The May GlossyBox has arrived and the anticipated wait is finally over.  GlossyBox released a couple of cheeky spoilers before dispatch day with no clues what so ever as to who they were collaborating with or what their subscribers were going to receive in their surprise collaboration box. I was definitely intrigued and excited and hoping the build up and hype was going to be worth it as I’ve not been overly impressed the last couple of months.

The special collaboration was with Superdrug to celebrate 50 years in the making

So was it worth the wait? Yes  My box contained 5 full sized products which was really impressive so well done GlossyBox. There are a couple of products I probably wont use but that is my only negative.

I used my GlossyDots to purchase this month’s box so was absolutely free so not too upset!

“GlossyBox” is a  monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of  4-5 selected hair, make-up and beauty products from well-known brands and new brands.

This month’s box included 5 full sized products and 2 sample  sized products. The box mainly consisted of  Hair, Beauty and make up products this month. A good variety however I was slightly disappointed  (due to high expectations!) with this month’s box like many other subscribers.  Not all subscribers got the same as me as the products varied significantly this month.

1.     Maybelline New York Crystallize Nail Polish in Nearly Black  – Full Size RRP £3.99

This nail polish has a transparent- gel based formula giving nails a bold crisp colour. I received the colour nearly black which was a dark grey tone with traces of glitter.

Not usually something I would pick up when out shopping and doubt that I will use this but you never know it may come in handy one day and plus a girl can never have enough nail varnish!

2.     Collection Bronze Glow Mosaic Powder- Full Size RRP £2.99

I’m not usually a fan of face bronzer’s as sometimes they either look too shimmery or even worse orange on the skin!

I really liked this bronzer as neither was it shimmery or a horrid orange when applied on my face. The tones were quite subtle and natural. If you wanted more colour you can certainly add more.  Great value for money and definitely an item I will be using.

3.     B. Sheer Conditioning Lipstick in Flamingo – Full Size RRP £6.99

A new brand I am not familiar with however judging by the price I am hoping this is good! This should be a nice conditioning lipstick as it contains shea butter and aloe vera.

This is a sheer lipstick without the full-on coverage and came in a pinkish tone. When applied it did feel quite moisturising and I liked the colour but of no fault of my own I have way too may pink lipsticks!

4.    John Frieda Frizz-Ease 6 Effects Serum – Full Size 25ml RRP £2.99

I’m not really a fan of this brand as I have tried several products in the past.

This is an award winning formula which claims to instantly eliminate frizz and repels humidity. Sounds great and I know my mum wanted to try this so she will be happy for a freebie!

5.  Scholl Velvet Smooth Overnight Mask – Full Size RRP £7.99

I was certainly glad to see this product and my feet have been feeling somewhat neglected and definitely need them looking nice and moisturised for the Summer.

This nightmask hydrates for up to 24 hours and gives you with soft beautiful skin while you sleep. What a great concept requiring no effort at all it does all the work for you while you sleep! Definitely my kind of product!

I will be trying this out this evening.

6.Garnier Oil Beauty Lotion and Ghost Eclipse Fragrance Samples

It was nice to see these little bonuses within the box.

I keep these for traveling or weekend’s away and definitely will come in handy.

My Verdict

So was it worth the wait? Yes  My box contained 5 full sized products and 2 samples which was really impressive so well done GlossyBox. There are a couple of products I probably wont use but that is my only negative.

The box mainly consisted of  Hair, Beauty and make up products this month. A good variety however  I think some like me, we set our expectations too high. Not all subscribers got the same as me,  the products varied significantly this month.

The contents within this month’s box is worth £25.95 which is great value for money.

There are definitely positives and negatives with this month’s box however I am quite pleased to be quite fair it could of been worse! I also got to try products which I usually wouldn’t buy. A lesson to be learned here is never expect too much and you will never be disappointed!

GlossyBox can be hit and miss sometimes and may not cater for everyone’s likes and needs each month however this is the risk when you cannot choose your own products. However I do love coming home to my GlossyBox for the surprise aspect!
