The July 2016 You Beauty Box has landed and as always I couldn’t wait to make my picks even more so as I skipped last months offerings. This months Jet Set Edit is centered around travel so whether your off to sunnier climes or staying at home there really is something for every beauty fan with a collection that’s so fitting for this time of the year. With three different membership options now in force you can now add up to 4 beauty treats from the shortlist and they’ve also included some older products from previous months which is great if you particularly loved something or missed out – a win win situation i’d say! With well-known brands in addition to some new discoveries too I opted for skincare and make up this month.
1. Illamasqua Precision Ink Liner in Abyss – Full Size RRP £20.50
When it comes to getting that coveted flick, I’ve tried my hand at quite a few different liners – felt tipped pens, gel pots, liquid liners you name it, I’ve probably given it a go! While there’s definitely a lot of great options on the market this one by Illamasqua has a super fine tip that’s perfect for achieving a precise flick without giving you that overdone look. The formula is smudge-proof and long lasting and the blackness really makes the eyes pop. The tip isn’t as flexible as I would have liked but you can still work with it.
I’m so glad that I decided to pick this up and give it a try. I have a feeling all of the other liners in my stash are going to be collecting dust for a little while!
2. White Rabbit Skincare Lime & Coconut Cleansing Water – Travel Size 30ml
White Rabbit isn’t a brand I’ve come across before but they’re a cruelty-free and vegan skincare company based in Scotland. All their products are exclusively handmade in small batches to ensure freshness and quality. Harnessing the therapeutic aspect of essential oils, base oils, butters and waxes, each of their products help to nourish and nurture your skin.
I was particularly drawn to this cleansing water not only because of brands ethics but the combination of the Lime & Coconut just sounded utterly refreshing for this time of the year. Described as “the funkiest, freshest means of removing your makeup” , it promises to remove all traces in addition to cleansing your skin quickly and easily and its suitable for all skin types too.
3. Extra samples inside the box:
As always, the You Beauty Box always includes some extra bonus treats and this months edition features a travel sized St. Tropez NEW Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion in Medium (50ml), £2 OFF St. Tropez coupon and a White Rabbit Skincare £10 gift card.
My Verdict
I really can’t fault the You Beauty Box and I think they’ve definitely brought some positive changes to their subscription so I’m hoping they’ll be more within the shortlist next month to entice me to the gold subscription. I’m delighted with my picks and while the White Rabbit sample is a little on the small side I do love discovering new brands and the handy £10.00 voucher will certainly come in useful should I fall in love with the cleanser! This ridiculously affordable subscription is an excellent way to sample some of the latest and greatest alongside some classics from the beauty industry, and is well worth the £6.95 investment.
Coming in at only £6.95, not only is it affordable but it also gives subscribers a great opportunity to sample products from well-known, loved and emerging beauty brands. One of the aspects I love about this box is that I have full control of what’s inside as well as receiving some additional bonus samples too. If you’re new to the beauty box concept then this is definitely a great purse friendly box to start off with and If you do happen to fall in love with something there’s a few discount codes from the brands featured this month too.
