It’s officially summer and whilst the weather is some what playing up the July So Susan Lip Love Bag is definitely on point with a line up that not only adds some fun colours to your makeup look but they’ve also put together a great selection of summer must-haves to get your skin glowing. With a punchy coral lipstick, beautiful eyeshadows and a dreamy bronze highlighter, there’s a good mix this month all of which come presented inside a summer-inspired canvas make up bag.
The So Susan collection ranges from make-up to nail varnish combining their lovely portfolio of colours with science. Their philosophy is to create colours which last, are cruelty free and also much kinder to your skin. As well as the philosophy behind the brand, I love the feminine and pretty designed packaging which always stands out for me. I’ve tried quite a few products from their collection and already have a few firm favourites.
Each month, the Lip Love bag will include 3 full sized items and one bonus product from either Jelly Pong Pong or So Susan alongside an treat in the form of jewellery or a hair accessory.
1. So Susan Lip Dome in “Mango – Full Size. RRP £10.00
The So Susan Lip Dome’s are a firm favourite of mine and thanks to this month’s bag I’m now the happy owner of the entire collection.
Mango is a beautiful muted coral which really packs a punch making it the perfect shade for the summer.
This long-wearing lip crayon not only has great pigment but it also nourishes the lips as well giving a plumping effect. It contains Hyaluronic Acid and Tripeptide-1 that help increase lip volume and prevent loss of collagen elasticity and it’s also infused with Goji Berry and Mangosteen extracts, earth-engineered antioxidants to help reduce skin fatigue for a more youthful radiance.
The formula is truly amazing and doesn’t dry out the lips at all thanks to it’s super moisturising infusion of goodness. If you want the best of both worlds in terms of colour pay-off and a lip product that cares for your lips I highly recommend the Lip Dome’s.
2. Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Shadow Liner in “Bronze” – Full Size RRP £14.00
This 2in1 liner also doubles up as an eyeshadow and is uniquely formulated to achieve thick, precise lines as well as a perfectly-blended eye shadow. The exclusive combination of Italian-formulated waxes and pigments allows you to build up the colour, smudge or create bold lines quickly and easily.
It applies smoothly and blends quite easily giving a striking bold line on the waterline and the bronze shade itself is lovely natural colour which you play down or dress up for both day and evening.
3. So Susan Liquid Powder Shadow Palette in “Radiant Glow” – Full Size RRP £11.00
Housed within a compact and travel-friendly plastic palette, this eyeshadow palette is definitely one of the highlights this month, the colours are so beautiful and very me!
This liquid eyeshadow formulation is hot-poured and solidified to form a creamy firm powder with an airy texture that moisturises and melts onto the skin which in turn promises to make your shadows last longer, with no fall-out, enabling your skin to breathe. It’s also infused with radiance-boosting minerals, Vitamin K to alleviate dark circles and Copper Peptide to promote collagen and elastin growth around the delicate eye area.
Inside the palette there’s an applicator and a mirror, perfect for on the go touch ups and with eight stunning shades there’s a good selection from subtle pinks, neutrals to even a sultry purple making the transition from day to night pretty much a doddle.
4. Jelly Pong Pong Glow Getter – Full Size RRP £9.00
The Jelly Pong Pong Glow Getter is an ‘oil-free lightweight luminizing gel, enriched with micronized pearlescent pigments & orange blossom extract to highlight the face for a fresh, radiant complexion and comes in a cute little bottle.
The luminizer is a warm gold toned highlighter which adds a noticeable hint of fine shimmer. It takes a little extra effort to blend out and a little really does go a long way. Being pale this really warms up my face in a way a bronzer would without imparting as much colour. The golden sheen really gives the effect of being out in the sun without actually going outside but due to the shimmer I think I would use this in the evening as opposed to day time.
If you don’t mind a little glitter the Jelly Pong Pong Glow Getter has great longevity, glow, and pigmentation.
5. Stay Connected Ring (Bonus Item) – RRP £8.00
As well as the make-up line up you can also expect to see an additional treat usually in the form of jewellery or hair accessories. This month’s bonus item is the Stay Connected Ring, stackable rings are really in right now so it was great to see this on-trend piece within the bag.
My Verdict
So Susan have curated another great edition with a line up that effortlessly injects a touch of summer to our everyday make up routines. I think this is probably one of my favourite bags so far from So Susan with everything being very usable for me, I’m particularly smitten with the the lip dome and the palette, the colours are perfect for this time of the year.
Month on month I’ve been really impressed with the variety and the products that have been featured inside the Lip Love Bag, there’s literally something for every make-up addict. One of the aspects I really love is that So Susan are always churning out new revolutionary products so you can always expect to discover something new as well as some of their classic products too. I love the design of the canvas make-up bag and the pretty abstract artwork which is designed specifically to match the theme each month which is really impressive but if you’re regular subscriber you’ll find these piling up, I’m certainly running out of uses for them!
Overall it’s really refreshing to see just a make-up based subscription which not only is cruelty-free but kind to the skin too without compromising on the quality. This concept by So Susan really gives you a great opportunity to experiment with make up colours that usually may be out of your comfort zone.
The contents within the bag is worth an incredible £52.00 and beats the actual price of the bag itself making it super affordable and exceptional value.
