After the success of their first ever debut last month, I couldn’t wait to see what Roccabox had in store for us in April and I’m pleased to report it’s another fantastic curation that once again covers a good balance on the beauty front – how they manage to include all those goodies within that price point is so amazing! If you’re new to Roccabox then they enlist the help of a beauty blogger to put their favourite picks forward inside each edition which is pretty unique and isn’t something that’s been done before. For their April edition they’ve teamed up with blogger Gabriella Pisani, of ‘Pretty Ugly’ and it showcases a little bit of everything from hair care, nails, make-up and skin care from well-known and loved brands. If you’re interested in signing up don’t forget to use my exclusive 10% off code at the end of this post!

Here’s some of Gabriella’s favourite picks that have made their way inside the April box:

Up first and a very generous addition amongst the line up is the Smith & Cult ‘The Lovers’ Shining Lip Lacquer (Full Size RRP £23.00), a brand that started out with nail lacquers and have now also added chic looking lip glosses with the same look and feel – the dent is part of their brands packaging and is not damaged in case you’re wondering! Infused with portulaca pilosa extract (known for its skin-conditioning and plumping properties) and coconut oil, the formula doesn’t have that tacky feel, sits comfortably on the lips, hydrates and the subtle melon pink shade makes this such a great everyday essential for the spring/summer months.

Being prone to frizz there’s nothing worse than walking out the door with great hair, and minutes later it transforms into one frizzy mess so this essential will certainly be welcomed by those who need who need a frizz fighter in their life! This oldie but goodie from John Frieda in the form of the Frizz Ease Original 6 Effect Serum (Full size £6.99) is expertly formulated with an exceptionally unique blend of silicones, combined with silk protein and Thermal Protectant and protects each strand against the on-set of frizz, while taming unruly flyaways and boosting shine. It’s also suitable for all levels of frizz, including colour-treated and chemically-treated hair.

My love for nails varnish knows no end and although I have more than what I could possibly use in a lifetime I love the Nails inc Gel Effect Nail Polish (Full size RRP £14.00 – shades may vary) as they give you that fuss-free gel application and high-shine finish without having to faff around with lamps. I received St James which is a pillar box red shade.

Up next we have the Crabtree & Evelyn LA Source Hand Therapy (Full size RRP £8.00), a multi-award winning natural hand cream with rich shea butter to protect and moisturise hands from the elements to leave them silky soft and lightly scented with a relaxing sea fragrance. I love the Crabtree & Evelyn hand creams so I’m happy to welcome this to the stash.

Last but not least and to get our feet sandal-ready is the Kure Bazaar Natural Pedicure Ritual (Full Size RRP £4.50),  a pedicure kit that contains a foot care mask, a nail file and a wooden cuticle pusher. The natural foot care mask contains Organic Barley, Aloe Vera and Avocado extracts to hydrate and soothe your feet and toes. Suitable for all skin types even sensitive nails.

 My Verdict

After the success of last month’s first ever debut I’d say Roccabox in collaboration with Gabriella certainly delivered another fantastic curation for their April edition which is really promising for us subscription lovers especially when you take into account monthly price. Covering a good balance on the beauty front, there wasn’t any new brand discoveries for me this month but it was nice to be reacquainted with some classics and long standing favourites as well as the opportunity to try some new products from brands I’m already familiar with. My favourites so far are the Smith & Cult Lip Gloss and the Nails inc Gel Polish and I’m particularly looking forward to giving my feet some TLC with the Kure Pedicure Kit. Value-wise, this month’s contents are worth a respectable £56.49 and with everything being full sized you’ll certainly be able to judge whether the products work for you or not plus you can also expect to see discounts for some of the brands featured within the information booklet too. I’ve got to admit I always worry that new start-up’s may not be able to sustain that quality they promise but this certainly isn’t the case here and two months in, I’ve really enjoyed the unboxings so far. I can’t wait to see who they’ve got lined up for their May edition.
