Whilst there’s a slight chill in the air, autumn is such a wonderful time of year, the leaves are turning vibrant soon to cover the ground with a blanket of colour and the best bit… it’s a really fun time to start swapping out your summer beauty products to something that little more weatherproof! So with this in mind the *October Glossybox not only includes a collective of key winter essentials but there’s also some make up treats too so you’re getting the best of both worlds this month!  This month’s edition boasts five full sized products with an AH-mazing value of £82.29 so it’s incredible value for money with quite a few new and exciting discoveries on board, it’s pretty impressive!

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service. The box consists of 4-5 selected hair, make-up , body and nail products from well-known brands and new brands and includes a mixture of full sized and sample products.

1.  So Susan Haute Light Highlighting Pencil – Full Size RRP £15.00

This universally flattering ivory cream crayon brings your best features to light and is made with White Truffle extract & Eyeseryl® peptide to help reduce eyebags and increase skin elasticity.

I love multi-tasking products and this pencil can be used on the brow bones, cheek bones & dark circles to instantly give your skin clarity & radiance. It can also be used as a shadow base to make colours pop that little more. A lovely fresh and pretty neutral pencil that will brighten your overall look and is also extremely easy to apply and blend with its soft creamy texture.

2. Talika Photo-Hydra Day – Full Size RRP £24.85

Within this month’s box is a very generous full sized Photo Hydra Day Cream from Talika, a brand that I’ve been quite impressed with.

With innovation at the forefront, this cream uses the energy from natural light to deeply moisturise and hydrate the skin making it much more than just an average moisturiser. The cream also contains the powerful moisture-binding ingredient Hyaluronic Acid which creates an effective water reservoir within the skin cells and plumps the skin for a rejuvenating and youthful effect alongside Mango Butter, which nourishes the skin and prevents dehydration and offers multiple skin benefits for all skin types.

3. Nicka K Airbrush Blending Sponge – RRP £6.50

I love receiving beauty tools inside beauty boxes, they’re not featured regularly so it makes a nice change from the usual lotions and potions!

This month all subscribers can expect to see an Airbrush Blending Sponge from Nicka K which promises to revolutionise the way you apply your foundation! The curves of the sponge fit perfectly into the contours of your face meaning you no longer have to worry about too much product being applied or the streaks you often get from using your fingers or sharp edged sponges!

4. Lanolips Golden Ointment Dry Skin Salve – Full Size RRP £17.99

As the chilly weather starts to attack our skin, there’s one remedy that is sure to keep those dry, cracked, irritated areas in check! The Lanolips Golden Ointment Dry Skin Salve is a thick balm which contains a100% natural mix of Lanolin, Manuka Honey and Vitamin E. Three powerful, nature-perfected healing ingredients  to help nourish dry lips, heal cracked heels and elbows and soothe sore, irritated areas that have been affected by the winter.

I’m a big fan of multi-tasking balms and without a doubt this delivers pure goodness so If you’re looking for a super-rich, ‘fix anything’ skin balm, I really recommend this. It comes in a generous full size too which is worth more than the price of the box!

5. Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes  – Full Size RRP £17.95

Fairy Lashes Curl by Jelly Pong Pong is a sculpting, curling mascara that promises to continually curl lashes throughout the day with a unique synthesis of Moringa Seed resin that dries down and holds the curl of lashes for long-lasting results whilst adding volume.

The Fairy Lashes Curl Mascara definitely has fairies in mind with its weightless formula and soft finish and steers away from any crazy volume or length giving a very natural look. I’ve tried this before and whilst it’s ideal as an everyday mascara which keeps the lashes defined, it’s not the best mascara I’ve tried.

My Verdict

The October Glossybox features some impressive essentials to help tackle the havoc which winter brings to our beauty regime as well as some make up treats giving subscribers the best of both worlds this month. Whilst there were a few repeats for me the remainder of the new discoveries still kept me interested and everything’s very usable this month. With five full sized products on board, the box is worth over £80 this month so it’s incredible value for money and also includes a £10 off voucher from Zalando which can be redeemed against a £50.00 spend.

Glossybox always include a generous amount of full sized products and the total value always beats the actual monthly subscription cost so it’s a great way to discover products from well-known and new brands guilt-free!
