If you’re looking for a subscription that’s more high end and features mainly makeup then the Look Incredible Deluxe Beauty Box is the perfect destination for that however I can’t help but feel that sometimes they set the bar so high, it’s hard to compete with that same standard every time. With this in mind, I wasn’t fan of the entire line-up but their June edition does feature a couple of star players for me plus it covers mainly make-up and that’s never a bad thing in my book!

If you’re new to Look Incredible they offer three types of beauty boxes which range from £25 to £65 and aim to deliver lust worthy beauty treats (mainly make-up) from brands we all love and know straight to your door and no spoilers are released so it’s a complete surprise when it arrives.

Here’s what I received inside the June Deluxe edition:

I’ve been really getting into Nars as of late so it was a bonus to see their Sculpting Multiple Duo Contour Stick in Cococabana (RRP £29.00).This versatile duo delivers sheer, natural-looking contouring and highlighting in one portable double-ended wand. The contour creates subtle definition and the highlighting shade accentuates the high points of the face with sheer, powder-soft illumination. I’m really looking forward to trying this out but most importantly the shades look very wearable.

As much as I love Too Faced, it’s getting a little too samey for me as Look Incredible do feature their products a lot! This month you can expect to see this cute little duo in the form of the Too Faced Glitter Glue + Shadow Insurance Primer Set (RRP £26.00) but hang on we received this very same primer only in October last year which isn’t great for all those loyal subscribers, I guess there’s no harm having a travel size one! The Glitter Glue locks down glitter, shimmer, and metallic shadows to prevent messy fall-out and the Insurance Primer locks down shadows for 24 hours of crease-proof, budge-proof, waterproof wear and true colour payoff.

I’m not going to lie, I rarely apply lip gloss these days and much prefer matte formulas so the Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-gloss Lip Lacquer (RRP £18.00) didn’t really excite me but the shade is very apt for this time of the year. Benefiting from shine, excessive colour, and stay-on power, this innovative formula and exclusive perfect-dose applicator give lips high-gloss, high-impact coverage. The Prizmalite TM gives lips a vinyl-shine finish with 360° reflective beads and Plexi-Color Technology features double-treated pigments* to drench lips in colour.

I love discovering new eyeliners so the Lancome Le Stylo Waterproof Eyeliner in Noir (RRP £20.00) was most definitely one of two highlights for me this month. Described as waterproof and smudge-proof this sounds ideal for hot climates. Formulated for an intense eye look to withstand everything from tears to inclement weather, this waterproof eyeliner has a unique twist tip that never needs sharpening with an easy-glide, creamy texture that helps you create any look you like. I’ve tried very little from Lancome but this eyeliner really impressed me. It delivered on the waterproof front, didn’t smudge or transfer under the waterline and also gave the blackest of black lines.

Last but not least and an extra treat inside this month’s edit is the Stress Relief Mask (x1 RRP $8.00) from Flora.py, a brand who’s products are inspired by the healing powers that blossom in nature. Their 100% coconut sheet masks are soaked in highly nutritious flower ingredients and powerful aromatherapy essential oils and each mask has been created to target certain skin concerns. I received the Stress Relief Mask which is infused with gentle chamomile flower to calm the senses and quiet the mind. The potent soothing and hydrating benefits leave the skin feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. The addition of peaceful patchouli encourages circulation, eases tension and fights away stress. I got this same mask last year inside my deluxe box and really liked it so I’m not too sad that it’s made another appearance!

My Verdict

For me personally, this month’s box wasn’t one of their best edits but luckily there was a few items that I really liked which in turn redeemed the shortfall. Unfortunately it was the gloss and the Too Faced samples that let this box down for me and while we’re on the subject of samples, I think this is the first time I’ve come across samples inside the deluxe box which was another disappointment as one of their main selling points is the fact that subscribers can expect to see full sizes. In addition to the usual four make-up products, it was nice to see an extra treat in the form of the Flora.py Stress Relief Mask but just like the insurance primer, it’s another item that’s been featured previously. I think the Lancome eyeliner surprised me the most this month!
