If you’ve got no holiday plans because you’re stuck behind a desk like me this summer you’ll know what I mean when I say that the *July Birchbag is such a tease, it’s got me yearning for sun, sea and sand! Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription service. 1. Balance Me Congested Skin Serum – Sample Size 7ml. Full Size RRP £16.00
Balance Me promise natural but affordable skincare and don’t use any harmful ingredients in their products, and where possible are 100% naturally sourced, it’s one of my favourite brands when it comes to green beauty.
The Balance Me Congested Skin Serum is an ‘on the spot’ calming and balancing non-drying gel containing organic aloe vera and spruise knot, calming lavender and anti-bacterial may chang for those moments when your skin shows signs of an unwelcomed blemish or breakout.
Being prone to breakouts, having a spot treatment is a must in my beauty collection so I can’t wait to see what this does for me.
2. Unani Aloe Vera Gel – Travel Size 30ml. Full Size £15.00
Travel and the summer sun can indeed heat things up when it comes to beauty so it was great to see a generous sized sample of Unani’s Aloe Vera Gel, it’s an absolute must to keep your skin happy.
Known for it’s great super powers and it’s antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties this beauty hero is packed with pure Aloe Vera to soothe and calm the skin, perfect for sunburnt skin as well as treating blemishes, excema and insect bites.
3. POP Beauty Eyeshadow Trio in Peach Parfait – Travel Size. Full Size RRP £15.50
Peach Parfait will take you from day to night effortlessly as the colours really allow you to dress-up a natural look making them a great choice for summer.
4. Benefit Cosmetics Dream Screen – Sample Size 6ml. Full Size RRP £25.00
Perfect for this time of the year is a really cute sample of the Dream screen broad spectrum SPF 45 silky-matte sunscreen which is ultra lightweight and truly invisible on skin. It absorbs instantly to help prevent skin from aging by protecting against sun damage and leaves skin feeling moisturised.
5. Jelly Pong Pong Glow Getter Luminizer Gel – Full Size RRP £8.95
The Jelly Pong Pong Glow Getter is an ‘oil-free lightweight luminizing gel, enriched with micronized pearlescent pigments & orange blossom extract to highlight the face for a fresh, radiant complexion and comes in a cute little bottle.
The luminizer is a warm gold toned highlighter which adds a noticeable hint of fine shimmer. It takes a little extra effort to blend out and a little really does go a long way. Being pale this really warms up my face in a way a bronzer would without imparting as much colour. The golden sheen really gives the effect of being out in the sun without actually going outside but due to the shimmer I think I would use this in the evening as opposed to day time.
If you don’t mind a little glitter the Jelly Pong Pong Glow Getter has great longevity, glow, and pigmentation.
6. Barely Prep, Blot & Blend Sponge – Full Size RRP £5.99
I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who thought this was solely for foundation application! This tiny little sponge which looks very similar to a beauty blender has been designed to prep your skin for make-up application and can be used to apply moisturisers, eye serums and lotions, make-up primers as well as make up removers.
I didn’t even know that applying lotions and potions with a sponge was a thing until now so I’m looking forward to giving this a go.
7. Pink Ibiza Bag
I must say Jessica Diner, Editor of Birchbox has impeccable taste in colour as I was secretly hoping for the neon pink although I think all the colours are equally very pretty.
This stylish bag really good sized and is basically indestructible! My favorite feature apart from the colour is that the bag is water resistant and also has a little compartment inside making it the perfect companion for the beach and the pool.
My Verdict
Birchbox have literally taken their ideas outside of the box this month to bring subscribers for the first time ever a Birchbag which just oozes summer inside and out. With an all-star line-up that’s so spot on it’s perfect for throwing into the hand luggage or accompanying you on a day to day basis, and they’re sufficiently generous to tide your over for a week, at least. I love the vibrant bag it’s so fitting for this time of the year with a great selection of colours on board.
The box boasts seven items all of which are very usable and whilst I’m not usually a fan of too much skincare within a single edition this month’s line up is definitely an exception as it’s all so perfect for me.
Birchbox as always continue to wow me with their beautiful curations and without fail there’s always something inside that I manage to fall in love with so If you like trying out products from well-known, loved and emerging brands Birchbox is definitely great for this.
