While the May box didn’t particularly wow me, Cohorted definitely needed to win me over this month so when I saw their reveal for June I was pretty excited as I’ve been wanting to try the HD Brows Palette for quite some time so it was definitely a promising start. Covering mainly make-up (Yay!) and a bronzing mist from tanning guru James Read I’m really delighted with their *June edition although you could argue that a couple of the make up shades are a little on the wintery side but nonetheless everything’s full sized with a combined value of £82.00 and features a good variety of products plus they’ve sourced a couple of new brands too which is always something I welcome.
The June edition showcases the brands James Read, Nars, Lord & Berry and HD Brows, all of which are beautifully presented inside their signature black box secured with an organza ribbon giving it a very luxurious look and feel.
1. James Read Bronzing Mist – Full Size RRP £37.50
I love what I’ve tried so far from the James Read’s collection and if there’s something to make the self-tan process that little easier it’s definitely got my vote! With innovation at the forefront, this bronzing mist dispenses through a spray nozzle and distributes the product much more easier in comparison to creams and mousses. The mist is extremely lightweight and is tinted so you can see exactly what you’re doing, eliminating the possibility of streaks. It dries within a matter of a few minutes and can be layered on again if you want a darker result. One of the best things about this mist is it will not leave you yearning for a shower as there isn’t that usual unpleasant scent we all associate with fake tan. While it seemed like my bathtub took more of a hit than my legs (the mist goes everywhere and isn’t noticeably until after!) it did give me an extremely natural tan and is something I would definitely consider repurchasing.
2. HD Brows Eye & Brow Palette in Foxy – RRP £25.00
With a wishlist as long as my arm (add another arm too!) I was so excited to finally tick off the HD Eye & Brow Palette, it’s a brand I’ve been wanting to try for so long and it’s features everything you could possibly need to put your eyes and brows in spotlight!
This multi-purpose palette not only fills in, shapes, and tames your brows but the powders can also be used as eyeshadow and range from cool-to-warm colours to give you an array of looks. In addition to this there’s also a smooth setting wax, a brow highlighting powder and a double ended application brush, all of which are contained within a sturdy sleek palette
The powders are very pigmented and smooth making it very easy to work with and the angled applicator brush is the perfect size for precision. It’s versatility makes it perfect when you’re on the go and it’s definitely a firm favourite of mine within this months line up.
3. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil – Full Size RRP £20.00
I’m a huge NARS fan so my eyes always light up when I see something from their collection appear inside a beauty box and with various shade options available I typically received the most wintery one! Leaning towards a warm brown, Tortola is definitely one of those shades that’s more suited for autumn/winter so I’m little disappointed Cohorted decided to include this shade but nonetheless it is very wearable with a light weight and creamy formula which glides onto the lips effortlessly.
4. Lord & Berry Supreme Iridescent Blue Eyeliner – RRP £12.00
I’ve tried quite a few make up products from Lord & Berry, some of which have even made their way to my make up stash but this blue eyeliner is definitely my least favourite from the line up as I mainly stick to black – a little boring I know! Nonetheless this iridescent navy pop of colour is really stunning with great pigmentation so if you want to bring something a little unusual to your make up look this a good choice.
My Verdict
Cohorted, you’ve definitely delivered this month! Covering a good area of make up treats plus a foolproof bronzing mist I think this is by far one of their better curations in comparison to recent months plus I finally got my hands on the HD Brows Palette so that was indeed a bonus! I think the only dud for me was the eyeliner pencil but other than that I’m delighted with the remainder and while the NARS lip pencil leans more towards a wintery shade it’s still very wearable. With more new brands being added to their portfolio I’m really excited to see what they have in store in the next few months. As always everything’s full sized with a combined value of £82.00, not a bad amount but I’ve definitely seen them do better.
If you lust over premium and high end brands or simply want a guilt-free treat each month the Cohorted Beauty Box really is great for that.
