The Superbox #45 Pinkaholic Memebox has arrived and as promised features an all things pink line up from skincare products to make up. Inside the box showcases a great balance of wonderful new discoveries and certainly satisfies my obsession when it involves the colour pink!

Memebox is a rapidly-growing, leading e-commerce beauty retailer born in Seoul, currently headquartered in San Francisco, California and provide Korean Beauty Boxes.

They offer a huge range of different themed beauty boxes which caters for everyone’s needs and likes and the good news is they ship to the UK and other parts of the world for only $6.99. These are not monthly subscription boxes and are available to buy as one off’s. They sell out very quickly so you do need to be supersonic. The contents within these boxes are a complete surprise and only one item spoiler gets released prior to shipping which is an aspect I like about Memebox.

This box is all things pink from the feminine packaging to the pink charming potions and pink hued make-up shades within. The box contains 6 full sized items and features skincare and make up products.

1. Style Y Glossy Pit Crayon Lipstick – Full Size RRP £6.80

I was happy to see a pink lip product inside the box as I’ve been wishing for anything lip related in the shade pink for months!

The Style Y lip crayon provides a smooth textured glossy application which is moisturising giving a radiant pop of colour.

I received the shade Strawberry Tea which is a bright pink and was secretly hoping it wasn’t as bright when applied. Disappointingly it was way too vibrant for me!

2. Style Y Color Fit Bling Bling Auto Crayon Shadow – Full Size RRP £5.57

The Style Y Bling Bling Auto Crayon eye shadow comes in a pretty iridescent subtle pink shade with hints of sparkle.

The eye shadow is easy to blend with either a brush or your fingers giving a smooth lasting finish.

I love the colour which is very wearable and due to its sparkle would certainly be more suited to glam up your evening make-up look.

3. Shara Shara Aurora Liquid Highlighter – Full Size 9g RRP £4.95

This liquid highlighter which is subtly pink hued, creates a natural radiant dewy glow to illuminate your best features and brighten up your complexion.

Whilst the texture is very pliable, it’s quite shimmery and wouldn’t be suitable for during the day. I will give this another go when I’m off out in the evening.

4. Insobeau Perfect Deep Clean Cleansing Water – Full Size 200ml RRP £13.61

This pink cleansing water not only cleanses and removes make-up but also moisturises your skin without having to reach out for multiple products.

This all-in-one potion is enriched with orange peel, lemon balm and various vitamins and smells utterly delicious.

I’m trying to use only the minimum on my face at the moment and surprisingly this works incredibly well removing my eye make-up.

5. Secret Key Color Recipe The Pink Cream – Full Size 55g RRP £21.00

The Pink Cream which is literally pink inside and out, specifically targets signs of fine wrinkles and lines and works to tighten and lift dry sagging skin on the face.

The gel-like consistency feels really refreshing and soothing on the skin but unfortunately it’s not for my skin type which makes me sad as it smells lovely and feels very comfortable on the skin.

6. Awesome Awesome Glow Glow Balm – Full Size 45g RRP £21.65

The Glow Glow Balm is an ultra-hydrating and soothing balm which is pink and has a the same texture as Vaseline.

It contains skin loving ingredients such as argan oil, macadamia oil and olive oil to deliver hydration whenever your skin is in need of a moisture surge.

This multi-purpose balm can be used with your moisturiser to balance moisture levels and to give a healthy glow or alternatively can also be used as a lip balm, hand cream or as a highlighter.

I am relieved that this balm can be used on other areas and isn’t just limited for the face especially if like me you have oily or combination skin.

My Verdict

I am really happy with this Memebox which has been inspired by the colour pink. Inside the box showcases a great balance of wonderful new discoveries and certainly satisfies my obsession when it involves the colour pink! Memebox were also spot on when making the selections for this box which consists of 6 full sized products.

The contents within this box is worth £73.58 and the cost of the box including shipping works out to be around £18.29. It’s a small price to pay to discover these hidden gems. There’s no silly little samples in this box!

The box itself came well packaged in a robust padded envelope and I can confirm that no custom charges were incurred.

What makes Memebox very different is the variety and choice of beauty boxes which they offer their customers as a one off purchase. They release a huge amount of boxes throughout the year and will simply leave you spoilt for choice. They don’t release any spoilers prior to shipping so it’s a complete surprise when you receive it.

The information about the products and how to apply them is in English on a card enclosed inside of the box so you won’t be lost in translation.

The October 2014 You Beauty Discovery Box has arrived and after the success and popularity of last years Handbag Heroes shortlist, it’s been featured again this month showcasing a great balance of luxe, distinct and effective quick-fix products.

You Beauty Discovery have also changed the process of the shortlist menu go live time. The selection menu is now available on the 1st of the month from 7.00am as opposed to previously where you could choose from midnight. I preferred staying up as I’m not a morning person!

“You Beauty Discovery” is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 2 selected hair, make-up and beauty products from well-known and new brands and they also include 2-3 bonus samples. Unlike the other subscription boxes you get to choose two products of your choice from a diverse selection menu each month.

This month’s selection menu had a great variety to chose from which made the decision process even harder. You really can’t fault this beauty box as it’s incredibly good value for money. It’s quite unusual to see that majority of the products are still available which is a first since I subscribed!

My box included 2 products of my choice from the shortlist, two extra treats in the form of Gold Collagen Forte and a sample sachet of Cowshed Perfecting Night Serum.

1. Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick – Full Size RRP £18.50

The Illamasqua Lipstick was the first item which caught my eye in this month’s shortlist and I wasted no time in quickly adding this to my box. It’s definitely risky going for a lipstick where the shades do vary however I thought I’d take the chance as what’s the likelihood of receiving another dreaded nude shade?

Typically and as my luck goes I received the shade Buff which sits within the nude collection. Whilst this isn’t a naked nude it’s more of a warm brown shade which is great for Autumn if your complexion can pull it off. Unfortunately for me it was way to dark.

The lipstick itself has lovely satin finish which glides on the lips and has great moisturising properties and staying power.

2. Lalique Nilang Fragrance – Sample Size 4.5ml

The second item which stood out for me was the luxe Nilang perfume sample from the Lalique Collection and it comes presented in a delicate lavish voile pouch embossed with gold lettering. Inside the pouch is also an artificial flower with ribbon attached and pays homage to the lotus flower that inspired this line.

The Nilang perfume contains notes of Lotus Flower, Peach, Melon, Mandarin, Clove flower, Jasmine, Freesia, Wild blueberries, Amber, Vanilla, Praline and Sandalwood. The fragrance is quite sensual with a soft hint of fruitiness making it potent within it’s own class of uniqueness.

I would probably use this on a night out as opposed to during the day as the scent is quite overpowering and dominant.

3. Extra Samples within the box:

This month, You Beauty Discovery have included a full sized bottle of Gold Collagen Forte which is a new nutritional beauty supplement specifically designed for women aged 40+. I’m guessing one potion isn’t going to work any miracles and will need to be taken regularly to see any noticeable results. A pack of 10 supplements is £39.99.

There’s also a sachet sample of Cowshed’s anti-aging perfecting night serum which is the ultimate all-in-one skincare treatment for busy women. The serum-in-oil hybrid is packed full with botanical actives and essential oils that work wonders on your skin while you sleep, so that you can wake up to a firmer, brighter and smoother complexion.

My Verdict

The October Handbag Heroes shortlist showcases a great balance of luxe, distinct and effective quick-fix products this month. I am extremely happy with my picks this month. I’m especially smitten with the beautifully presented Nilang perfume by Lalique. I’m amazed by the intricate attention to detail and the lavish delicate presentation which accompanies this divine sample.

It was unfortunate that the Illamasqua lipstick in Buff didn’t suit me but I’m sure I will find someone to take this off my hands.

The value of my box is worth £22.50 which is more than the price of the box itself.

The magazine contained within the box includes various discount codes for all of the brands which have been featured this month which is great if you want to buy further products.

“You Beauty Discovery” impresses me every month. I always look forward to seeing their menu at the start of the month. Their wide selection of products in their menu has something for everyone and to date I’ve not been disappointed once . This box is a complete steal for £6.95 and worth every penny.

1.Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm – Sample Size 40ml. Full Size 125ml RRP £20.00

The Balance Me range is one of my all time favourites mainly because of their all natural and no nasties philosophy.

This dual cleansing balm aims to smooth skin, whilst enhancing natural radiance by exfoliating away dead skin cells with it’s tiny particles of oatmeal. It’s infused with natural oils help to soften and hydrate the skin which is perfect for using in the evening to remove all traces of make-up and dirt.

I found this slightly heavy on my oily skin, the formula is quite thick although it did manage to remove my make-up effortlessly. My skin felt deeply cleansed and very soft indeed. This balm would certainly suit those with dry thirsty skin and with Autumn kicking in it’s great for a surge of moisture as well as a deep clean.

2. KMS California Free Shape Hot Flex Creme – Sample Size 50ml. Full Size RRP £15.50

My second KMS California hair product this month in the form of a smoothing cream which is great to accompany my blow dry spray.

The KMS California Free Shape Hot Flex Creme is a heat activated smoothing and shaping cream that has been formulated to transform coarse and unruly hair types to leave hair with a gorgeous healthy shine. I was pleased to read that this also smooths frizz which is one of the issues I have with my unruly hair especially when it comes into contact with rain or humidity. The cream is also formulated with added heat protection and anti–breakage technology and is applied on damp hair before blow drying.

The cream itself is quite light weight, isn’t sticky to the touch and smells really pleasant. I will be trying this out on my next hair washing day to see if it controls and manages my frizzy hair.

3. Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm – Full Size RRP £8.00

I’m a Pixi virgin and have been meaning to try their products for a while however I can always rely on Birchbox to bring me something from my long wishlist. I’m delighted to have received the Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm which comes in an incredible full size.

This pretty lip balm is packed with lip loving ingredients such as shea butter and Vitamin E and smells utterly delicious.

The lip balm itself is incased in pink and inside is a soothing, creamy and hydrating balm which feels very comfortable on the lips. I received the shade Ripe Rasberry which is a sheer vibrant pink shade and surprisingly it’s quite pigmented and gives a great pop of colour.

4. Meaningful Beauty Glowing Serum – Sample size 8ml. Full Size 15ml RRP £30.95

Over 10 years ago, Cindy and Dr. Sebagh began collaborating to bring his amazing formulas to women everywhere in the form of Meaningful Beauty. Since that initial launch, they utilised the latest scientific innovation and enhanced it with advanced formulations and new anti-ageing products.

This soothing blue gel alleviates shaving and waxing woes and targets ingrown hairs, razor bumps, razor burn, and redness. The ingredient’s ensure that your skin is completely chilled out with it’s essential solution that delivers calming benefits for all skin types.

The scent is quite medicinal and the sample itself is good sized for a few applications. I can see myself reaching out for this when I’m in need of a rescue me fix!

My Verdict

I adore this month’s Birchbox in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in particular the collaboration with Coopafeel which really stands out for me not to forget the great beauty line up which has a great balance of products. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and this month, Birchbox and Coopafeel have covered all area’s to ensure we are all more breast aware by delivering vital information to all their subscribers.

As well as supporting a great cause I love the theme and the selected brands and products within the box and everything is very useable. I’ve also discovered Pixi which I’ve been meaning to try for a while and look forward to making some additional purchases via the Birchbox online shop.

The shampoo is designed to help revive weak damaged hair and includes strengthening ingredients such as Pro-Keratin and Incell which not only protects against external aggressors but claims to leave your hair gleaming and up to 70% more resistant to breakage.

The intensely nourishing hair masque is also from the same range and is designed to specifically treat weak, damaged hair, this masque works to deeply nourish and condition, leaving your hair strong and super soft.

I’ve abused my hair with heat styling tools for years which has resulted in my hair becoming thin, brittle and dry. I can’t wait to try this duo, both of which target my hair concerns.

2. KMS California Free Shape Quick Blow Dry – Sample Size 75ml. Full Size 200ml RRP £11.45

I’m a newbie to the KMS California range and excited to have received a blow dry spray as I struggle each week trying to tame my unruly frizzy hair which doesn’t want to behave. It can take up to 1 hour trying to get some what of a perfect blow dry even though it never comes out the same when you visit the hairdressers!

This spray claims to speed up drying time by up to 50% and is formulated to reduce friction whilst still conditioning hair and leave locks looking and feeling soft, smooth and in control. It’s also a heat protector too which is an added bonus.

I’m always in a hurry in the morning which means getting up at ridiculous o’clock when it’s hair washing day . If this cut’s my blow drying time even by 15 minutes I will be extremely happy.

3. Balance Me Facial Expression Filler – Full Size 15ml . RRP £22.00

I’m a big fan of Balance Me and their philosophy which uses innovative naturally active botanicals, hi-tech natural formulations and pure grade essential oils powerful botanicals to deliver an all natural aromatherapy skincare range.

Claiming to be every woman’s saviour, this Facial Expression Filler from Balance Me works to firm, lift and refine the skin to give you a youthful look. 4. This Works Sleep Plus Pillow Spray – Sample Size 5ml. Full Size 75ml RRP £25.00

September’s Look Fantastic Box featured a sleep pillow spray and this month it’s made another appearance but it’s a brand new edition which has been recently launched by This Works. This act’s faster then the original spray and aims to help you wake up and feel refreshed.

This spray is a fast acting natural remedy to help restore healthy sleep patterns for restless sleepers and is clinically proven to provide a better night’s sleep. It contains a potent blend of Lavender which naturally encapsulates to gradually release aromatherapeutic benefits as you sleep. This edition has more of a lavender fragrance and does smell a little medicinal.

I must admit I generally don’t have a problem falling asleep. I wish I could say the same about getting up in the morning! I’m not a morning person at the best of times and my snooze button will definitely agree. It will be interesting to see if this works any miracles for me.

5. Korres Citrus Shower Gel – Sample Size 50ml. Full Size 250ml RRP £8.00

I received a sample of the Korres Body lotion from the same citrus range at the beginning of the year and was pleased to see a shower gel as opposed to the latter.

The Korres Citrus Shower Gel surrounds you with an uplifting, clean and fresh aroma and has a creamy-foam texture to leave your skin soft and hydrated and containing vitamin C and E, zinc and anti-oxidant enzymes to enhance the skin’s immune system, this is due to active aloe’s ability to stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis, which helps reduce the visible signs of ageing.

The citrus scent is pretty absent from this shower gel as it’s very subtle and you can just about smell the zesty notes after a few sniffs. The formula itself lathers up pretty well and is dermatologically tested and free from mineral oil, silicone, propylene glycol and ethanolamine.

6. Gatineau Paris Collagene Expert Ultimate Skin Soothing Cream – Sample Size 15ml. Full Size RRP £54.19

As the name suggests, Gatineau was founded in France and is a leading French skincare brand which offers a wide range of high performance products based on proven technology.

This cream has high concentrates of collagen and elastin which helps correct the appearance of wrinkles and uneven skin texture. It’s contains ingredient’s such as Tri-Collegen complex and Hyaluronic Acid for a smooth and plumped complexion.

My Verdict

After the huge success of last month’s box, Look Fantastic have pulled it out of the bag again and have delivered another well curated box which has a great balance of products featuring well known brands and a couple of new discoveries for me.

The October box features an amazing line up and showcases well known and popular brands such as L’Oreal Professional, Gatineau, Balance Me, This Works, Korres and KMS.

In my opinion the quality, the presentation and the product selection throughout their boxes remains to be consistently great and focuses mainly on medium to high end brands. The samples sizes are very good sized (more travel sized) and this month’s edition included an incredible 7 products, 1 of which is a full sized product from Balance Me. I think sometimes people forget that the sole purpose of these boxes are to enable you to trial products before you buy.

If you subscribe to a few boxes already you will know that a lot of the products seem to make their rounds from box to box. I’ve not seen any of these products in the other boxes making this box quite unique and different.

It’s certainly a nice monthly treat to receive through your letter box and having had a couple of tasters I think it’s safe to say that Look Fantastic certainly know the concept of a beauty box.
