It looks like the Christmas fairy has paid a little visit to the *December Period Box and as soon as I opened the box I was instantly greeted to a warming festive scent, very fitting indeed!  This month’s box is filled with a lovely selection of treats from beauty products, scent melts from my favourite brand as well as chocolate, a savory snack and tea, there’s so much to love!  Quite possibly my favourite edition this year, there’s some interesting new discoveries and not forgetting those key sanitary essentials which ensure you’re fully covered!

Period Box is a premium UK monthly subscription service that bundles your choice of tampons and pads with hand-picked goodies and exquisite treats to cheer you up when you most need it. With every box you will receive a selection of premium teas, chocolates from artisan manufacturers, high-end beauty samples and an unique design gift or a beautiful art print by their featured artist of the month. Period Box literally takes care of everything and will ship your package five days before your period is due and no matter what your preferences are your box is completely bespoke to meet your needs both day and night.

1. Period Essentials (2-3 days cycle)

As always I go for the short flow customised package which is for a 2-3 days cycle that consists of a mixture of pads suitable for both day and night. Inside the box there’s 10 pads (mixture of day and night pads) with four liners too. Period Box caters for all types of flows and your preferences can be chosen when you curate your box.

For me personally the box always includes the perfect amount of pads and liners from Always, a brand that I trust and turn to and find them super comfortable, reliable and discreet.

2. Organic Surge Refreshing Face Wash – Travel Size. RRP £3.95

My skin always breaks out and feels that little more oilier a few days before my monthly visitor so I’m always up for trying new cleansers to soothe and balance my skin. I was delighted to see the Organic Surge Refreshing Face Wash, a natural foaming gentle face wash made from organic rose geranium essential oil to help restore your skin’s natural balance and clear a dull, sluggish complexion while aloe vera calms and moisturises the skin.

3. My Earth Kiss Pore Cleanse Mud Mask- RRP £1.99

Earth Kiss isn’t a brand I’ve come across before but their range of products stem from a popular face mask company called 7th Heaven (previously Montagne Jeunesse). They are 100% natural and are packed with 85 plant nutrients from the Himalayan Shilajit.

The 85 plant micronutrients found in Shilajit, like Fulvic, a natural antioxidant, Hippuric a natural antiseptic and Salicylic, a natural anti inflammatory, help rebalance the skin while also increasing energy and relieving stress and anxiety.

Containing cooling Glacial mud, the Earth Kiss Detox Pore Cleanse Mud Mask is a natural mud mask that promises to cleanse and de-stress your skin inside and out.

4. Flamingo Candles Christmas Scent Melts – X2 RRP £2.00 each

What better way to enjoy the festive season than with some fantastic Flamingo Candles Scent Melts and their amazing true-to-life scents!

Inside you can expect to see the Mulled Wine & Berries Christmas Scent Melt , a seasonal accord recalling mulled wine including apple, sweet berries, wine, brandy, orange, clove, ginger, cinnamon and vanilla and something I can’t wait to try is the Bah! Humbug Christmas Scent Melt,  a mouth-watering peppermint fragrance with notes of vanilla and crisp mint.

If there’s ever a time of year more suited for scented melts, it’s now and I’m delighted that Period Box included these!

5. Tea and Treats

Whatever your cup of tea, Period Box include a variety of unique tea’s from different companies, mainly sourced from brands I’ve not heard of before but this month features one of my favourite brand Pukka Tea,  who tea’s are tasty, satisfying and warming. The Pukka Womankind Tea has been created by master herbsmith Sebastian Pole to help women balance and bloom containing an infusion of ruby-red cranberry, rose, shatavari and vanilla.

I know we all like to splurge during our period but I really love that Period Box have included some healthy type snacks this month to keep your cravings in check and includes a Pulsin Maca Bliss Raw Chocolate Brownie and a packet of Baked Veggie Crisps from Veronica’s Snack.

My Verdict

I love this month’s edition and I’m really  impressed with the amount of goodies inside, I think it’s quite possibly one of their best yet and the perfect curation to end the year with! There’s lots to go through and a little bit of everything from snacks to keep your cravings in check as well as some skincare treats and two very festive scent melts that smell absolutely AH-mazing. The presentation and the wrapping as always is something which always gets full marks from me and I love that they don’t release any spoilers meaning it’s a complete surprise when it arrives. Whilst it’s lovely to receive a selection of pampering treats, the sanitary essentials ensure you’re covered right the way through without the last minute panic of rushing to a supermarket!

We all look for comfort and indulgence in the form of sweet offerings and pampering treats to get us through the cycle and this box hits all the right spots covering you for the first day to even the last day of your period whilst accommodating for all of the uncanny stuff that happens in between!
