As much as I hate the cold, I’m trying to embrace the new season by thinking about all the wonderful things autumn has to offer and the *October Moi-Meme Box is definitely one of those wonderful things! Since their first successful debut in July it seems so long ago since I reviewed their last box and just when I thought they couldn’t beat the July edition they’ve knocked it out of the park this month. Their newest edition is appropriately themed around Hygge (a Danish word that is a feeling or mood that comes taking genuine pleasure in making ordinary, every day things more meaningful, beautiful or special) and is packed full of luxurious, pampering products for the ultimate me-time experience and once again has been very well-thought out and executed to perfection in accordance with the theme. Inside you’ll find six products, ranging from skincare and lifestyle items to make even the gloomiest nights of winter feel that little more bearable and I absolutely adore that it embodies that cosy feeling. Needless to say I’m truly smitten and so excited to unveil their October edition:
Winter months can really suck the life out of our skin leaving it lacklustre and craving moisture so these two new finds from NUORI are such a welcomed addition. I’ve not come across this brand before but they hail all the way from Denmark and have a unique selling point which is to provide fresh batches of skincare to their customers and the brand also promotes clean beauty, purity and fuss-free skincare without comprising on quality – sounds great right? First up from the collection is the NUORI Vital Foam Cleanser (full size 100ml RRP £25.00), a luxuriously creamy foaming cleanser that promises to meticulously removes dirt and makeup without stripping skin of its natural oils. The pomegranate enzyme and radish root extract gently and effectively remove impurities and slough away dead skin cells while oat kernel extract and natural betaine offer powerful antioxidant protection and combat redness and irritation.
Up next is sample of the NUORI Vital Eye Cream (sample size 5ml), a lightweight cream ideal for reducing first signs of aging in the delicate skin around the eyes. Hyaluronic acid, known for its powerful hydrating action, and organic aloe vera help restore skin’s moisture levels and smooth out fine lines. It contains a complex of shea butter, vitamin C, and vitamin E offers antioxidant protection.
On the lifestyle front you’re in for a true treat as there’s a host of apt essentials for those chilly nights in as well as an ever so beautiful bracelet that will go well with any outfit picks from your winter wardrobe:
Who doesn’t love a good pair of super cosy socks to lounge about in? The Yawn Cosy Sleep Socks (RRP £18.00) are incredibly luxe, warm and soft to the touch, and are long enough to keep your calves nice and warm on a chilly night plus did I mention you can wear them to sleep too! Designed to be durable but with a touch of cashmere luxury, the socks are made with love in Portugal, with fine quality yarn sourced from beautiful Italy.
From the same Yawn line you can also expect to see a Lavender Bag (RRP £5.00 designs will vary), a cute little bag that you can pop under your pillow for a dreamy nights sleep or alternatively this can also be stored inside your pyjama drawer or cupboard.
While we’re still on the subject of all things cosy, there’s nothing like creating a bit of ambiance to get your mind in a more relaxed place, and candles are by far one of my favorite ways to set the mood. The Dark Pomegranate Candle by The Bath Candle Company (RRP £25.00. Scents may vary) smells divine, with a sophisticated blend of warming notes that include aromatic pomegranate with soothing patchouli and Vanilla to create a calming soft scent. I haven’t burned this yet, as I’ve got a few other candles I’d like to finish up first but I love that Moi-Même Box have sourced this from a local company in Bath.
Last but certainly not least is the Edblad Monaco Bracelet (RRP £26.00 – comes in rose gold as pictured and also gold and stainless steel) a swedish brand who create jewellery, clothing and homeware. This dazzling rose gold bracelet is encrusted with cubic zirconia stones on the inside of the ring and is held by a thin adjustable chain. The bracelet really portrays sophistication and femininity, it’s definitely the kind of style I go for plus it will match with almost any outfit!
My Verdict
I have to give it to Moi-Même Box, this month’s beautiful collection is so on point and from the moment I opened the packaging I’m pretty sure my eyes turned into hearts! From skincare saviours, key essentials for those chilly evenings and pretty lifestyle treats they’ve hit the nail on the head when it came to curating a box to fit the apt hygge theme they chose for this edition and I also think the products they’ve selected are classic and universal enough to be enjoyed by everyone. In terms of the line up it once again boasts excellent value for money and with only one travel sized product and the remainder being full sized I’ll certainly be able to get many cosy nights in out of everything that’s included!
Moi-Même Box is a definitely a unique gem in the world of monthly beauty & lifestyle boxes and while the subscription box market is growing on a daily basis, their concept is unique and enticing and for me personally I love all the new finds and the high quality offerings from small batch companies and brands that are under the radar meaning they are very unlikely to show up in any of the other boxes. In terms of the cost, the quarterly subscription roughly amounts to the same if you’re already a monthly beauty box subscriber but the only downside is you’re parting with £49.95 in one go which may not be feasible for some but it’s worth trying at least once.
