With people becoming more picky of what they put on their skin it’s certainly apparent that an increasing number of people are now turning to organic, ethical and natural beauty alternatives. Organic and natural beauty brands are popping up all around the globe touting clean formulas over chemically derived ingredients and with this in mind Naturisimo have successfully established themselves since 2002 as the world’s premier online destination for natural and organic beauty offering over 5,000 product lines across skin care, cosmetics, hair care, fragrance and well-being. For those of you who don’t want to commit to a subscription, Naturisimo have launched their new beauty box concept offering a themed curation each month that you can buy as a one off for only £9.95 and contains a strictly natural and organic beauty line up with the added bonus of being able to see the contents before you purchase. This month saw the release of their exclusive Makeup Discovery Box which is expertly curated and contains a 7 piece collection of top selling natural makeup products in a reusable beauty box. Unfortunately this has now sold out but keep your eyes peeled for next month’s curation.
I’ve mentioned a few times on my blog the fact that there’s always been a lack of organic and natural make up within beauty boxes as a whole so I was pretty chuffed to see a box just dedicated to make up. The box has all areas covered from skin coverage, lipstick, mascara to a kabuki brush, the perfect collection to really shake up your make up bag.
The May edition features the brands Madara, Inika, Green People, Jane Iredale and Bellapierre.
1. Inika Organic Lip Tint in ‘Candy’ – Full Size 3.2g. RRP £12.00
Inika was one of the first organic make up brands I had tried and was pretty impressed with their eyeliner which is still a firm favourite even today so was really happy to see one of their lipsticks in the shade Candy.
The shade is a soft sheer pink leaning towards that dreaded nude but the colour is really subtle with hints of shimmer and is rather pretty so that’s quite novel considering I don’t usually get on with these kinds of shades. The formula is a super-hydrating and contains goodness from coconut oil and Shea butter, to refine, condition and protect the lips alongside the peppermint that gives a little refreshing tingling sensation.
2. Bellapierre Kabuki Brush – Full Size RRP £23.99
A girl can never have too many makeup brushes and I very much welcome this Kabuki Brush by Bellapierre, a well-known and loved brand.
Made with Taklon this Kabuki Brush is perfect for foundation and powder application or it can also be used with to blend face makeup for a more natural look. This cruelty-free brush is made of 100% synthetic fibers and will not shed during makeup application.
The brush is super soft that gives a really nice plush feeling upon contact, just running my finger through the bristles feels so nice!
I love this brush! It’s compact, easy for packing and actually works well. It’s a must have in your makeup collection.
3. Green People Age Defy SPF15 DD Tinted Moisturiser – Sample Sachet 2ml
I’ve not used a tinted moisturiser for years so was happy to reacquainted again.
Green People Age Defy SPF15 DD Tinted Moisturiser is the UK’s first certified organic DD cream, a Daily Defence SPF15. This anti-ageing solution with Sea Fennel stem cells gives blendable coverage for a smooth and even skin tone. I’m looking forward to trying this and fingers crossed it might relight my love for tinted moisturisers.
4. Madara Tinted Fluids in Sunflower (Golden Beige) and Moonflower (Rose Beige) – 2 x 1.5ml Sample Sachets.
Me and Madara are no strangers and I’ve been really impressed with what I’ve tried so far and it was good to see two different types of shades of their tinting fluid inside the box.
The tinted fluids are a lighter alternative to foundation and promise to illuminate and even out your skin tone. It contains Northern Rose Hip extract and natural pigments to instantly hydrate and perfect the skin’s appearance with the added benefit of masking imperfections and fine lines, leaving skin fresh and radiant with the look of a summer tan. The formula itself sounds ideal for the warmer months and I’m looking forward to trying these out.
5. Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara in ‘Black Ice – Sample Size 3g
Surprisingly this works really well to lengthen and separate the lashes despite not being laden with chemicals. The wand is really thick and it’s black pigmented formula defines the lashes without looking overdone or too obvious.
The only downside of this sample is that the wand is so tightly packaged within the tube it can become quite messy.
6. Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stain – Sample Size 1.4g
I’m a complete sucker for cute beauty items and this sample sized lipstick by Jane Iredale is no exception.
Jane Iredale Forever Pink Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain is a lip and cheek stain that provides long-lasting, custom colour to lips and cheeks.
The most interesting part is the product adjusts to your body’s chemistry and creates a custom shade of pink. On my lips this light peachy-pink stain turned into a sheer berry colour and by adding more layers, the colour deepens gradually, it’s pretty impressive! It feels glossy, but not sticky and has a shiny finish giving a pretty flush of colour to the cheeks and the lips.
If you love organic, natural and cruelty-free products or want to detoxify your beauty regime with a more skin friendly alternative this is definitely a box you don’t want to miss out on and at only £9.95 it’s affordable, great value and gives you the perfect opportunity to try out some both well-known and emerging beauty brands. For those of you who don’t want to commit to a subscription, the Naturisimo beauty box can be purchased as an one off with the added advantage of being able to see the contents too.
I’m looking forward to seeing the next themed curation.
