The *September Birchbox happens to be a very special edition this month as they celebrate their 5th birthday so first things first a huge Happy Birthday to Birchbox who continue to master the art of delivering unique curations and interesting brands month on month! Sticking to the birthday theme and to no surprise, they’ve of course gone all out by treating subscribers with a choice of two beautiful designed boxes inspired by designs of their subscribers and inside there’s a solid collection of fabulous treats, all of which hail from the USA, I think we’ve been rather spoilt!

Covering all areas of beauty the September edition is a great all-rounder and as well as the usual delights, they’ve also added their own little treat – The Birchbrush, available in three lovely colours! This edition is one you won’t want to miss and whilst I’ve been really impressed with their curations this year I think this months line up is definitely going to be hard beat!

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 4-5 selected hair, make-up and beauty products from well-known brands and emerging brands as well as throwing in a lifestyle extra too. Birchbox is also a full-blown beauty destination where you can purchase all the brands which have been featured in their boxes with an exceptional reward program unlike any of the other beauty subscriptions.

1.   Bliss Foot Patrol – Travel Size 30ml. Full Size 75ml RRP £18.50

As summer draws to a close it’s the beginning of where our feet probably get neglected the most after all whose going to see them in the winter so I think this is a great addition inside this month.

The cream itself smells incredible with a very light peppermint scent that isn’t too over-powering and the cooling sensation kicks in straight away. This absorbs really well without leaving the skin feeling greasy, something that I really like about this cream. Apart from the hydration I’ve not noticed any immediate improvements so it will be interesting to see if this stands up to the task.

2.   Laqa & Co Cheeky Lip Pencil in Humble Brag Sample Size. Full Size £16.75

There’s a few shade variations of the Laqa & Co Lip Pencil and I received Humble Brag, a beautiful deep pink which also doubles up as a blush too.

The formula is creamy, pigmented and really packs a punch of colour, it’s brighter then what it looks! I think I prefer this as a blush as it blends in really well giving a beautiful flush of colour.

3.   John Masters Organics Citrus Neroli Detangler – Travel Size 30ml. Full Size 236ml RRP £17.06

I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve tried so far from John Masters Organics so was delighted to reacquainted with their Citrus Neroli Detangler, a product that I’ve sampled previously and absolutely love.

First off, the citrus scent is divine and really comes to life in the shower. Comprising of 18 organic ingredients, this detangler can be used as a leave-in conditioner or you can rinse it out after 1-3 minutes. It contains the nourishing power of natural soy & wheat proteins, flaxseed oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, sunflower seed oil, borage oil and vitamin E, not to mention 7 flower extracts and 4 essential oils and leaves my hair lustrous and bouncy without that greasy look.

4.   Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant – Sample Size 30ml. Full Size 118ml RRP £23.50

If you’re a regular reader within the blogging community you may have already come across Paula’s choice who’s better known as a cosmetic cop and someone who really dishes the dirt when it comes to cosmetics and skincare, so with this in mind and being in the know about all things beauty she’s developed her own skincare line.

For me personally this is probably the most exciting discovery inside this month’s box. The Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid which rapidly exfoliates both the skin’s surface and inside the pore, reshaping the pore lining, unclogging pores and improving skin cell turnover rate. I’m always on the hunt for spot busting formulas and this generous sized sample is perfect to really get a feel of the product.

5.   Benefit the POREfessional: License to Blot – Sample Size 1.4g. Full Size RRP £15.50

I’m a sucker for cute packaging and Benefit just produce the most adorable samples! License to Blot from the POREfessional range is fairly new and is an instant oil blotting stick to give your skin an instant matte look and claims to offer up to six hours of shine-free skin with its invisible mattifying spheres.

Rather than mess around with powder and blotting papers I much prefer this being in a stick form as its ideal for keeping shine at bay when you are on the go.

6.   Extra Beauty Bonus – The Birchbrush.

Last but not least is Birchbox’s very own Birchbrush, available in three different fun colours the brush glides through the hair without tugging or snagging and it’s compact size is ideal for keeping inside your handbag or in the shower, It’s such a lovely addition inside this month’s box.

My Verdict

Birchbox in celebration of their 5th birthday have without a doubt  gone all out to produce quite possibly the best line so far this year, it’s going to be a tough one to beat! Their birthday edition really shines inside and out and they’ve definitely treated their subscribers to a wide array of fabulousness covering all areas of beauty featuring a good mixture of well-known brands as well as some new discoveries from the USA. The samples are all good sized giving you plenty of time to determine which one(s) work best for you.

Birchbox as always continue to wow me with their beautiful curations and without fail there’s always something inside that I manage to fall in love with so If you like trying out products from well-known, loved and emerging brands Birchbox is definitely great for this. If you’re on a budget the monthly rotation of treats doesn’t break the bank either and introduces you to brands and products you might not have otherwise found, all of which can be purchased within their online shop.
