The October 2014 Love Lula Beauty Box has arrived and there’s nothing more delightful then receiving a box filled with natural skin loving treats. This month’s box contains an impressive line up and covers all aspects of beauty and excitingly, most of the brands are new discoveries for me.

LoveLula brings together an unparalleled selection of the world’s finest natural and organic beauty products. Their brands are hand-picked and tested: products are created using only the highest grades of ethically sourced natural and organic ingredients and must be effective, luxurious and guilt-free.

They insist on NO parabens, NO SLS’s and NO animal testing. Beyond this they seek out the most innovative companies and strive to support morally run and environmentally driven businesses. Love Lula also have a online shop which has a huge selection of the world’s finest natural and organic beauty products.

This month’s box includes 1 full sized product, 5 travel sized samples and 3 sample sachets. The box features Inika, Bodhi & Birch, Yes to Carrots, Dr Lipp, Green People and John Masters Organics.

1.    Inika Organic Eye Liner –  Full Size RRP £13.50

The Inika brand is certainly a new discovery for me and I was pleased to be introduced to their Certified Organic Eyeliner which came in the shade Black Caviar.

With it’s rich and creamy consistency, the liner glides on smoothly onto the water line giving a pigmented blackest of black solid line in one effortless swipe. This organic formula is also perfect for those with the most sensitive eyes.

Inside the box also includes a complimentary sharpener lid which is great to attach to the liner when you’re on the go or traveling.

I’m incredibly impressed with this eyeliner in particular the depth of the black which really accentuates the eyes. After being on the hunt for a new eye liner the last couple of weeks, I’ve fallen in love with this one which applies effortlessly and doesn’t smudge or make it’s way under my eye area.

2.   Bodhi & Birch Mint Thé Refreshing Bath and Shower Therapy  –  Sample Size 50ml

The Mint Thé refreshing bath and shower therapy gel rejuvenates the body and mind with a revitalising fusion of Peppermint, Spearmint, Eucalyptus, Sweet Marjoram and opulent Frankincense. It’s potent mint scent is very over powering and if you’re looking for a pick-me-up in the morning to awaken your senses this could potentially do the trick.

This invigorating gel leaves your skin highly refreshed and resuscitated, deeply cleansed but not taut or dry and is great for after sports. It can also be used for a therapeutic bath soak.

3.   Dr Lipp Original Lip Balm – Sample Size 3ml

This formula which was originally developed as a nipple balm for breastfeeding women due to its ultra hydrating & hypoallergenic multipurpose properties, is an extremely versatile healing and nourishing balm thanks to it’s one key ingredient which is Lanolin. The formula is 100% natural, hyper allergenic, odourless and contains no parabens.

I already use this lip balm which sits on my bedside table ready for me to apply before I go to bed and it’s great for  dry chapped or sore lips with it’s super moisturising and conditioning formula. It’s the perfect SOS balm for keeping the lips hydrated and soft as we approach the colder months.

The balm also has multi purpose uses and isn’t just restricted for the lips. It soothes dry and sensitive skin and can be used for dry cuticles, dry skin patches, burns and abrasions, sore nipples, split ends and eczema.

4. Yes to Carrots Gentle Cleansing Wipes  – Sample Size 10 wipes

The Yes to brand is an organic line that utilises the natural goodness of fruit and vegetables to bring you a complete skincare range for different skin types.

The Yes to Carrots Gentle Cleansing Wipes are formulated for normal-to-dry skin types looking for a nourishing formula without the fragrance and not only cleanses but moisturises too with the power of carrots and Vitamin E.

The Yes to range boasts a wide selection of wipes for every skin type including their wide array of other skincare products.

The pack comes in a handy travel sized packet which includes 10 wipes.

5. Green People Gentle Cleanser – Travel Size 25ml RRP £4.95

Green People offer over 100 certified organic products in high performance award-winning ranges for all of the family including specialist skin conditions. Their products are packed with over 90% active natural and organic ingredients to protect, nourish, balance and, most importantly, respect the body.

This cleanser which is suitable for all skin types, gently removes all make-up including waterproof mascara and is alcohol-free, rich in moisture-binding and anti-inflammatory actives. It also cleanses away all impurities leaving your skin silky smooth and includes ingredient’s such as Organic Aloe Vera, Calendula, Shea butter, Squalane from Olive oil, Jojoba Esters & Rose Geranium. The scent is truly divine and is mainly dominated by the Rose Geranium which is very  pleasant.

6. Green People Age Defy Soft Buff Skin Exfoliator and sample sachets  – Sample Size 10ml and 2 sachets.

As well as targeting various skin concerns, Green People also have a premium collection called Age Defy which is a unique organic skin care regime for women aged 35+ to tackle the signs of mature skin.

This month’s box features an incredible line up including a good balance of natural and organic beauty treats, most of which were all new discoveries for me. The box also features 9 products which is amazing and this edition is one of my favourites by far from Love Lula.

The box included a mixture of full sized products, travel sized and a few samples sachets this month and featured the brands Inika, Bodhi & Birch, Yes to Carrots, Dr Lipp, Green People and John Masters Organics.

There are a couple of products I won’t make use out but I am extremely happy with the remainder of the contents. The most exciting discovery for me by far is the Inika Eyeliner pencil which has replaced my current liner and has earned a well deserved spot in my make-up bag!

The Love Lula Beauty Box offers a completely different experience compared to the others boxes and focuses only on all things natural and organic.

Love Lula also included a 20% off promotional code to use on their website on any of the brands which were featured in this month’s box which is valid throughout October.

The value of this month’s box is around £25+ beating the cost of the actual box.

If you love organic, natural and cruelty free products this is definitely the box for you. I have discovered some wonderful natural skin loving treats thanks to Love Lula.

Memebox Superbox #54 Pinkaholic
Price of the Box is $29.99 including shipping approx £18.29
No of Products in the Box – 6 items
Total value of contents in the box – £73.58
http://us.memebox.com/memebox-global

The Superbox #45 Pinkaholic Memebox has arrived and as promised features an all things pink line up from skincare products to make up. Inside the box showcases a great balance of wonderful new discoveries and certainly satisfies my obsession when it involves the colour pink!

Memebox is a rapidly-growing, leading e-commerce beauty retailer born in Seoul, currently headquartered in San Francisco, California and provide Korean Beauty Boxes.

They offer a huge range of different themed beauty boxes which caters for everyone’s needs and likes and the good news is they ship to the UK and other parts of the world for only $6.99. These are not monthly subscription boxes and are available to buy as one off’s. They sell out very quickly so you do need to be supersonic. The contents within these boxes are a complete surprise and only one item spoiler gets released prior to shipping which is an aspect I like about Memebox.

This box is all things pink from the feminine packaging to the pink charming potions and pink hued make-up shades within. The box contains 6 full sized items and features skincare and make up products.

1. Style Y Glossy Pit Crayon Lipstick – Full Size RRP £6.80

I was happy to see a pink lip product inside the box as I’ve been wishing for anything lip related in the shade pink for months!

The Style Y lip crayon provides a smooth textured glossy application which is moisturising giving a radiant pop of colour.

I received the shade Strawberry Tea which is a bright pink and was secretly hoping it wasn’t as bright when applied. Disappointingly it was way too vibrant for me!

2. Style Y Color Fit Bling Bling Auto Crayon Shadow – Full Size RRP £5.57

The Style Y Bling Bling Auto Crayon eye shadow comes in a pretty iridescent subtle pink shade with hints of sparkle.

The eye shadow is easy to blend with either a brush or your fingers giving a smooth lasting finish.

I love the colour which is very wearable and due to its sparkle would certainly be more suited to glam up your evening make-up look.

3. Shara Shara Aurora Liquid Highlighter – Full Size 9g RRP £4.95

This liquid highlighter which is subtly pink hued, creates a natural radiant dewy glow to illuminate your best features and brighten up your complexion.

Whilst the texture is very pliable, it’s quite shimmery and wouldn’t be suitable for during the day. I will give this another go when I’m off out in the evening.

4. Insobeau Perfect Deep Clean Cleansing Water – Full Size 200ml RRP £13.61

This pink cleansing water not only cleanses and removes make-up but also moisturises your skin without having to reach out for multiple products.

This all-in-one potion is enriched with orange peel, lemon balm and various vitamins and smells utterly delicious.

I’m trying to use only the minimum on my face at the moment and surprisingly this works incredibly well removing my eye make-up.

5. Secret Key Color Recipe The Pink Cream – Full Size 55g RRP £21.00

The Pink Cream which is literally pink inside and out, specifically targets signs of fine wrinkles and lines and works to tighten and lift dry sagging skin on the face.

The gel-like consistency feels really refreshing and soothing on the skin but unfortunately it’s not for my skin type which makes me sad as it smells lovely and feels very comfortable on the skin.

6. Awesome Awesome Glow Glow Balm – Full Size 45g RRP £21.65

The Glow Glow Balm is an ultra-hydrating and soothing balm which is pink and has a the same texture as Vaseline.

It contains skin loving ingredients such as argan oil, macadamia oil and olive oil to deliver hydration whenever your skin is in need of a moisture surge.

This multi-purpose balm can be used with your moisturiser to balance moisture levels and to give a healthy glow or alternatively can also be used as a lip balm, hand cream or as a highlighter.

I am relieved that this balm can be used on other areas and isn’t just limited for the face especially if like me you have oily or combination skin.

My Verdict

I am really happy with this Memebox which has been inspired by the colour pink. Inside the box showcases a great balance of wonderful new discoveries and certainly satisfies my obsession when it involves the colour pink! Memebox were also spot on when making the selections for this box which consists of 6 full sized products.

The contents within this box is worth £73.58 and the cost of the box including shipping works out to be around £18.29. It’s a small price to pay to discover these hidden gems. There’s no silly little samples in this box!

The box itself came well packaged in a robust padded envelope and I can confirm that no custom charges were incurred.

What makes Memebox very different is the variety and choice of beauty boxes which they offer their customers as a one off purchase. They release a huge amount of boxes throughout the year and will simply leave you spoilt for choice. They don’t release any spoilers prior to shipping so it’s a complete surprise when you receive it.

The information about the products and how to apply them is in English on a card enclosed inside of the box so you won’t be lost in translation.

Memebox enables me to discover Korean beauty products which are not available here in the UK and their boxes definitely give you an opportunity to try out the latest beauty trends in Korea .

You Beauty Discovery Box Review – October 2014

Price of the Box is £6.95 including P&P
No of Products in the Box – 4 items
Total value of contents in the box £22.50
www.youbeautydiscovery.co.uk

The October 2014 You Beauty Discovery Box has arrived and after the success and popularity of last years Handbag Heroes shortlist, it’s been featured again this month showcasing a great balance of luxe, distinct and effective quick-fix products.

To see the October Shortlist please click here

You Beauty Discovery have also changed the process of the shortlist menu go live time. The selection menu is now available on the 1st of the month from 7.00am as opposed to previously where you could choose from midnight. I preferred staying up as I’m not a morning person!

“You Beauty Discovery” is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 2 selected hair, make-up and beauty products from well-known and new brands and they also include 2-3 bonus samples. Unlike the other subscription boxes you get to choose two products of your choice from a diverse selection menu each month.

This month’s selection menu had a great variety to chose from which made the decision process even harder. You really can’t fault this beauty box as it’s incredibly good value for money. It’s quite unusual to see that majority of the products are still available which is a first since I subscribed!

My box included 2 products of my choice from the shortlist,  two extra treats in the form of Gold Collagen Forte and a sample sachet of Cowshed Perfecting Night Serum.

1. Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick – Full Size RRP £18.50

The Illamasqua Lipstick was the first item which caught my eye in this month’s shortlist and I wasted no time in quickly adding this to my box. It’s definitely risky going for a lipstick where the shades do vary however I thought I’d take the chance as what’s the likelihood of receiving another dreaded nude shade?

Typically and as my luck goes I received the shade Buff which sits within the nude collection. Whilst this isn’t a naked nude it’s more of a warm brown shade which is great for Autumn if your complexion can pull it off. Unfortunately for me it was way to dark.

The lipstick itself has lovely satin finish which glides on the lips and has great moisturising properties and staying power.

2. Lalique Nilang Fragrance – Sample Size 4.5ml

The second item which stood out for me was the luxe Nilang perfume sample from the Lalique Collection and it comes presented in a delicate lavish voile pouch embossed with gold lettering. Inside the pouch is also an artificial flower with ribbon attached and pays homage to the lotus flower that inspired this line.

The Nilang perfume contains notes of  Lotus Flower, Peach, Melon, Mandarin, Clove flower, Jasmine, Freesia, Wild blueberries, Amber, Vanilla, Praline and Sandalwood. The fragrance is quite sensual with a soft hint of fruitiness making it potent within it’s own class of uniqueness.

I would probably use this on a night out as opposed to during the day as the scent is quite overpowering and dominant.

3. Extra Samples within the box:

This month, You Beauty Discovery have included a full sized bottle of Gold Collagen Forte which is a new nutritional beauty supplement specifically designed for women aged 40+. I’m guessing one potion isn’t going to work any miracles and will need to be taken regularly to see any noticeable results. A pack of 10 supplements is £39.99.

There’s also a sachet sample of Cowshed’s anti-aging perfecting night serum which is the ultimate all-in-one skincare treatment for busy women. The serum-in-oil hybrid is packed full with botanical actives and essential oils that work wonders on your skin while you sleep, so that you can wake up to a firmer, brighter and smoother complexion.

My Verdict

The October Handbag Heroes shortlist showcases a great balance of luxe, distinct and effective quick-fix products this month. I am extremely happy with my picks this month. I’m especially smitten with the beautifully presented Nilang perfume by Lalique. I’m amazed by the intricate attention to detail and the lavish delicate presentation which accompanies this divine sample.

It was unfortunate that the Illamasqua lipstick in Buff didn’t suit me but I’m sure I will find someone to take this off my hands.

The value of my box is worth £22.50 which is more than the price of the box itself.

The magazine contained within the box includes various discount codes for all of the brands which have been featured this month which is great if you want to buy further products.

“You Beauty Discovery” impresses me every month. I always look forward to seeing their menu at the start of the month. Their wide selection of products in their menu has something for everyone and to date I’ve not been disappointed once . This box is a complete steal for £6.95 and worth every penny.

1.Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm – Sample Size 40ml. Full Size 125ml RRP £20.00

The Balance Me range is one of my all time favourites mainly because of their all natural and no nasties philosophy.

This dual cleansing balm aims to smooth skin, whilst enhancing natural radiance by exfoliating away dead skin cells with it’s tiny particles of oatmeal. It’s infused with natural oils help to soften and hydrate the skin which is perfect for using in the evening to remove all traces of make-up and dirt.

I found this slightly heavy on my oily skin, the formula is quite thick although it did manage to remove my make-up effortlessly.  My skin felt deeply cleansed and very soft indeed. This balm would certainly suit those with dry thirsty skin and with Autumn kicking in it’s great for a surge of moisture as well as a deep clean.

2. KMS California Free Shape Hot Flex Creme – Sample Size 50ml. Full Size RRP £15.50

My second KMS California hair product this month in the form of a smoothing cream which is great to accompany my blow dry spray.

The KMS California Free Shape Hot Flex Creme is a heat activated smoothing and shaping cream that has been formulated to transform coarse and unruly hair types to leave hair with a gorgeous healthy shine. I was pleased to read that this also smooths frizz which is one of the issues I have with my unruly hair especially when it comes into contact with rain or humidity. The cream is also formulated with added heat protection and anti–breakage technology and is applied on damp hair before blow drying.

The cream itself is quite light weight, isn’t sticky to the touch and smells really pleasant. I will be trying this out on my next hair washing day to see if it controls and manages my frizzy hair.

3. Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm – Full Size RRP £8.00

I’m a Pixi virgin and have been meaning to try their products for a while however I can always rely on Birchbox to bring me something from my long wishlist. I’m delighted to have received the Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm which comes in an incredible full size.

This pretty lip balm is packed with lip loving ingredients such as shea butter and Vitamin E and smells utterly delicious.

The lip balm itself is incased in pink and inside is a soothing, creamy and hydrating balm which feels very comfortable on the lips. I received the shade Ripe Rasberry which is a sheer vibrant pink shade and surprisingly it’s quite pigmented and gives a great pop of colour.

4. Meaningful Beauty Glowing Serum – Sample size 8ml. Full Size 15ml RRP £30.95

Over 10 years ago, Cindy and Dr. Sebagh began collaborating to bring his amazing formulas to women everywhere in the form of Meaningful Beauty. Since that initial launch, they utilised the latest scientific innovation and enhanced it with advanced formulations and new anti-ageing products.

I wasn’t even aware that Cindy Crawford had her own beauty line and Birchbox makes my first ever introduction in the form of the Meaningful Beauty Glowing Serum.

This luxe serum, which Dr. Sebagh calls his “models secret,” contains soy protein, marine botanicals, minerals and antioxidants and is designed to help smooth and condition, leaving your complexion with a youthful, luminous glow, whilst also boosting hydration.

I like that the sample comes with a pump applicator ensuring there’s minimal wastage.

5. Shaveworks The Cool Fix  – Sample Size 29ml. Full Size 60ml RRP £11.00

How many times have you rushed shaving your legs in the shower or run out of shaving gel resulting in your skin looking like a plucked chicken? I have many times and it’s not just the unsightly look it’s also the pain and irritation which comes with hair removal whether it be shaving or waxing.

This soothing blue gel alleviates shaving and waxing woes and targets ingrown hairs, razor bumps, razor burn, and redness. The ingredient’s ensure that your skin is completely chilled out with it’s essential solution that delivers calming benefits for all skin types.

The scent is quite medicinal and the sample itself is good sized for a few applications. I can see myself reaching out for this when I’m in need of a rescue me fix!

6. Lifestyle Extra – Birchbox Lipstick Pen –  £2.50

There’s a great addition to this month’s box  – an exclusive designed Birchbox pen disguised as a pink lipstick. It’s so adorable! Whether you’re making a list for your next shopping trip, putting together your Christmas present list or ticking off the tasks within the Birchbox 14-day planner,  this pen will make it a bit more fun!

I work in an office with two males who always ask to borrow my pens and funnily enough I never see them again. This pen is perfect as they certainly won’t be walking off with this one and it’s pretty unique so will be spotted quite easily!

7. Birchbox Pink Make-up Bag

Lastly is a pretty baby pink make-up bag which replaces the iconic Birchbox drawstring bag this month.

It’s good sized and will easily pop into your handbag to carry all of your daily essential make-up items when on the go.

My Verdict

I adore this month’s Birchbox in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in particular the collaboration with Coopafeel which really stands out for me not to forget the great beauty line up which has a great balance of products. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and this month, Birchbox and Coopafeel have covered all area’s to ensure we are all more breast aware by delivering vital information to all their subscribers.

As well as supporting a great cause I love the theme and the selected brands and products within the box and everything is very useable. I’ve also discovered Pixi which I’ve been meaning to try for a while and look forward to making some additional purchases via the Birchbox online shop.

This month’s box includes an amazing 7 items featuring well known brands and some great new discoveries for me. The samples are really decent sized too which gives you an opportunity to really road test the products.  The inclusion of the exclusive Birchbox pen and make-up bag finishes off the box perfectly, focusing on all things pink in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Beauty Pick of the Month – September 2014

IMG_6171[1]

IMG_6177[1]

Every month I pick my favourite product which I received in one of my many Beauty boxes. This month my beauty hero has been the Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara which I received in the Glamour Beauty Power List Box by Latest in Beauty.  It’s joined my make-up regime this month and I’m truly impressed.

We all lust for longer, bolder lashes which make a statement,  and if you’re anything like me I’m always on the look out for anything which promises length without the aid of false lashes. Usually I tend to reach out for mascara which promises longer lashes however this volume mascara is full of surprises as it volumises and lengthens in one easy step.

The Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde mascara gives lashes instant 360° volume and its unique brush has spherical bristles to wrap every lash and it’s straight bristles create clump free definition.

Whilst this appears to mainly focus on volume I found that it worked very well in lengthening the lashes too.  Not sure that one second quite does it, but this mascara is great for everyday wear and and applies effortlessly. A few strokes is all it takes to give you flattering results with a great depth of blackness. This could possibly be one of my favourite high street mascara’s.

Memebox #51 My Cute Wishlist 2 Review – September 2014

Memebox #51 My Cute Wishlist 2
Price of the Box is $29.99 including shipping approx £18.29
No of Products in the Box – 6 items
Total value of contents in the box – £51.18
http://us.memebox.com/memebox-global

After the success and the great response from the first edition of My Cute Wishlist, Memebox released another 3 and this is the 2nd in the series. I’m a pushover when it comes to cute beauty products whether it be the packaging or the contents within,  my purse is at the ready. When this was launched I wasted no time in purchasing it and was hoping that it would be as good as the first or even better. Unfortunately despite my high expectations this box didn’t even come close in contending with the first. Whilst I’m not disappointed with the products it’s more the lack of cuteness within the box.

These are not monthly subscription boxes and are available to buy as one offs. They sell out very quickly so you do need to be supersonic. The contents within these boxes are a complete surprise and only one item spoiler gets released prior to shipping which is an aspect I like about Memebox.

This box includes 6 full sized products and mainly focuses on skincare and make up

1. Sally’s Box Friendly Berry Berry Lip Patch – Full Size RRP £1.82

These lip patches are making a regular appearance this month and I’ve received another one this month.

Shaped as a lip this cute patch is an intense moisture treatment and is infused with various berry extracts which are rich in Vitamin C.

I finally managed to try this over the weekend. The texture is very jelly like and slimy to the touch and due to this,  the patch did slide off a few times! Once on it does feel refreshing and my lips did feel softer. This would be the perfect companion when applying a face mask.

2. It’s Skin Babyface Petit Blusher  – Full Size RRP £4.26

Enclosed within this charming container is a blusher along with a cute powder puff. There were 4 colours available in this blush and luckily I received the baby pink which is the shade I was hoping for.

This matte pink blusher is very subtle and great for achieving a no make up make up look. It did take a couple of sweeps for a visible result and I preferred using a brush as opposed to the powder puff. It’s the perfect size to pop into your make-up bag too.

3. RoseMine Perfumed Hand Cream – Full Size 60ml RRP £7.31

I’m a big fan of hand creams and always welcome them despite having a ridiculous amount already. The floral packaging fits in with the cute theme and looks very familiar to the Cath Kidston design.

The RoseMine Hand Cream has an emollient formula to deeply nourish the hands and nails. It’s enriched with shea butter, rose water, argan oil and mango seed butter making it pleasantly scented.

4. Evas Vitamin Cleansing Dessert – Full Size 130g RRP £10.97

This is the first product out of two which baffled me as I don’t really see any cuteness apart from the box. This would of been more suited to the dessert box which was released earlier this month.

There are 3 different types of cleansers available and I received Berry Mix. The Vitamin Cleansing Dessert removes make up and impurities to give you the ultimate clean feeling. The micro bubbles penetrate deep into the pores to extract blackheads, whiteheads and all acne-causing bacteria to achieve flawless skin. This smells deliciously yummy and it’s suitable for my oily skin type.  I look forward to trying.

5. SaintPeau Collagen Pudding Sleeping Pack – Full Size 100g RRP £21.95

Another item which made the shortlist and whilst the packaging has a cute little piggy advertising the product I’m not sure how this made it into the box.

The SaintPeau overnight face mask is infused with 52% natural collagen to give you radiant youth looking skin. The texture of this mask is like a jelly and claims to fill in fine lines and wrinkles and delivers deep nourishment to the skin to slow down the aging process.

Whilst this sounds like a miracle worker I’m not quite there yet when it comes to anti-aging products and will be passing this on to someone who can make use out of it.

6. The Yeon Style Y Fruity Swirl Lip Balm – Full Size RRP £4.87

Last up is the fruity swirl lip balm and out of the three types which were available I received Lime twist.

The green and yellow colours  gives the impression that this is going to have a citrus fragrance and surprisingly it doesn’t, it’s more of a watermelon scent which has sweet notes. It’s infused with jojoba oil which moisturises and locks in hydration with no signs of stickiness.

My Verdict

In my opinion this edition was a little bit of a let down, It came in a smaller box meaning fewer products and I’m some what baffled how a couple of the products made the shortlist as I don’t feel that they fitted in with the cute theme or stood out unlike the first box which was spot on. I think we got hugely spoilt with the first edition and it was definitely going to be difficult to compete with it.

Despite being disappointed with the shortlist and the lack of eye catching products I’m quite happy with the products I received, all of which will be used apart from the collagen mask.

The contents within this box is worth £51.18 and the cost of the box including shipping works out to be around £18.29. It’s a small price to pay to discover these hidden gems. No silly little samples in this box!

My Little Parisienne Box (September Edition)
Price of the Box –  from £13.95 a month
No of Products  – 6 items
www.mylittlebox.co.uk

I’m so excited to welcome the first UK edition of the September 2014 My Little Box. Since my unveiling of their previous box a few weeks ago I was truly impressed by everything which this box had to offer from the chic and cute presentation to the carefully selected products within the box.

I must admit I did have a sneaky peek at this month’s box and subscribed around two weeks ago and whilst it’s a bit late as we near the end of September I’ve definitely saved the best until last.

This box offers something very different compared to the other boxes and if their previous boxes are anything to go by you will certainly not be disappointed. It’s definitely a showstopper and one which is beautifully composed with their very own in-house illustrator Kanako.

My Little Box is a hand-picked and beautifully designed box of beauty, fashion and lifestyle surprises. With fashion accessories, beauty products and other goodies created exclusively for you and based around a different theme every month, each box promises to delight their subscribers. They also produce their in house beauty products known as My Little Beauty.

This month’s theme, My Little Parisienne Box fits in perfectly with the first UK edition. The box contains 6 items and includes a mixture of beauty products which is contained within a charming draw string bag and within the box is also a few lifestyle items.

1. Laura Mercier Foundation Primer- Travel Size 30ml RRP £19.00

Laura Mercier has been busy this month as this is the second offering I have received of this primer, not that I’m complaining as I now have two which will last for the remainder of the year if not longer.

This foundation primer is oil free  and creates the perfect canvas for makeup application, especially for those with sensitive and oily skin. The soothing, lightweight, water based gel forms an even, invisible layer that acts as a buffer to outside elements, expertly holding foundation for longer wear and keeping cosmetics from being absorbed into the skin.

I use this primer religiously as a base before applying my foundation. If you have oily/combination skin it’s the perfect formula as it’s very light weight and doesn’t feel greasy. Whilst on, this definitely works hand in hand with the foundation and controls any oil production on the surface of the skin and creates a smooth canvas which keep’s my foundation looking great and flawless all day.

2. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil – Sample Size RRP £3.66

The brand Nuxe was born in Paris in 1990 and created by a graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies and holder of an MBA in Marketing & Finance, Aliza Jabès, an inspired female entrepreneur.

Nuxe’s philosophy is “Beauty by Nature” offering a unique combination of nature, performance and sensuality with high-quality, efficient products

Whilst I’ve heard of this brand I’ve not had the opportunity to try any of the Nuxe range and was happy to be introduced in the form of their award winning and cult favourite the Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil.

This luxurious multi-purpose dry oil is made using six precious plant oils (Macadamia, Hazelnut, Borrage, Almond, Camellia and St. John’s Wort), and nourishes, repairs and softens skin and hair.

When applied it doesn’t feel greasy or oily, it goes on soft and smells divine pretty much like a field full of flowers in the Summer.

3.  My Little Beauty Stylo Lumiere Pen  – Full Size RRP £11.00

I think it’s pretty amazing that My Little Box also have their own beauty range which is called My Little Beauty.

This brush applicator pen is a complexion brightening product to give your skin an instant glow. The velvety texture is perfect for foundation fixes and can also be used as an eye shadow primer or as a boaster to brighten the complexion. If that’s not enough it’s waterproof too!

4. Lifestyle Items

This month’s box included 3 lifestyle items which finished the box off perfectly.

First up is  My Little Carnet which is a note book and on the first few pages is an introduction to My Little Box and their story which is really informative and gives you a good feel of the company.

Up next is a chic designed laptop case by their very own in-house illustrator Kanako. Unfortunately this didn’t fit my laptop despite trying to to squeeze it in a few times. Someone mentioned that this could be used as a hot water bottle cover which is a great idea so not all is lost!

Lastly is a pack of Parisienne themed stickers and these can be stuck onto your fridge, computer, phone or on a note book, the possibilities are endless!

 My Verdict

I’m extremely happy with the first UK edition of My Little Box. I find it amazing how so much love and passion has gone into this box from the attention to detail, the design and the contents. Their warming welcome was also was a lovely touch and certainly made you feel part of the My Little Box family.

As soon as I opened the box it spelt out quality, class and all things chic. The attention to detail is very intricate and delicate and it’s certainly evident that a lot of effort and planning has gone into delivering the UK version.  It’s uniqueness definitely stands out from the others and their presentation is the prettiest I’ve seen. My Little Box is full of charm and I love the surprise aspect as they do not release any spoilers. This is certainly a box I won’t be getting bored of!

Unfortunately the My Little World Magazine wasn’t available this month but it will be inside the box from October.

I can’t wait for next month’s edition.
