Last month, Little Bit Lavish sent us to sleep with their Sweet Dreams edition and although I fall asleep easily…sometimes way too easily this month’s Wakey Wakey theme definitely had my name all over it as getting up in the morning is indeed challenging especially in the winter months! Luckily, this month’s curation contains some fabulous beauty products and features a collective of stimulating formulas and invigorating smells as well as an edible treat to help us rise and shine and of course face the day in the nicest possible way.  As always they’ve showcased ethically sourced brands from well-known brands and those under the radar too, something that really encourages me to get outside my comfort zone and try something new.

Little Bit Lavish is a new subscription box with pampering in mind. Each item will be carefully chosen for you to enjoy as their belief is that all women deserve some time for themselves.  Whether it be a long soak in the tub, a five minute face mask or something as simple as applying a lip balm!  Their box of goodies will have a different theme each month, with the majority of our products being full size and will contain between 5-7 carefully selected pampering treats from beauty, skincare and the odd makeup item plus a lifestyle item and  something edible or drinkable. The brands they’ll be featuring will be a mixture of established companies to cottage industries with the intention of mainly focusing on organic or natural and cruelty free products.

Here’s a quick overview of what they featured inside their November edition:

Up first and to wake up the mind, body and soul is the Evolve Organic Beauty Citrus Blend Aromatic Wash (Travel size RRP £4.00). Described as a refreshing hand and body wash to soothe and moisturise the skin, the formula contains an uplifting infusion of Juniper Berry, Lime, Lemon and Basil and also has the added benefit of Natural Coconut and Sugar Extracts  to gently cleanse and maintain the skin’s natural pH balance. The addition of Organic Aloe Vera nourishes the skin and also calms irritation.

If you really want to power up your showering experience then the Wake Shower Steamer from Miss Patisserie (RRP £3.70) not only looks the part but you don’t need a bath tub to enjoy it either unlike bomb bombs! This interesting find is packed with essential oils such as spearmint and peppermint and promises to help with relieving headaches, migraines, nervous strain, fatigue and stress. It also benefits the respiratory tract; helping with asthma, bronchitis, catarrh and sinusitis. You simply place the steamer on the shower floor and let the warm water do the magic. I was hoping this was going to hit me with a burst of menthol but disappointingly it was very subtle however I do love the concept.

While we’re on the subject of colds my nose is as rough as sand paper at the moment so the Balm Balm Rose Geranium Face Balm (30ml RRP £8.95) has been such a bedtime saviour and did I mention it has a multitude of uses too – it’s a great time saver for the mornings! Made from shea butter, sunflower, beeswax, jojoba, calendula rose geranium essential oil, gently melted together to create a soft balm formulation to soothe, moisturise and nourish your face & neck or anywhere else that might need caring for. While the formula is a little too rich for my oily skin, this can be used for many things such as  lip balm, a primer for your makeup, for cracked heels or dry elbows, dry cuticles or you can also use it to tame those hair fly-aways too. I think this is the perfect addition for anyones winter skincare routine.

Up next is a the Gentle Scrub from Skin & Tonic (Travel Size RRP £9.00), a brand that’s committed to creating beautiful, sustainable beauty products that are good for both our skin and the planet and I’m delighted to see them on board as I adore their Steam Clean Cleanser. Containing Oat, Rosehip and French Pink Clay, the face scrub gently detoxifies leaving your skin feeling soft and nourished. In terms of usage, you just need to add a little water – cue the Megan Louise Ceramics Hand Made Tiny Dish (RRP £5.50)! Sometimes it really is the little things and I love that Little Bit Lavish have included this dainty hand made dish so we can mix up the scrub and the best bit – it can be used for so many other things too!

Lastly we have the Stoats Raspberry & Honey Porridge Oat Bar (RRP £0.89), a wholesome, healthy and scrumptious bar that’s perfect for those who skip breakfast like me! It’s packed with premium scottish oats, raspberry pieces, honey, pumpkin and sunflower seeds.

My Verdict

Having received three Little Bit Lavish editions now, I’m a firm believer that they actually stick to a theme as opposed to just throwing in random samples to fill out the box hence why everything is perfection month on month from the presentation, the attention to detail to the goodies inside – I don’t know how they do but it really demonstrates the passion and love that goes into their boxes. So this month’s theme had me really intrigued as I struggle to get up in the mornings and I’ve got to admit not only did they include some interesting brands and products but they covered a good ground on the beauty front too with energising bath time treats, a gentle detoxifying exfoliator with an accompanying dish in addition to a multitasking skin care balm not forgetting the wholesome porridge bar – who doesn’t love foodie treats inside their boxes! In comparison to previous editions, this month’s value has dropped slightly but other than that I think it’s another well thought curation with generous sized products to match.

While it’s hard to be truly surprised anymore as a lot of the same brands/products keep popping up from box to box, Little Bit Lavish box have definitely steered away from this and feature things that pique my interest mainly from niche brands, eco-conscious and even vegan brands making the unboxing experience so much more fun and exciting and is one of the reasons why this box really shines. I can’t wait to see what they have in store next month for their Social Butterfly theme.
