage and body oil which smells gorgeous and leaves skin luxuriously smooth and supple.

I did try some on my hands and this wasn’t as oily as I expected it to be. The scent is amazing and quite overpowering and does give you the same aroma’s which you would experience in a spa.

This oil can also be used when having a bath or a shower. When it comes into contact with warm water it magically transforms into a milk.

I quite like this product and no doubt will come in handy after a long day!

5.  Emite Make up Lip Brush – Full Size RRP £17.00

I wasn’t overly excited to see this brush as I thought it was an eye shadow brush! Silly me for not reading my product guide! To my relief it was a lip brush.

I actually did need a lip brush as the one I currently use has seen better days! This brush is worth £17.00 so not bad considering this is worth more than the GlossyBox subscription price. The brush has an angled slant also which is great for application.

My Verdict

This month’s box included 2 full sized products and 3  sample  sized products. The box mainly consisted of  beauty, make up and hair products this month. A good variety however I was very disappointed with this month’s box like many other fellow subscribers.

Unfortunately their are 3 products out of the five which I will never use again or make use out of.  I know some subscribers got a self tanning product which I was hoping to get instead of  the SPF cream!

The contents within this month’s box is around £35.00 which is great value for money.

This is the first time I have been unhappy with GlossyBox this year only because the contents did not meet my expectations or preferences.  Lets hope next month’s box is a better one!

GlossyBox can be hit and miss sometimes and may not cater for everyone’s likes and needs each month however this is the risk when you cannot choose your own products. However I do love coming home to my GlossyBox for the surprise aspect!
