After a nearly a month of discovering and trialing some of the triumphant beauty favourites of 2015 I’m almost sad that it’s come to an end but the LIB 2015 Awards have definitely gone out with a bang as the Winners Box is absolutely phenomenal. Voted by you, the line up covers all areas, showcases a wealth of quality brands and there’s even a couple of unexpected surprises. It doesn’t end there either, the box includes 9 beauty products the majority being fulled sized and is worth over £84 which is just incredible. This all-star collection includes some products that I voted for myself so I was delighted to see that these made the cut as well as some new discoveries too.

1.   Blogger’s Choice Award- COLAB Sheer & Invisible Dry Shampoo in Monaco – Travel Size 50ml

One product which truly impresses me time and time again is the COLAB Dry Shampoo and if you’re a regular reader you’ll already know how much I rave about these, it even gained it’s very own feature within my July Beauty Pick of the Month!

This is so much more than your average dry shampoo, it works great for dark haired girls, soaks up that unwanted oiliness effortlessly, gives lifeless looking hair much more oomph and they come in a variety of wonderful scents that leave the hair smelling freshly washed. Throughout the years I’ve tried various brands from budget friendly to high end and nothing comes close to COLAB, I don’t know what it is but they’ve got the formula so spot on.

On the days where I find my hair just needs a bit of a refresh and a little volume in between washes, COLAB is my go-to and saviour when it comes to dry shampoos.

2.   Body Beautiful- The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Miracle Solid Oil For Body & Hair – Full Size 50g. RRP £8.00

This multitasking product works exceptionally well for those extra dry areas, dull hair, or flyaways.  A little bit goes a long way and the compact tin makes it great for keeping in the handbag or when traveling.

The formula is in a solid form which you simply warm up with your fingers in order for it to turn into a oil. I have particularly dry feet at the moment but this leaves my skin super soft, absorbs quickly, and smells lovely. If you’re looking for something more hydrating for dry skin this is ideal for that.

3.   Must-Have Makeup Burt’s Bees Lip Crayon – Full Size. RRP £8.99

I really like the Burt’s Bees classic lip balm and since trying this crayon from the LIB Beauty Awards I’ve been hooked ever since.

This creamy and semi-matte crayon with rich opaque pigment gives a gorgeous pop of  colour and feels incredibly soothing and comfortable on the lips. It’s just the kind of finish I want from a lip crayon and has the added bonus of also caring for your lips too.

4.   Best Newcomer- Zoella Beauty Fresh Fizz Fragranced Bath Fizzer – Full Size RRP £5.00

I’m quite new to the Zoella Beauty range and the Fresh Fizz Bar is a new addition to the collection so it was great to see this inside the box.

The bath fizzer claims to transform your bath into a fragrant, fruity soak to leave you feeling refreshed and re-energised.

The scent is very light and fresh , perfect for summer and I love that you can simply break the chunks off just like a chocolate bar!

5.  Green Award- Dr Organic Snail Gel Facial Serum – Full Size 30ml. RRP £17.99

Snail products have been around a long time in Asia and I first discovered them when I subscribed to my first ever K-Beauty box and whilst some may not be brave enough to give these types of products a go, the amazing benefits really do speak for themselves.

This non-greasy facial serum blends Snail Gel with the Proteolea® complex containing Olive Leaf Extract and Jujube Seed Extract, it leaves skin feeling smoother, nourished and restored. The Proteolea® complex is clinically proven to improve skin hydration by 32% after four weeks.

6.  Hottest Haircare- Philip Kingsley Elasticizer – Sample Size 20ml.

I’m always on a mission to get my hair in good condition as I have a fair bit of trouble with frizziness, dryness not to forget damage from heat styling but there’s always one product which saves the day and that’s the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. With the full size costing a whooping £55 I was delighted to see this sample!

The Philip Kingsley Elasticizer is an intensive, super-moisturising pre-shampoo treatment for all hair types” that promises to add “elasticity, manageability, bounce and shine” and for me it’s a great quick-fix when I need my hair to behave!

7.   Skincare Saviour- Burt’s Bees Soap Bark & Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream – Full Size 170g. RRP £10.99

The Burt’s Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream is a rich, sulfate-free facial cleanser is made with a gentle, yet effective plant-based cleansing complex featuring quillaja saponaria (soap) bark extract and witch hazel. Luxurious lather foams away excess dirt, oil and make-up leaving skin feelling clean and refreshed. Extracts of chamomile, echinacea and aloe help calm skin while glycerin and cocoa butter provide a touch of moisture for naturally fresh, healthy skin.

The size of the cleanser is absolutely huge!

8.  Best Eye Makeup- Eye of Horus Brown Mascara – Full Size. RRP £19.00

Eye of Horus has quickly become a cult brand amongst makeup lovers and many celebrities. Their luxurious line of products are based on the ancient and long-wearing formulas of the Ancient Egyptians, using ingredient such as Moringa Oil and Carnauba Wax. They strive to provide non-irritating, long lasting, paraben & cruelty-free and with high quality being at the forefront this mascara is packaged in a beautifully designed box with a gold and black motif.

Formulated to enhance your eyes, the Eye Of Horus Goddess Mascara strengthens and lengthens for Ultimate Goddess lashes and it’s natural based formula wont clump, run or smudge.
This actually lives up to its description and the natural ingredients of castor and moringa oil makes this mascara apply like a dream. The formula holds a curl well and the silicone brush ensures each lash in coated equally and the bristles are short enough to use on the inner corner and lower lash line. I’m not usually a fan of brown mascara but the babylon brown works really well for an everyday natural look.

9.   Cult Classic- La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (+) – Full Size 40ml. RRP £15.50

I wasn’t expecting the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (+) to be full sized so it was really generous of them to include this and such a lovely surprise.

Unfortunately I’m not someone who is blessed with naturally clear skin so I’m always on the hunt for new formula’s that claim to perform some of kind of miracle.

La Roche-Posay, a drugstore brand born in France are constantly conducting research with dermatologists and they found that people suffer not only with blemishes, but with the marks and scarring that they can leave on the skin, so with this in mind the Effaclar Duo+ was born. The formula claims to target blemishes at every stage of their life and eliminates acne marks from the second they start to form.

There’s a lot of fancy skin technology involved in the product itself that I won’t try to explain but I love that it’s light, non-sticky, melts into your skin and the matte finish counteracts any shine which is great for those with oily skin. As with all La Roche-Posay products, it’s kind to your skin, hypoallergenic and non comedogenic, and also contains the active ingredient Procerad, it soothes inflammation, rebuild’s the surface of your skin and helps to correct/prevent blemishes.

As someone who experiences breakouts once or twice a month I’ve really enjoyed using this since discovering it and I’m hoping that prolonged use will really benefit my skin.

My Verdict

I think you’ll agree that Latest in Beauty’s first ever Beauty Awards have definitely gone out with a bang, not only has it been hugely popular but it was such a great opportunity to get us beauty addicts in on the action too. Voted by you, the finale box is a great all-rounder that boasts good sized products, features a wealth of quality brands with lots of new discoveries on board including a couple of unexpected surprises. With 9 products inside and the majority being full sized it’s exceptional value for money and a box that will definitely have you beaming from ear to ear!
