It’s that time again when I pick my favourite product which I received in one of my many beauty boxes. This month’s showstopper is the iconic GLAMGLOW YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Mask which I received in my Look Fantastic Beauty Box and it definitely deserves to be in the spotlight. It’s been on my wishlist for quite sometime and I was delighted to see this renowned mask which claims to deliver the most incredible instant results in just one application.

The GLAMGLOW Youth Mud Mask is a performance driven super mask which contains the highest quality ingredients giving exceptional results. It doesn’t just take care of one skin concern, it delivers everything you need for great skin, whatever your skin type from brightening to toning the skin. It delivers both instant and cumulative results and leaves your complexion revived and glowing for 3 days after each application. With its heritage in Hollywood film studios The GLAMGLOW range has acclaimed it’s fame in the UK too.

We all hope for some form of miracle when it comes to facial beauty products from lustrous flawless skin to instant quick fixes especially now as winter really puts our beauty regime to the test. Having finally road tested this mask it’s truly been my skin saviour this month and has become a firm favourite which delivers every time.

This isn’t your average type of mask as such and whilst it’s clay based it also contains actual green tea leaves and fine grain particles from volcanic pumice rock. The mask has a pleasant green tea scent which reminds me of a perfume by Elizabeth Arden. The texture is thick and spreads easily however the leaves do fall off and leave a little mess on the floor so I would advise applying this in the bathroom!

I simply left this on for around 10 minutes and after a few minutes I could really feel the tingling sensation which is quite bizarre at first but you soon adapt to it. Once the ten minutes were up I wet the mask a little and massaged gently to benefit from the exfoliating grains. The mask is easy to remove and doesn’t leave any unwanted residue on the on the skin.

I wasn’t expecting any miracles and neither was I going to look ten times younger but miraculously my lack-lustrous skin immediately looked brighter, clearer and more radiant. This mask is seriously just wow and whilst the glow didn’t last for three days as per it’s claims my skin looked much healthier and my blemishes looked more blurred. I’ve since purchased the full size tub and have been using this once a week. It’s been three weeks and I’m already noticing an improved difference in my skin. The Glamglow mask really is magic in a tub and it’s a great pick me up for all skin types, perfect for brightening up dull and problematic skin this winter.

After the success and the great response of last months box which once again flew off the shelf I couldn’t wait to unveil the November 2014 edition which is now available to purchase on the Look Fantastic website. This month’s box contains some all time favourites of mine and I’m delighted that’s there’s even a couple of items which until now remained un-ticked on my wishlist. It’s definitely a box you don’t want to miss out on and will not be around for long.

Look Fantastic have taken the plunge and bring you their very own monthly beauty box. Known for providing all things beauty from A-Z via their website if anyone could successfully pull this off it’s certainly them being experts in this trade already. With over 14,000 products online from more than 400 brands across hair, make up, skin care, nails, electrical, fragrance, health , home and organic it was inevitable that this beauty box was going to deliver and be a hit as soon as it landed. Really isn’t a surprise that these continually sell out when launched.

The box offers a selection of handpicked, must have beauty fixes wrapped in a beautifully presented box and delivered straight to your door. The beauty box will always include a minimum of six products and offers a selection of skin, hair, cosmetic and body products, catering to every kind of beauty lover.

This month’s box is filled with 6 beauty items which have been carefully selected and showcases well known and high end brands such as Eve Lom, GlamGlow, New Cid Cosmetics, Nuxe, Monu and Hand Chemistry.

1. Eve Lom Cleanser – Sample Size 30ml. Full Size 100ml RRP £55.00

The Eve Lom cleanser is one of my all time favourites which gives the most luxurious cleansing experience along side a muslin cloth.

This pioneering cult beauty balm which featured in Vogue Magazine was recognised as probably the best cleanser in the world. Whilst it’s heavenly formula removes traces of make-up including waterproof mascara it also works well as decongesting, toning and exfoliating the skin gently.

If that’s not enough to entice you it’s infused with a bespoke blend of skin loving ingredients such as Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Cloves and Hops which has the most divine fragrance. This works well alongside a muslin cloth.

2. Hand Chemistry Intense Youth Complex Hand Cream – Travel Size 30ml. RRP £7.99

The Hand Chemistry range has formed somewhat of a stir in the beauty industry and the store Boots even confirmed that this outselled every other hand and body product in their stores despite the 100ml tube costing £18.00.

Say hello to younger looking hands with the Hand Chemistry Intense Youth Complex Hand Cream which has a concentrated, multi-functional formula that simultaneously targets eight signs of hand ageing. This nourishing hand cream contains 19.5% active ingredients that work to improve firmness, smoothness and evenness. The most grabbing statement is “expect visible results in less than 11 days”

I was really happy to see this tucked inside the box and I can now try this without buying the full-sized. This sample itself is good-sized which will enable you to test out the 11 days claim. I will definitely be reaching out for this when my hands need a pick me up.

3. GLAMGLOW Youth Mud Tingle Exfoliate Treatment – Sample Size 15g . Full Size RRP £39.99

I was delighted to see the iconic GLAMGLOW mask inside this month’s box. It’s been on my wishlist for some time and whilst the full-sized tub doesn’t come cheap I’ve heard miraculous things about this mask.

This exclusive mud facial treatment which is all the rage in Hollywood will leave your face totally rejuvenated and your complexion gleaming within 10 minutes.

Made from only the very finest quality ingredients, such as French sea clay and volcanic minerals. The unique tingling and exfoliating treatment works for all skin types to tackle any problem areas and leaves skin soft and renewed and the results claims to make your complexion look utterly refreshed and glowing for three days after application – now that’s just wow!

I can’t wait to give this go at some point this week and I can finally say goodbye to the GlamGlow Virgin!

4. Monu Recovery Balm – Sample Size 30ml. Full Size 50ml RRP £22.50

This moisturising balm is specifically for tired stressed skin which aims to calm and refresh. The gentle formula of this balm works as immediate relief to soothe irritation and reduce inflammation to all skin types, especially sensitive or over worked skin.

Using only the purest of ingredients it’s packed with Evening Primrose oil, Blackcurrant Seed oils and active ingredients from shea butter to plants. The Monu Recovery Balm will hydrate dry, thirsty skin and leave it feeling refreshed, renewed and perfectly soft.

This also contains relaxing scents of Soft Rose and Bergamot essential oils to calm the senses and smells really therapeutic which is something that appeals to me.

My skin isn’t very happy at the moment and every week I have a new breakout. I’m hoping this works some magic on my skin.

5. New Cid Cosmetics Lip and Cheek Tint – Full Size RRP £14.00

There’s been quite a few make-up requests to Look Fantastic and they have fulfilled by including a lip and cheek tint from New CID Cosmetics this month. This crayon is a new launch in their collection and comes in 6 different shades.

This is a retractable chubby crayon and I received Strawberry Souffle which is a pretty red shade perfect for evenings out with the upcoming party season. Described as a pencil for on the go, it can be used as a blusher, lip liner and a lip stick.

Usually these types of crayon give a little flush of colour, this is super pigmented and gives a really true shade of red within a couple of sweeps. It feels nourishing on the lips too without any stickiness.

6. NUXE Nuxellence Jeunesse Youth and Radiance Revealing Fluid – Sample Size 15ml. Full Size 5oml RRP £31.30

This moistursing cream improves the texture and appearance of your skin and re-energises your cells to help you create a clearer looking complexion whilst its anti-ageing properties repair mitochondrial DNA to reveal skin’s youth and radiance.

With it’s light floral undertones, this feminine scented fluid has been formulated with 87% natural ingredients and will leave your skin looking youthful, radiant and feeling velvety smooth. It’s suitable for all skin types too.

My Verdict

After the huge success of last month’s box, Look Fantastic have pulled it out of the bag once again and have delivered another well curated box which has a great balance of products featuring well known brands and a couple of new discoveries for me. This box impresses me each month and it certainly gives you an opportunity to try more upmarket beauty brands without the hefty price tag.

The November box features an amazing line up and showcases well known and popular brands such as Eve Lom, GlamGlow, New Cid Cosmetics, Nuxe, Monu and Hand Chemistry. . I’ve definitely struck gold with November’s box, everything’s very useable and by far this is one of my favourite editions since they launched in September.

As an extra treat, Look Fantastic have also included a £10 gift voucher to spend on luxury fashion site, Coggles.com.

In my opinion the quality, the presentation and the product selection throughout their boxes remains to be consistently great and focuses mainly on medium to high end brands. The samples sizes are very good sized (more travel sized) and this month’s edition included an incredible 6 products, 2 of which are full sized. I think sometimes people forget that the sole purpose of these boxes are to enable you to trial products before you buy.

If you subscribe to a few boxes already you will know that a lot of the products seem to make their rounds from box to box. I’ve not seen any of these products in the other boxes making this box unique and different.

It’s certainly a nice monthly treat to receive through your letter box and having had a few tasters I think it’s safe to say that Look Fantastic certainly know the concept of a beauty box.

After the success and the great response of the first ever Look Fantastic Beauty Box which flew off shelf within 24 hours I couldn’t wait to unveil the October 2014 edition which is now available to purchase via their website.

This month’s box is filled with 7 beauty items which have been carefully selected and showcases well known and high end brands such as L’Oreal Professional, Gatineau, Balance Me, This Works, Korres and KMS California.

1. L’Oreal Proffesional Serie Expert Pro-Keratin Refill Shampoo and Masque – Sample Size 100ml and 75ml

My first up market shampoo and conditioner purchase came from the L’Oreal Professional range many years ago whilst at the hairdressers. I’m happy to be re-introduced to the brand in the form of two very good sized products from the Serie Expert Pro-Keratin Refill collection.

The shampoo is designed to help revive weak damaged hair and includes strengthening ingredients such as Pro-Keratin and Incell which not only protects against external aggressors but claims to leave your hair gleaming and up to 70% more resistant to breakage.

The intensely nourishing hair masque is also from the same range and is designed to specifically treat weak, damaged hair, this masque works to deeply nourish and condition, leaving your hair strong and super soft.

I’ve abused my hair with heat styling tools for years which has resulted in my hair becoming thin, brittle and dry. I can’t wait to try this duo, both of which target my hair concerns.

2. KMS California Free Shape Quick Blow Dry – Sample Size 75ml. Full Size 200ml RRP £11.45

I’m a newbie to the KMS California range and excited to have received a blow dry spray as I struggle each week trying to tame my unruly frizzy hair which doesn’t want to behave. It can take up to 1 hour trying to get some what of a perfect blow dry even though it never comes out the same when you visit the hairdressers!

This spray claims to speed up drying time by up to 50% and is formulated to reduce friction whilst still conditioning hair and leave locks looking and feeling soft, smooth and in control. It’s also a heat protector too which is an added bonus.

I’m always in a hurry in the morning which means getting up at ridiculous o’clock when it’s hair washing day . If this cut’s my blow drying time even by 15 minutes I will be extremely happy.

3. Balance Me Facial Expression Filler – Full Size 15ml . RRP £22.00

I’m a big fan of Balance Me and their philosophy which uses innovative naturally active botanicals, hi-tech natural formulations and pure grade essential oils powerful botanicals to deliver an all natural aromatherapy skincare range.

Claiming to be every woman’s saviour, this Facial Expression Filler from Balance Me works to firm, lift and refine the skin to give you a youthful look. Boasting an active concentrate of Rose, Frankincense and Bergamot this serum targets the visible signs of ageing with fast results. With Accacia gum and Acmella Oleracea plant extract to soothe and relax contracted muscles combined with super hydrating Hyraluronic Acid to plump and smooth, your skin will be left feeling softer than ever, with added firmness and a younger complexion.

This comes as an impressive full sized product retailing for £22.00 which beats the cost of the box alone.

4. This Works Sleep Plus Pillow Spray – Sample Size 5ml. Full Size 75ml RRP £25.00

September’s Look Fantastic Box featured a sleep pillow spray and this month it’s made another appearance but it’s a brand new edition which has been recently launched by This Works. This act’s faster then the original spray and aims to help you wake up and feel refreshed.

This spray is a fast acting natural remedy to help restore healthy sleep patterns for restless sleepers and is clinically proven to provide a better night’s sleep. It contains a potent blend of Lavender which naturally encapsulates to gradually release aromatherapeutic benefits as you sleep. This edition has more of a lavender fragrance and does smell a little medicinal.

I must admit I generally don’t have a problem falling asleep. I wish I could say the same about getting up in the morning! I’m not a morning person at the best of times and my snooze button will definitely agree. It will be interesting to see if this works any miracles for me.

5. Korres Citrus Shower Gel – Sample Size 50ml. Full Size 250ml RRP £8.00

I received a sample of the Korres Body lotion from the same citrus range at the beginning of the year and was pleased to see a shower gel as opposed to the latter.

The Korres Citrus Shower Gel surrounds you with an uplifting, clean and fresh aroma and has a creamy-foam texture to leave your skin soft and hydrated and containing vitamin C and E, zinc and anti-oxidant enzymes to enhance the skin’s immune system, this is due to active aloe’s ability to stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis, which helps reduce the visible signs of ageing.

The citrus scent is pretty absent from this shower gel as it’s very subtle and you can just about smell the zesty notes after a few sniffs. The formula itself lathers up pretty well and is dermatologically tested and free from mineral oil, silicone, propylene glycol and ethanolamine.

6. Gatineau Paris Collagene Expert Ultimate Skin Soothing Cream – Sample Size 15ml. Full Size RRP £54.19

As the name suggests, Gatineau was founded in France and is a leading French skincare brand which offers a wide range of high performance products based on proven technology.

This cream has high concentrates of collagen and elastin which helps correct the appearance of wrinkles and uneven skin texture. It’s contains ingredient’s such as Tri-Collegen complex and Hyaluronic Acid for a smooth and plumped complexion.

My Verdict

1. Caudalie Divine Oil – Sample Size 30ml Full Size 100ml RRP £27.00

I was introduced to this luxurious oil a few months ago and religiously used the whole bottle during the Summer. Happy to be re-acquainted with the Caudalie Divine Oil.

This is a nourishing multi-purpose miracle oil which is an indulgent treat for dry skin, hair and nails. The unique blend of natural oils, gentle fragrances and softening shea butter can also be used to restore the skin in the bath or during a massage.

The oil has beautiful but subtle floral fragrance and it’s multi purpose properties have so may uses, the list is simply endless.

2. Kerastase Nutritive Irisome Bain Satin 1 Shampoo and Condition – Sample Sizes 80ml and 75ml. Full Size Duo Set RRP £22.20

I am a big of Keratase and was happy to see that both a shampoo and conditioner from the Nutritive Range was within the box. There’s nothing worse than receiving an incomplete set for hair as sometimes you either only get a shampoo or just a conditioner. I like to try both to really get a feel of the brand and the product as they both work hand in hand.

Specially formulated to meet the needs of normal to slightly dry hair, Kerastase Nutritive Irisome range gently cleanses your hair of dirt, excess oil and product build-up, whilst deeply moisturising and conditioning your hair to restore it back to full health.

Whilst these may be sample sizes they are really good sized.

3. St Tropez Bronzing Mousse – Sample Size 50ml . Full Size 240ml RRP £30.64

I’ve not used St Tropez for years and happy that I’ve been re-introduced to the brand in the form of a self tanning mousse. I particularly like the St Tropez range as the developed colour is more of a natural glow rather than a full on colour.

St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse is a super-lightweight, easy-to-apply, velvety mousse that delivers the ultra-even all-over tan you’ve always wanted. Delivering a streak free tan, it dries in just 60 seconds so you can whip it on anytime, anywhere.

St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse contains an innovative fragrance technology that helps to take away the tell-tale tanning aroma to make way for a beautiful subtle, yet refreshing fragrance.

I can’t wait to try this mousse and the 50ml size should hopefully give me one full application.

4. This Works Deep Pillow Spray – Sample Size 5ml. Full Size 75ml RRP £16.00

Now this product excites me and as soon as I saw the packaging I knew exactly what it was. I have been meaning to try this spray and convinced myself I really didn’t need it. I sleep like a log at the best of times and it’s very rare that I suffer from insomnia but I like calming and relaxing aroma’s and this spray sounded perfect for a better night’s sleep.

This spray aims to give you a relaxing and rejuvenating deep sleep and is formulated with natural oils such as Lavender, Vetivert and Wild Camomile which release relaxing vibes so you inhale calm and exhale your worries.

I applied a couple of sprays on my pillow and the scent is intensely relaxing and quite comforting. It’s a very herbal fragrance and isn’t overpowering at all. Whether this put me to sleep or not I couldn’t really tell you but I love the concept and it’s calming properties. Definitely one for the wishlist!

5. Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Serum – Sample Size 15ml. Full Size 30ml RRP £45.00

I’m familiar with Jurlique products and have seen some raving reviews of their skincare range.

This youth defence concentrate serum features a proprietary active complex: Naturadiance PB18+ to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, help increase elasticity, restore radiance and increase hydration, while antioxidants create a natural defence shield to help protect against environmental aggressors. Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Serum leaves skin visibly glowing, hydrated and younger-looking.

As this isn’t suitable for my skin type I will be gifting this to my mum.

My Verdict

Look Fantastic known for providing all things beauty from A-Z via their website have definitely hit the beauty box industry with a bang and they certainly didn’t disappoint with this showstopper of a box. They definitely exceeded my expectations with their first ever beauty box.

The September box featured an incredible line up and showcases well known brands such as Keratase, This Works, St Tropez, Jurlique and Caudalie.

In my opinion they have executed their first box very well from the presentation to the contents within the box. Inside the box also contains pretty information cards which are quite descriptive.

Whilst there are no full sized products the samples themselves are very good sized enabling you to get a good feel of the brand and product and perfect for weekends away. I think sometimes people forget that the sole purpose of these boxes are to enable you to trial products before you buy. It’s certainly a nice monthly treat to receive through your letter box!

The value of this month’s box is £54.00 beating the cost of the box which is only £15.00
