So you’re probably wondering what’s with the summer props within my photos when we’re still in winter, but I can assure you it’s very relevant! I’m off on holiday in a couple of weeks to catch some much needed sunshine and whilst I’m really excited the chore of packing just bores me! I mean how do you shortlist all your loved beauty products into a travel light version – I’m that girl who jumps up and down on the suitcase hoping for the best! So on a mission to get myself a little organised I decided to build my very own box via Latest in Beauty to pick up some travel sized versions of my long standing favourites as well as some new discoveries that will see me right through the 5 days that I’m away.

1. Rituals Hammam Delight Shower Gel Foam – Travel Size 50ml RRP £4.50

Whilst the hotel I’ll be staying at will be providing their very own toiletries I much prefer taking my own and I absolutely adore Rituals so it was a no brainer to add this to my box.

The Rituals Hamman Shower Foam is a unique gel-to-foam technology which transforms it’s gel into a rich relaxing foam. It promises to transform your own bathroom into a true Hammam with its infusion of aromatic and revitalising qualities of refreshing Eucalyptus and Rosemary.

As with all Ritual products this smells utterly divine with refreshing and invigorating notes.

2. Halo Eye Make-up Remover Pads – Full Size (30 wipes) – RRP £1.99

These hypoallergenic and fragrance free pads by Halo gently remove make up including waterproof mascara, are really moist and remove make-up effectively and effortlessly. With the pads being slighter larger compared to others I’ve used, one is simply enough for both eyes and the pack itself is the perfect space saver!

3. Beauty UK High Brow All in One Brow Definition Kit – RRP £3.99

I was first introduced to the BeautyUK High Brow Palette inside The Glamour Spring Beauty Edit Box and it’s been a firm favourite of mine ever since.

The palette is housed within a sturdy plastic case and inside there’s three different shades of powders, a clear wax, tweezers and a double-ended brow brush (angled and flat).

I love this brow kit, it brings together everything you could possibly need to achieve natural and defined looking brows and the handy sized compact is perfect for popping into your handbag for touch ups. This is something I’d definitely recommend putting on your shopping list when you next visit Superdrug!

4. Burt’s Bees Natural Lip Gloss in Evening Glow – Full Size RRP £8.99

I love the lip crayons from the Burt’s Bees Collection so thought I’d try one of their glosses in the shade Evening Glow, a lovely red shade with hints of shimmer.

This is a wonderfully nourishing lip product, especially if you’re into natural beauty products. If you’re intimidated by red lipstick then this is a great option due to the sheer finish.

5. Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Lacquer in Petal Pink – Full Size RRP £6.00

Nothing shouts holidays than brightly painted nails but one small chip and its game over so I decided to opt for the Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Lacquer in Petal Pink that will easily touch-up any obvious imperfections and will also match with all my outfits!

6. Heaven Skincare Peppermint Clarifying Hydrogel – Travel Size RRP £10.00

I’ve raved about the Heaven Skincare Hydrogels on my blog and since discovering these I’ve been hooked ever since.

The hydrogels clean, prime, hydrate, firm and also claim to do everything a toner does and much more. From the three hydrogels available my favourite is the Peppermint one as it works wonders on my oily skin.

This hard-working gel moisturises, clarifies and conditions with it’s unique all-in-one formulation and it’s light weight texture absorbs quickly without any greasiness making it ideal for the summer. The novelty of the product is the infusion of peppermint in the mix which gives the gel a subtle mint fragrance and a refreshing, cooling effect upon contact with the skin. It feels incredible on my oily skin and since I’ve been using the hydrogel I’ve seen a noticeable improvement with less breakouts and much more happier looking skin.

My Verdict

If you find monthly beauty subscriptions a little hit and miss when it comes to meeting your likes and needs 100%, the Latest in Beauty Build your Own Box concept is perfect for those who like something that more personalised and less risky! Offering a wide array of products from both well known and up and coming brands with a shortlist that covers all areas of beauty, you’ll literally be spoilt for choice. I’m really pleased with my picks and I’m delighted that I managed to find some of my long standing favourites in travel size versions as well as some new discoveries too, it’s pretty impressive as I only paid £12.99 (box of 6 items) and the contents are worth £35.47!

The boxes start from £8.99 – £16.99 and with a mixture of both full sized and good sized samples it’s a great way to discovery all things beauty at such an affordable price.
