The February You Beauty Box has arrived and this month sees the launch of their new box design as well as their new home that’s now located at www.box.you.co.uk and I’m please report that everything else including the price remains the same. The February shortlist is themed around Rested & Radiant, where you can expect to see all things skin-loving and truly revitalising and as a special thank you the Philip Kingsley Limited Edition Elasticizer Geranium and Nerloli has also been included as well the Eyeko Mascara for those who registered their details over. You Beauty Box is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get choose two products of your choice from both well-known and emerging brands and they also throw in 2-3 bonus samples. Each month you’ll find a shortlist that’s been centered around a theme.
1. Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Refine and Polish Miracle Balm – Sample Size 15ml
I don’t know about you but it feels so amazing to scrub the day away and to find that hidden glow that hides under that layer of dead skin, and since I ran out of my usual exfoliator I thought I’d give this balm type one a try from Aurelia, a brand that continually seek scientific excellence by pushing the boundaries of skincare with ethically sourced 100% BioOrganic botanical formulations.
The Refine and Polish Miracle Balm is a revolutionary double-action, multi-use enzyme polish which works to transform and brighten dull, rough, congested and lacklustre complexions.
A hybrid between a cleansing balm and gentle exfoliator, the creamy balm hydrates whilst the beads gently buff away leaving me with seriously silky smooth cheeks! Thinking that there would barely be any scrubbing action from a soft balm like this I was so wrong as you can really feel the beads working without any harshness.
This is really is a nice alternative to a normal exfoliator and I love that the balm hydrates the skin at the same time. The formula is really lovely to work with and feels rather luxurious too with it’s aromatic scent.
2. PURISKIN Resurfacing Formula – Sample Size 15ml
The Puriskin Resurfacing Formula is an exceptionally gentle formulation harnessing the soothing and anti-inflammatory qualities of cucumber to bring rapid relief – typically on contact and cool heat and calm redness and irritation. Designed for extremely sensitive and traumatised skins, Puriskin Formula is an effective remedy formulated to assist in the healing process.
This isn’t something I’d use on a daily basis but it’s a great addition to have on standby in your medicine drawer!
3. Extra samples inside the box:
As always, the You Beauty Box always includes some extra bonus treats but this month they’ve gone above and beyond! The box features the Philip Kingsley Geranium and Neroli Elasticizer (40ml), Eyeko Mascara (for those who transferred their details over to the new site), Vita Liberata Night Moisture Mask (10ml) and two sachets of the Real Techniques Deep Cleansing Brush Gel.
My Verdict
I don’t usually get excited by skincare as I’ve pretty much nailed my routine but I’m really glad I picked these two skincare heroes. I’m really interested in seeing how the Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Refine and Polish Miracle Balm works for my skin and as for Puriskin sample, this will be accompanying me on my holiday for any sunburn disasters! I think you’ll agree there’s lots of generous extras thrown in this month making it such an exceptional line up.
Coming in at only £6.95, not only is it affordable but it also gives subscribers a great opportunity to sample products from well-known, loved and emerging beauty brands. One of the aspects I love about this box is that I have full control of what’s inside as well as receiving some additional bonus samples too.
