To celebrate The Beauty Project, Selfridges groundbreaking new campaign, Selfridges created a limited edition beauty box which was available to purchase on the 15th May 2014 and it was no surprise that by the afternoon these had completely sold out.

Priced at £30.00, the box contains 14 beauty must-haves with a combined value of over £120.00, making it the ultimate kit for beauty lovers. I was one of the lucky ones who managed to get this great beauty box and I couldn’t wait to share this post with you all.

1.     EXCLUSIVE Selfridges Limited Edition Make-up Bag RRP £5.00

This cute plastic make-up bag has been exclusively designed just Selfridges. I like the fact that this is transparent. A nice addition to the box.

This is available to purchase on the Selfridges website.

2.     Nars Mini Deep Throat Blusher Full Size RRP £21.50

I am a big fan of Nars and was so pleased  to see this blusher as I have heard great things about this.

This a natural, healthy-looking color  which is a light pink that immediately enlivens the complexion. A light application of even the highest-intensity hues delivers a natural-looking flush.

I love this blush it’s such a pretty colour. A thumbs up from me!

3.     Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant – Travel Size 13g RRP £13.50

This is a very familiar brand for me as I use to use this product religiously.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant is a unique, Rice-based enzyme powder that activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes to smooth the skin and accelerate cell renewal.

It’s nice to be reacquainted with this exfoliator as this is not harsh to use on a daily basis.

4.  Laura Mercier Foundation Primer   – Travel Size 30ml RRP £18.50

I was so pleased to see this primer as this was on my wish list.  This Foundation Primer is oil free  and creates the perfect canvas for makeup application, especially for sensitive and oily skins. This soothing, lightweight, water based gel forms an even, invisible layer that acts as a buffer to outside elements, expertly holding foundation for longer wear and keeping cosmetics from being absorbed into the skin. Visibly skin smoothing and vitamin enriched.

This didn’t feel greasy at all on my skin and was quite light weight. This definitely controlled the oil and created a smooth canvas which kept my foundation looking great. A fab product.

5.  Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser – Travel Size 30ml.  Full Size 75ml RRP £8.50

I have never used any of the Kiehl’s range.

This gentle, pH-balanced liquid cleanser produces a foaming lather that cleanses skin of excess oils, dirt and debris.

This Cleanser is formulated for all skin types, will not over-dry or strip skin of natural moisture and is tested for safety and gentleness.

Not a product I intend on currently using as I am finding that changing my facial products is causing havoc on my skin! I have finally found a range which works for me so will stick to the regime for time being.

6.  Percy and Reed Dry Shampoo – Full Size 150ml RRP £12.00

I am a fan of Percy and Reed having tried their dry conditioner recently which won me over. This is quite expensive compared to your average dry shampoo so looking forward to trying this and comparing how this measures up against my favourite  – VO5 Refresh Me Quick!

7.  Lancaster Silky Milk Tanning Lotion – Travel Size 30ml.  Full Size 75ml RRP £8.50

This silky milk body lotion provides an ideal golden tan while maintaining firmness and elasticity. A great brand so happy to see this.

I would probably use this after a few days in the sun as I normally go for factor 20!

8.  Tangle Teezer in Original Pink – Full Size RRP £10.00

I am a big fan of the Tangle Teezer and am now the owner of 3 of these gems! I keep one at home and this one will be a nice addition to the handbag and the third one belongs to Bella – my cat! She loves the Tangle Teezer almost to a point where she won’t even let me use her pet brush. I really cant recommend them enough to humans and pets!

9.  Eyeko Mini Black Magic Mascara – Full Size 4ml  RRP £7.50

I love Eyeko products as I got there liquid liner pen in my BirchBox this year and it’s been part of my make up routine ever since.

The mascara is loaded with a botanical blend of Keratin and Shea Butter which instantly transforms, nourishes and conditions the lashes whilst the deep colour pigments coat the lashes from root to tip for bold creating a dramatic look.

Looking forward to trying out their mascara over the weekend.

10.  Paul and Joe Blotting Paper – Full Size Refill  RRP £3.00

I’ve never heard of this brand or in fact used blotting paper before!

The pouch is very pretty. These are quite effective and eliminated oil and shine on my face . After using it, your face looks fresh and clean. I would definitely recommend this product and will be keeping this in my make up bag for quick fixes!

11. EXCLUSIVE Carmex Limited Edition Lip Balm – Full Size RRP £3.99

This limited-edition comic-themed packaging is exclusive to Selfridges. This iconic newly-decorated lip balm helps moisturisation, prevents dry lips and treats cold sore symptoms.

I love the fun factor of the packaging and you can never have enough lip balm!

12.  EXCLUSIVE Phyto 7 Limited Edition Hair Cream – Full Size 50ml RRP £10.00

This a Hydrating day cream for dry hair infused with 7 pure and natural plant extracts, this leave-in conditioner quickly absorbs into the hair fiber to help maintain an optimal hydration level, preventing frizz, static and split ends

I’m looking forward to trying this as it ticks all of the boxes for me.

13.  EOS Berry Hand Cream – Full Size 44ml RRP £8.00

I’ve been wanting to try the EOS lip balms for ages however this is a hand cream. The packaging was super cute like a little egg.

This quick-drying hand lotion in a fruity floral fragrance and is rich in skin-protective antioxidants.  I love this as it’s small enough to fit in a make up bag.

14.  Ole Henricksen Truth To Go Wipes  – Travel Size  RRP £6.00

I’m not a fan of face wipes but they are great for the gym or when you’re on the go. I tend to use them when flying.

Gentle, moisturising and age defying, Ole Henriksen Truth To Go Wipes contain naturally based mild surfactants that remove dirt, grime and make-up while essential fatty acids nourish the skin and vitamin C and micro algae help to brighten, firm and smoothen it. It also contains green tea and rose water which inhibit collagen breakdown and calm the skin with its anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing properties.

These smell great and did not irritate my face. Will certainly be using these.

My Verdict

I am very happy and content with this beauty box, its been such a pleasure reviewing all of the amazing products which consisted of great brands  and  good sized products.  A great mixture of all things beauty.

This is definitely what I would expect from Selfridges and they certainly did not disappoint.  I loved their theme which they implemented very well in their choice of products. A few of their products were limited edition and exclusive to Selfridges only which makes this a beauty box like no other.

Priced at £30.00, the box contains 14 beauty must-haves with a combined value of over £120.00 – An absolute bargain!

This  is a very good example of what a beauty box should consist of in every shape and form and I will be making use out of every single item so definitely money well spent . I love that there was high end products in this box and it was great to see items that I really wanted to try without spending a fortune. It really is no surprise why these sold out on the same day they got released.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next box as Selfridges do release a number of themed boxes throughout the year. You just need to be very quick!
