As soon as the Beauty British Beauty Blogger Clinique Edit hit the shelves at Latest in Beauty it was a huge hit across the board and it’s no surprise that these got snapped up on the same day which is always inevitable when both Jane and Latest in Beauty join forces.  This handpicked edition includes Jane’s favourite picks, all of which have been tried and tested giving you a great opportunity to discover some classic and best-selling products from the renowned brand Clinique who’s products are allergy-tested and dermatologist driven. Whether you’re a Clinique buff or a novice like me the box showcases a solid line up which has something for everyone from skincare, fragrance and make-up. Prior to receiving this box,  I’ve never ventured into the world of Clinique (the shame! I think I might be the only one) so this really gave me the perfect platform to get to know them that little better and for those who are already fans there’s some great travel sized products, perfect for those summer holidays coming up.

Clinique has always been one of simple designs and it’s clean and clinical image definitely shines through in terms of the sleek design of the box and the presentation within, and as always I just didn’t want to tear open the wrapping!

The box showcases a good area of beauty from innovative skincare, make-up treats to a classic fragrance and includes a mixture of good sized samples and two full sized products.

1.   Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief – Sample Size 15ml

With spring now in full force I’ve swapped out most of my winter skincare for much lighter alternatives and I welcome the Moisture Surge Extended Relief as my oily skin really enjoys these type of formulas.

With new micro-molecules the Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief allows quicker and more efficient moisturisation giving an immediate moisture boost whilst plumping up the skin’s resistance to fine, dry lines and is suitable for all skin types.

The formula as I had hoped is a very light gel with the bonus of being oil-free too.  It has a slight pink hue and even on the first application it delivered an intense surge of moisture to quench the skin but it sinks in so quickly that you practically forget you applied it. It really gives you perfect base for foundation too and my skin was left feeling silky smooth and hydrated all day. I’m really impressed with this cream it literally acts like a glass of water for your skin which can be applied as and when your skin feels thirsty.

2.  Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ – Sample Size 15ml

Clinique have renewed one of their cult classics and have added some really interesting ingredients, which your skin can really benefit from so it was great to see this inside the box.

The new formula helps to strengthen the skin’s own moisture barrier which in turn ensures more moisture stays in leaving your skin feeling soft, springy with a healthy-looking glow.

The lotion has a pale yellow hue, is very lightweight and immediately sinks into your skin as soon as you inject it without leaving any traces of stickiness or that greasy feeling. It certainly hydrates your skin whilst retaining the moisture however I found this a little heavy for my oily skin but I can see this being perfect for the colder months. I think for those with dry or a combination skin would really benefit from this formula all year round.

3.  Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips – Sample Size 30ml

As someone who wears a lot of eye makeup – eyeliner & layers and layers of mascara, quite often, I find that some makeup removers won’t fully remove all traces and I’ll have to go in a second time to remove it, although even in the morning I still find smudged remnants of mascara!

This dual action makeup remover consists of an oil layer and a liquid layer that needs to be shaken together before use.

The formula isn’t too oily at all, in fact it strikes the perfect balance between the two phases once shaken together and doesn’t leave any residue or greasy feeling behind. I found that it removed all my eye makeup, including the stubborn Benefit They’re Real Mascara so easily! There’s no trace of any makeup left on my eyes after using this, even the morning after which in my eyes is really impressive! As someone who doesn’t usually opt for oil based makeup removers, I really loved this formula, it was so effective at removing every trace of makeup with ease and its definitely one of the best makeup removers that I’ve tried!

4.  Liquid Facial Soap Mild – Sample Size 30ml

I’m really into my cleansers at the moment and welcomed the addition of the Mild Liquid Facial Soap.

Clinique’s Mild Liquid Facial Soap offers you all of the benefits of its famous dermatologist-developed soap in a new liquid formula. It cleanses your skin without stripping away protective lipids, while prepping your skin for exfoliation. The cleanser is the first step in Clinique’s 3-Step Skincare System and has been formulated for three different skin types so you can pick the one that works for you with the mild version suited for dry and combination skin, despite it not being for oily skin I’m still inclined to give this a go.

5.  High Impact Mascara – Full Size RRP £17.50

It’s no secret that I love a good mascara so I of course grabbed this from the box first! With a classic spiral wand, the formula is designed for dramatic lashes and promises both length and thickness.

Upon opening the mascara, I noticed straight away that the formula was very rich and a deep black.  I didn’t see much volume but the real drama definitely stems from it’s very black pigmented formula and it’s lengthening abilities. The most impressive factor is that it’s super buildable and even after three coats there wasn’t a clump in sight. It doesn’t give you a false lashes look but instead delivers a natural-looking finish and works really well to achieve a barely there look or something a little more full on.

6.  Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm – Full Size RRP £17.00

The Chubby Stick certainly needs no introduction and inside the box is a gorgeous, rosy pink shade in the colour Plumped Up Pink and comes in a full size too.
The colour is really beautiful, you can apply it lightly or build it up for more of a punch. It’s so effortless to apply and simply glides on smoothly with a texture that leans more towards a lipstick with satin and natural finish.

I can see why Chubby Sticks have become so popular and this shade in particular is a perfect day to night colour that will suit most skin tones.

7.  Happy Perfume Spray – Sample Size 4ml

This fragrance by Clinique has been around for a quite sometime and I still have a vague memory of the scent as it was a favourite within my mums collection.

Just how I remember it, Happy is a joyous, floral essence of a bright, sunny day with a light, fresh fragrance. It’s literally sunshine in a bottle that’s highly energetic, uplifting and softened by pretty floral notes making it youthful and easy to wear hence why it’s such a classic. It’s the perfect scent for the warmer months ahead which will blend in seamlessly with the sunshine.

8.  Clinique £10 voucher

As well as the beauty treats, inside the box is £10.00 voucher to redeem against a £40.00 spend at Clinique which is great if there’s anything in particular you’ve fallen in love with.

My Verdict

With this being my first formal introduction to the brand Clinique this balanced curation covering a good area of beauty has given me a fantastic opportunity to trial some of their top picks, selected by Jane personally and with this in mind I knew there would be some great highlights that I would simply fall in love with and I wasn’t wrong.

In terms of skincare I find it particularly hard finding effective products that work for me and just when I thought I’d finally mastered my skincare routine this box goes and shakes things up! With lotions and potions aside it was also great to see two full-sized make up items and a fragrance sample, all of which I’m really chuffed with.

Whilst these products aren’t perhaps what I would usually purchase I was exceedingly happy to try them and so far I’m really liking the brand who’s products seem do all the talking with the added benefit of being allergy-tested and dermatologist driven too.  I can’t wait to try more and the inclusion of the £10 voucher will certainly come in useful as there’s quite a few highlights within the box that really stood out for me.

I’m really impressed with my first experience with Clinique and the box itself is a very convenient and affordable way to try out products with a mixture of good-sized samples and full sized products making it great value for money.

Another great box by the British Beauty Blogger not that I would expect anything less, thank you so much for the introduction Jane it’s been such a worthwhile discovery.
