December is such an exciting month and it just got a whole lot better…say hello to the *Luxe BirchBag Edition and to no surprise Birchbox have pulled out all the stops to bring subscribers a true treat. 1. Benefit Puff Off and They’re Real Push-up Liner Duo – Sample Size
Described as the “Ultimate Party Kit” this cute duo includes Benefit’s popular Push-up Liner to get your eyes party-ready and Puff Off to soothe your tired eyes after those late nights, what a great combination!
2. ModelCo Ultra Long-Lasting Lipstick in Smitten – Full Size RRP £15.50
The classic red lip never goes out of style and is synonymous with the approaching festive season. Paired with the Benefit liner, it’s the perfect way to get glam for any occasion.
Smitten is described as a “deep cranberry red” and is a beautiful classy red that really packs a punch. I love sporting red lips this time of the year and thankfully this isn’t orange toned (yay!). With a creamy and nourishing formula, the lipstick feels smooth and doesn’t my leave my lips craving for moisture.
3. Ciate London Paint Pot – Mini Size
As soon as Christmas rocks up, glitter hits us in full force from all angles so I was pretty pleased to receive Carousel, a muted gold glitter varnish that’s so spot on for this time of the year.
4. Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentrate – Sample Size 5ml
This 6 in1 multi-tasker cult favourite since the 1950s has found its way onto countless photo shoots, television and film sets internationally and promises to provide the skin with nutrients and water for its balance and helps protect it from aggression.
I don’t typically use rich facial moisturisers as my skin is on the oily side, however I decided to test this product out as the cold weather has caused my skin to dry out in places. This cream smoothed out my complexion almost instantly without a trace of oiliness. I have only tried it as a moisturiser, but it can also be used as a primer and a make-up remover! It also boasts from being paraben-, phthalate-, and sulfate-free.
5. Rituals T’ai Chi Foaming Shower Gel – Travel Size 50ml
Given my unmitigated love for Rituals, I was delighted to see a travel sized version of their T’ai Chi Foaming Shower Gel. From gel to mousse, this feels truly luxurious on the skin and lathers up just like a shaving gel. The scent is really refreshing so it’s the perfect way to wash away the day or to revive you first thing in the morning.
6. Extra Beauty Bonus – Catherine Malandrino Style de Paris EDP – Sample Vial
Style de Paris by Catherine Malandrino is a powder soft scent with citrus top notes that open up to aromas of lush orange blossom, sweet jasmine, and fresh gardenia with hints of amber and musk.
I received this in a previous Birchbox and fell in love with the delicate burst of floral notes with a very sweet twist. You need to like floral/sweet scents to really appreciate this but if you do, it will not disappoint.
7. The Luxe Birchbag

My Verdict
I think we all expect a little more cheer and sparkle in our beauty boxes during the month of December and Birchbox have indeed delivered on that front from the clutch bag to the contents within. With a collective of samples covering all areas, this months line up features well-known brands filled with goodies that I absolutely love. From make-up delights to essential beauty fixes you’ll be covered for both pre-party prep and next day recovery! Something I love about Birchbox is that they’re always thinking outside of the box and the clutch bag is such a lovely addition in replacement of the usual box, it’s so gorgeous and will effortlessly glam up any outfit whether you’re out for the day or partying in the evening.
All in all, I’m thoroughly impressed with the December edition and they’ve certainly ended the year with a bang! With all the fabulous samples I’ve received in 2015, I can only imagine what’s in store for 2016. One thing for sure, My letterbox is better with a Birchbox in it!
